North Country Trail | 2023 Hike 6 - 100 Mile Challenge | Litchfield to Jonesville, Michigan

We had a beautiful sunny day for our hike from County Line Road north of Litchfield down to Jonesville. Enjoyed the woodsy part of the trail in Litchfield that led us past the “Litchfield Pyramids” as our friend Mary called them, to a nice spot with picnic tables for lunch, and on along the St Joseph River. Quite a bit of road walk after that, mostly dirt roads. Also got a tour of the NCT Kayak Camp (www.nctkayakcam...), where NCT hikers can camp out if they contact them in advance. This left only 6.5 miles of Hillsdale County for me to cross off my list in the future. Stay tuned for that.

It was so much fun to see your group hiking in sun without snow! We'll also be interested in your preparation for camping. We're slowly accumulating gear and thinking we would like to be able to overnight on trail.

Yes, I've been doing the same, starting to pick up gear here and there, with the goal of actual backpacking instead of just day hikes. :) I'm excited to try it very soon.
