Pattinson’s acting when he thought the riddler found out his identity was so good. He looked so scared that his identity was found out, and then you see his facial expression change so fast when he realizes riddler doesn’t know.
@@gevoian Yeah, it's cuz Batman tells him that a riddle everyone knows the answer too is worthless, so Riddler wouldn't dare tell it. Though it's cool, I feel that is too risky still. He could in theory still tell someone.
I almost felt that even when Batman told riddler that he didn’t like him, he still respected his smarts. And riddler was literally just like a corrupt Batman
I love how the first civilian Batman saves is scared of him and thinks he’s going to hurt him but the last one doesn’t want to leave him a she is airlifted away, cool parallel showing his growth from someone who just beat the shit out of criminals to an actual hero
Sort of add on to that but it really helped was how whenever Batman was at a crime scene at the beginning of the movie there would be cops who have this “really, we’re letting THIS guy look around”. But by the end, a cop (who called him a freak at the beginning) actually made small talk with him that help him figure out riddler plan
Yet, billionaire, entrepreneur, crime fighter, detective, muscle car driver, . That is not your typical introvert. I liked his acting. I just felt they shrunk his profile to introvert, gloomy, depressed. Perhaps they used the riddler as a wake up call for the character. Dunno.
I mean it was more realistic really….I don’t see a kid who’s parents were murdered in front of him and raised by a butler being that happy of a person regardless of having money. Bruce is a tormented soul like everyone else he is fighting he just used his for good instead of evil.
I really like the twist that he inspired his villains. He realizes that his whole vengeance message is inspiring the wrong people and at the end he turns to inspire hope. A good character arc that make me excited to see the future of this character
How is this a twist tho.. it's literally the same thing at the beginning of TDK where there were several copycats that Batman inspired...one of them Heaths Joker kills... Bale's Batman literally says that is not what he wanted to inspire.
@@insidejah9293 the difference is those were people who wanted to become a vigilante like Batman. In this movie however, Batman inspired the main villain to carry out these killings.
@@apower2058 it is literally the same concept... Batman inspires copies some with the wrong intent some with the right intent. My point stands that it's "NOT a TWIST".
@@insidejah9293 Yh you’re right, it isn’t a twist, even in the comics, it’s been long explained that Batman’s villains wouldn’t exist in Gotham if it wasn’t for Batman himself… these people are just newbies I’m guessing.
For me three scenes gave me chills. The first walkout. The batmobile and the scene when batman comes from the glass roof of the building with all of riddlers followers. Absolute master piece
I love how the cop next to Jim Gordon calls Batman a 'Freak' even though Batman doesn't treat him badly but he fanboys hard when he sees Bruce Wayne and Bruce just ignores him, loved these Moments/Details about the movie.
The scene of Batman staring at the mayor’s child, as Bruce sees himself in where that kid now sits was done perfectly to me. The emotion that Pattinson is able to convey in his eyes alone at many points throughout the movie is why he’s one of the best actors working right now.
That was in the script and asked for from the director. Also music and lighting helped. The directors decision to just hold longer on the profile view and pattinsons moves his eyes 👀 was intense. But not sure if I credit Pattinson for that choice.
@@StevanChase Things like that may be scripted by the writers and directors, but its completely up to the actor's skill to make it work. Some actors, like Pattinson here or Clint Eastwood if you want a really big name, can convey a whole range of emotion through body language alone. The way they walk, or smirk, or turn their head, or even just gaze at something/someone. You can put an actor like Channing Tatum in the same suit with the same lighting with the same writing and the same directorial cues, but he's nowhere near good enough to be able to pull off that level of nuanced physical storytelling.
@@barryb.benson3370 Why would anyone choose Channing Tho? But don’t act like Channing can’t pull off a better fight scene. Other parts yeah, not even close. Channing is not the guy. You chose someone way off to prove your point. That’s like me saying getting the makers of Trolls shooting this same shot with ugly lighting, corny music, awkward camera angles would be able to pull of that scene. Not even close no matter if Pattinson played Batman, it’ll come off like kiddish. I’m talking about that certain scene should be credited to many others involved with deciding on holding that shot and telling him to look left or right. He did an amazing job, but to much credit to him. especially when it’s obvious how much the production team enhanced every single beautiful shot. And the sound FX. It can be Roberts voice narrating a certain part and people are still saying wow he acted that part very well, I’m like wait what he’s not even in the shot and still crediting him. Don’t get me wrong, I loved his portrayal acting in this Batman. But they picked him for a reason. He’s always played a bit emo roles, sad, mad, and very calm in the face. Perfect pick if this is the kind of Batman they were going for. Movies go through a couple years in preproduction making sure the movie looked good before even casting.
