FOR years, Carla struggled with food addiction and negative self-talk. The 34-year-old from County Dublin, Ireland, started her transformation journey by tackling the self-critical voice before introducing a calorie controlled diet and walking on a daily basis. At her heaviest, Carla weighed 323.8lbs and over the course of 12 months, managed to lose 175lbs. This emotional and physical transformation journey has led to Carla feeling more self-confident and able to express herself through fashion. Before, she avoided wearing anything but black clothes but today she is trying on a gorgeous red dress for the first time. Carla told Truly: “I feel like this is the start of something. While kind of the end of my weight loss journey, it’s the start of a new chapter in my life.”

I can tell you it’s not easy to work out or lose weight. I’m so proud for her!
Strong is the new beautiful. She needs to gain muscle to keep that new body shape in a healthier way.
It's actually fairly easy to workout and lose weight, losing weight is a matter of caloric deficiency. The hard part is getting INTO the routine that you aren't familiar with yet.
Slowly replace bad habits with the good, and bad food with the good and eventually you are going to lose weight, and fast. A caloric surplus was her reason for the weight gain. Caloric deficit and cardio was the reason for the loss.
You can even lose a fair bit of weight by removing 200 calories of your recommended daily intake. It just wont be as fast or to what you'd want it to be.
It's also a LOT more fun to workout and lift weights than it is to do cardio for me. But cardio for 5mins before workout to warm-up body, stretch, lift weights, finish with 5 or 10 mins cardio and you're good.
Super easy. And to reduce the cravings for junk food have it on a fun day, like a Friday or Saturday night before going back to the diet Sun-Thurs.

I can’t go to the gym at a young age but I’m trying to get some muscles. Although my arms and legs get sore 😢. I don’t know what I should eat while I go In a diet 😔

Mentally I thought everything would fit me tight when shopping bc I was so used to sizing up lol it’s an awesome feeling! 🥳 she’s so inspiring 🥲💓

A lot of people look better at a smaller size. I am one of them. The face changes so much when all that fat isn’t on it. And the collar bones look good haha. Not everyone can pull off being overweight.

Same, I've been trying to lose 30lbs for 8+ years, I get as far as 15 to 20 but something always derails my progress and I never reach the goal and slowly climb back up. First 20lbs: it was going to college, 15lbs: then I got a severe back injury that took up 2 years of my life. When I finally healed enough and got a good gym routine, 15lbs down & muscle built.... COVID!
Aaaannnd, Now I am pregnant 😅 I lost 8 lbs but that will change, obviously.
Hope I can get it together after baby.

That's amazing and she looks so beautiful. This really gave me the willpower to carry on with my diet that I've just started. It's been really hard this past year and I know I've eaten more as a comfort and way to cope. This vid just proves that anything is possible if you put your mind to it

I think the main thing is pick a diet that is sustainable. Losing weight quickly actually increases the chance of rebound which is important
@AntiCap Atheist not necessarily, she was cutting excess calories that she didn't need, as she said she was using food for reasons other than hunger. Hopefully she feels as great as she looks and is as happy as she looks.

Same here..lost almost 40 kg during the pandemic .reduced calories and started walking ..not for exercise but simply because it felt relaxing..ended up walking more than 100km per month..regained my confidence and feel great after such a long time..been struggling to loose weight for so many years..after I cut off toxic people and set my boundaries I realized I had to take care of myself and everything took its course..
You don’t need a gym to shift the pounds! Great job.
