ANYONE who has doubted Hayley Westoby has only empowered and motivated her. The 29-year-old from Sydney was determined to prove the people who said she could not lose weight wrong. At her heaviest, Hayley weighed 302lbs after the weight piled on due to lack of exercise and eating whatever she wanted. However, over the course of three years, Hayley dropped 143lbs as well as those who doubted her. She now loves the life she leads and is surrounded by supportive people. Hayley told Truly: “When someone tells me that I can't do something, I literally sit there and I'm like, 'watch me'.”

Maybe she is friends with her old exboyfriend. In a way she is giving him a tiny bit of credit for inspiring her to live a healthier life.

Agree! I don't have a single photo left from when I was at my biggest. A bit sad about it now since I can't compare, but I rarely took photos back then and I didn't wanna be reminded of it when I was bigger so I just deleted all of it.

Yeah no way she was 300 pounds. Maybe like 230 or 240 but no way she was 300 with the proof she showed here. Not to mention she's messed up for hating on her ex boyfriend when he called her overweight. The dude was in a freaking relationship with FAT her which shows more volumes then one thing he said that helped her anyways. @@nirjatiwari8833 babe...don't be in a hurry. You didn't put it on in 2 months.. Don't take it off in 2 months. Your skin needs time to snap back. It only works if you do it the healthy way...SLOW AND HEALTHY. Get in exercise. Don't punish yourself. Chloe ting videos are hard but man ...they work!!

I hate that people are commenting on how she looked before, because she was doing that to make herself happy. It doesn't matter how she used to look, but that she is happier and more confident now. :)
Maybe it's a teaching tool for those that look like her before. With effort you can change, emphasis on effort. If people think food is more important than everything else, then they won't put the effort in and won't change. But then they have to stay looking erm...not as good as they could.

You are saying that someone who is overweight doesn't look "as good as they *could."* As if being thin means you look _better?_ It's that type of stereotype that so many people have that makes overweight people feel insecure. Even her ex when they got into a "heated argument" resorted to shaming her because of her weight. As if being overweight makes her less of a person than someone who is thin. People need to *stop* thinking like you do and just accept people for who they are. If someone is happy with their life, it's *their* life, so who are we to criticize them and project *our* ideas on what "looks good" onto someone else.

If you said the change she went through was for the *good* because now she is healthier, I would have *no* argument with that. But that's _not_ what you commented on. You _only_ made a comment about how she didn't *look* as good as she could (if she were thin).
And by your comment _"it's so easy for people to defend the fat",_ first off all, if that was directed at me, I wasn't _defending_ her because she was overweight. I was pointing how people often use shaming speech like her ex did or like you subtly did. Secondly "fat shaming" occurs far more than "skinny shaming". The only time I even really hear people talking about skinny people are comedians when they make fun of supermodels. But you see people debasing overweight people all the time.

It’s also possible that in those pictures she was 200~ lbs. and just stopped being in pictures when she hit 300. It’s possible she avoided being in photos because of the weight

Just shows how shallow the ex was the entire relationship. Imagine having an argument and it's concluded by being shamed for your body. If there was a concern, he could've brought it up in a palatable and polite way, coming from a place of concern and not malice. Disappointing.

These "weight gain" comments are increasingly common on this channel, but what people need to understand is that people needing to lose weight way OUTNUMBER those that need to gain. It's more common to see someone trying to lose weight than someone trying to gain. Being overweight/obese is more of a problem. In saying this however, I'm in no way diminishing anorexia/bulimia problems.
Your completely right but I feel like it would be fair to people that they see all sides of the extremes not just 1. Also not every one that underweight is like that due to Ed or medical issue. Some just don’t eat enough and think they do or you got some that lost a lot of weight due to medical issue such as not being able to eat due to op they had for example.

I know that feeling of someone telling you to loose weight. I once got it from an animator as we were playing beach volleyball. That was the turning point.
she didn't look 'fat' before in the slightest... a little overweight maybe but not unhealthy. so happy for her thought she definitely seems happy and that's all that matters. i hope people don't take the wrong idea away from the title of this video however... she did it for herself over a few years not to please her awful excuse of a boyfriend that bullied her over her appearance. how vile and insecure can you get.
@XIII there's absolutely no way she weighed 302 pounds in any of the pictures they used in this video, she'd have to be 8 feet tall for those proportions to work out. either they left out pictures of her at her biggest or they told her to exaggerate to make the story more interesting. i'm from the uk and she looks like your average sized girl here in her before pictures.
@XIII she absolutely does look like a size 16 in these pictures, an 18 at a push in the bigger ones.
Dress sizes do not mean anything because every retailer has huge differences between what are supposed to be standard sizes.
To say she looked healthy is her before pictures is just denial. She looks extremely healthy now, before she looked and was unhealthy

She must be pretty tall cause she doesn't look that big in the before pictures. I'm 6'0ft and about the same weight as her before and I look quite a few sizes bigger than her. So either these aren't pictures at her heaviest or she's even taller than me.

After losing 143lbs, did she have loose skin? Did she have skin removal? I want to know how she kept her body so tight after losing so much? I am currently on a weight loss journey myself and have to lose less than her and I’d like to avoid loose skin as much as possible. She looks amazing! Like she’s never been big in her life! ❤️
well she also lost weight gradually over 3 yrs and so perhaps it wasnt too intense on her skin. plus even though she lost a tonne of weight it seemed very evenly dispersed too so maybe that also is a factor

I'm 155lbs and 5'6" and the father of my twins calls me fat, ugly, and old. I want to do what she did and stop feeling sad about it and get back in shape. I only gained 8lbs and a few oz with my boys I had two 4lbs babies. I also disagree with some comments about her never being 302lbs. most people once they get too big won't allow anyone to take a picture of them.
Lol, I know everyone carries their weight differently but you're only an inch taller than me and 5 lbs over my ideal weight. To me 125-135 would be too thin.

As to her not looking as heavy as 302 in that photo (and I agree): I'm a nurse and once got report called to me about a patient arriving to my unit soon. The reporting nurse stated that the patient's weight was 425 lbs. Yowza! I ordered a special bed for this morbidly obese patient. It was more like a queen size hospital bed with special capabilities to prevent bed sores, etc. that morbidly obese patients deal with. When she arrived, I could not believe it. She looked 250-275 lbs max. I was astounded, and had to send the bed back because it was very expensive and she didn't need the extra charges and features it provided. That lady carried 425 lbs better than anyone I have ever seen, so you just never know.

I wish more people realized that weight control is not viable for everyone. Not everyone can “exercise more” and not everyone has room for improvement in their diet , as they eat healthily and are still overweight for plenty other reasons.