@@StevanChase I picked Tatum because he's a big star and does fit the "action hero" prototype you see superhero/scifi movies go for. It wasn't too long ago that I saw a lot of people pushing for him to star in a solo Gambit movie. My overall point was to illustrate that performances ultimately hinge on an actors abilities to portray the character. I personally don't think Tatum is a bad actor, but his skills are nowhere near what was needed here. I wasn't trying to downplay the efforts of the director or rest of the crew. Like I said, I was just trying to illustrate that no matter how well written/directed/etc a role is, you need an actor that can bring that character to life. If anything, you were the one downplaying Pattinson's skills. You give him credit and then say "well not really, he only read a line/looked in a direction". Also, a drummer can write a banger song, but if the lead vocalist stinks, the song is gonna stink regardless of how good the drummer/guitarist/bassist perform or how good the sound production quality is.
One guy who I feel isn't getting enough credit is John Turturro as Falcone. I understand why, Penguin was too good but John was straight out of a Scorsese movie. I greatly enjoyed his take on the mobster.
Same here! I know John turturro thru his silly roles (transformers, mr deeds) but I was blown away seeing him here considering I didn’t even know he was in it. He did it perfectly
I respectfully disagree, he just felt like turturro to me. He didn’t feel like falcone. Was definitely stunt casting imo. But I’m glad others enjoyed him!
Someone pointed out to me that the Riddler goon who says “I’m Vengeance” at the end of the movie is also the guy rambling in the funeral to Bruce. Crazy amount of detail in this film.
It was the guy for the last Riddle clue, but Batman thought it was him (as well as to make us think that way, since he said at the beginning "I'm Vengeance"), Riddle gave a clue that to end all of this Riddle madness, "Vengeance" need to show up, which is what happen at the end, but not with Batman, instead it was him.
Penguin scene where they made him walk like a penguin was genius. The scene where he was tied up and the Batman and police drove off you see him walking like a penguin
Absolutely. Sometimes I think that movies are filled with these moments and noone gets credit for it. Seriously, could we know who was the mind behind that specific detail? He deserves an MTV "Best major insignificant detail" award.
@@07foxmulder ??? What does this even mean? Also if anyone is a drama queen it’s you, complaining about how the climax scene was cheesy somehow ?? And the gun shots sounded stupid? Drama queen .
The scene where they reveal the bat mobile was maybe the most badass thing I’ve ever seen. It was like it was more than just a machine, it was a wild unhinged beast, and the beast was MAD. And the resulting car chase was INCREDIBLE
The part of the car chase when the explosion happens with the 18 wheelers and the batmobile jumps through it.. the few seconds of suspense with Penguin looking through the rear view mirror... oh my word how awesome it was
I liked the GCPD escape and how Robert Pattinson expressed the fear of actually having to jump off the building like he did, really shows how he is learning how to be "batman"
That was my take on it as well. That scene was cinematic genius and so detailed that it took me beyond the obvious daring-do of the Batman. It showed, as great films do, the audience what he had to go through to become the iconic character. Plus I loved how he didn't have all his gadgets perfected, and everything on him had a purpose. To me, the devil was in the details. Pattinson was awesome in his own subdued way, again, showing not telling us how the Batman affected the landscape....with silence as Chris so rightly pointed out.
I didn’t like it the idea of Batman is that he has no fear he turned his fear into what motivates him so I feel like if he was afraid of gliding he should have been conquered that fear
@@uditvedantmishra9719 so let me ask you this if he was scared to fight a crowd of people because he was scared hypothetically would you say the same my point is it’s been previously established during his travels around the world before becoming Batman he conquered all his fears

When Matt Reeves talked about a sequel, he specifically named Mr Freeze as a possible next villain, because he wants to find the grounded version of him. I would love to see Mr Freeze done right on the big screen
@@Snavels Yeah Mr. Freeze shows up in Season 2. I would also love to see Mr. Freeze as the next villain. Matt Reeves himself mentioned the Telltale games in an interview, and I felt their influence in this movie, from the suit to the way characters react differently to Batman and Bruce, something that Telltale did well.
the air of Batmans presence was phenomenal, felt like a 3hr cutscene of the Arkham games.. Reeves' focus on the elements... darkness/light... silence/sound.. i legit felt like i was Batman at times
He’s seems very Terminator-esk in his presence and way of facing fights. It was interesting take that worked, but I felt he needed a bit more sneaking around and taking out the baddies before they even and see him.
I have to say that to me was one of the best entrances in a movie I've seen of a main character. Hearing him land, then the footsteps and anticipation build and appear out of the shadows looking complete bad ass, loved it.
I absolutely love how Batman is portrayed as still getting over his parent's death and still figuring himself out as Wayne as well as Batman, it's a great detail and it is brought home when he realizes he needs to do more than just inspire fear and brutalize the criminals. I'm with you on those footsteps coming from the darkness, it is so Batman and chill inspiring.
@Random Chance maybe they wanted to show like a connection that Batman has to robin here, he wants to make robin not become him and be better, idk seems like a good reason.
@@danielp1994 Noir A genre of crime film or fiction characterized by cynicism, fatalism, or moral ambiguity. It seems like this film fits that category relatively well.
I very much enjoyed that touch on his character. I’m the end, you could read his body language that he wants Selina to stay and he wanted to kiss her, but his anxiety just didn’t allow him to do so
Imo the best scene is when Falcone's men are shooting at him in the dark and all we can see of the fight is intermittent flashes from the gunfire while he's kicking everyone's ass.
The scene where he cuts the cord and near-electrocutes himself to rise up again, light a flare and become what Gotham needs him to be was absolutely, unbelievably moving. That scene is ingrained into my brain and it was so damn uplifting and good, and this shit needs to be a trilogy. Matt Reeves deserves all the praise coming his way.
@@melonshimadaa9545 He cut the cord because it was about to shock the water below and people below. I think. I'm a little dumb. But I'm pretty sure that's why he cut it. The part that came off and fell with him was obviously disconnected to the rest of it that was broken and shocking. So yeah, he pretty much was ready to sacrifice himself to save people from being electrocuted. I think. Let me know if I'm wrong.
The thing that I found most surprising was how legitimately unsettling Paul Dano's Riddler was. He came off like a real life serial killer, while also feeling like a real domestic terrorist. I was legitimately terrified in the last third when their plan was revealed. But I also found the film to be surprisingly inspiring and touching. The scene of Batman leading all the people out of the flood was beautiful and symbolic of how even in an ugly world, there will always be good people to lead us out of the darkness.
totally agree, i love how the movie shows that he is (going to be) a hero, not just fighting crime and being broody and all that, almost made me cry haha
Yeah also the psychology on him thinking that him and Batman were doing this to Gotham together was really symbolizing how much of a psychopathy he was.
But I found him as Heath Joker-wanna-be. From his videos on TV and his laugh. It was so cringy like when he said "aaaaaaa" near the end when talking to Batman
The way they revealed the Batmobile, the way you see Bruce walk up in his Batman costume with the music. Honestly, the scenes wouldn’t be as amazing as they were without the music. The music just amplified everything.
@Budgie Cat the engine was backfiring because it was shown in the batcave he had been tinkering with it, probably the first time he fired up the jet booster on that thing.
@@olivercrespo2329 Yup the engine stalled - something that will never be shown in the earlier movies but this seems this is the first time the Batmobile is being used - so it works 🔥
Awesome yes, but not very well thought out.. at least a few drivers died in that fireball.. all the emphasis on not killing through the rest of the movie just felt a bit off
I agree, the voice-over made this movie special...it gave us a glimpse into his thought process, which has never been explored in the other Batman movies. It added something to the overall tone.
I think a great aspect of the movie that due to its hyper realism, when he was called freak throughout the movie so much it really put into perspective that this isn’t a superhero. Not yet. But he’s a detective, and dressed like Batman you get the sense that he is some kind of freak. This was the perfect Batman movie. And Pattinson absolutely destroyed the role as ledger did joker. Imagine ledgers joker and Pattinson Batman. Oh I get chills imagining that
The scene when they revealed the batmobile gave me chills. The engine revving up and getting louder and louder followed by a few back fires, you really feel the Shockwaves in the theater. Probably my best moment in a theater.
Yeah the look on Penguin's face when the turbojet engine starts spooling up was priceless. And I beleive the funniest part of the movie was when he started screaming in victory "I GOT CHU! I GOT CHUUUUU!" only to look in horror when the batmobile return from the explosion.
This was my favorite little detail in the movie: In the first scene where the Riddler is standing behind Mitchell and in the scene where he pops up from the back of the DA's car, I thought, "He really doesn't think anyone is going to notice him being right there." Then, near the end, when Batman talks to him, the Riddler says "For my entire life I felt like I was invisible."
I love how every time Batman enters a scene, you hear his boots first before you actually see him, which makes it more ominous/menacing. Also the new Batman theme that they play for his entrances makes them even better.
I love that Batman says that he has to "force" himself to remember everything that happened on a given night because he's so tired from his long hours patrolling the city. It really added to the realism of it, showing his mental state and that he has to write down everything and record everything for evidence or he'll forget.
Yup! The version of Batman right before and during the early issues of Knightfall are my favorite. Dude is so burnt out, so tired, so injured from night after night of fighting but he still forces himself to keep going until he literally gets his back broken
The moment when the penguin actually needed to walk like a penguin because his feet where tied together was such a creative way to bring this little "fan service, easter egg" kind of thing into the movie.
He also walks with a limp in other scenes. I thought he got the name because he "waddles" around. Probably what Batguano meant by his dig at Oz' reputation.
saw this movie for the first time last night and bruuuhh IT WAS A MASTERPIECE!!!!! the ending had me in tears as he held on that torch as he guided those people while also feeling guilty that deep down, he’s one of the reasons why these people suffer. Pattinson really portrayed this role really well!!!
Ahh, shit, here we go again with those big words of praise, let's slow down. 2:06 That's exactly why it's frustrating, they put so much care into it, yet there's a million little problems that even a blind man could see and a mediocre director/writer could fix. yet they didn't i mean wtf. Agree, people like the Snyder cut of Justice League, but it was still dogshit. The iterations of those characters are glass thin and campy. This Batman is like the pro where the others are all on the varsity squad.
@@elliotjames5172 This guy gets it. Snyder version just further polished a turd. The only character done even remotely properly in that continuity for me was Diana/Wonder Woman but only in her first solo film. Bats in BvsS was a decent rendition of Frank Miller's DKR Batman but still not perfect. The rest are garbage and yes I love Henry Cavill and the dude looks like Superman/Kal El/Clark Kent and I truly believe he would be perfect if someone who understood the character wrote a film for him. Otherwise it's all trash. This is the best thing we've had since Nolans films. This stands equal to TDK to me.
Me too. Maybe it’s the millennial in me, but I could relate to the amount of emotional exhaustion he has. He is definitely a hard worker and super zoned in, but maybe how he is focusing his energy isn’t what is working for him. Towards the end, he has his epiphany about what he needs to do next and it hopefully sets him on a better path.
And it also shows the flaws of Bruce Wayne and how he's not immune to the biases he grew up with as a rich kid. Assuming for a second that the prostitute has a "choice" on whom she sleeps with.
More than that, I really like how in this version being Batman is CLEARLY taking a toll on Bruce Wayne. I never bought the idea that a guy who spends all night fighting crime can put up a farce of being a spoiled playboy by day, so I like that they make the point that in this world bruce is a recluse
Can we all collectively agree that *Colin Farrell nailed the Penguin so well* ? He literally became the character itself , that’s why folks said he is completely unrecognisable. He definitely went a 180 with this long after his role as Bullseye Paul Dano played the Riddler role really well, I wish we seen more of his face , that one scene with him in that jail cell was amazing. His facial expression with the smirk conveyed he is crazy deep down, an ordinary person on the outside but a psychopath on the inside. This was a decent Batman movie, the sequels are definitely gonna be something special
All I can say that Dano's performance as Riddler is just as good as Heath Ledger as the Joker. Yeah I said it. And I feel bad for some parents in my theater. Yes, that's a good point. Things are a bit messy in Gotham that won't be solved because one criminal genius, who was one step ahead of the police, was put behind bars. Sure, the riddles were simple...and the Riddler was having fun with it. It tickled me a little when he called them out as "great" detectives. The next one should be awesome, hopefully. This one kind of reminded me of Batman Begins, where he learns and adapts as he goes along. 2 year Batman is not going to have all the answers...were there missteps in this movie, of course, but I loved that Reeves went "balls out" - I'm going back to see it again.
Same here, it was absolutely incredible seeing the riddler be made a threatening and serious villain for once, it kept the stakes small for most of the film with only a few murders here and there, but then the plan to completely upscale his plan by flooding Gotham was brutal. My jaw dropped. Such an incredible film
The first 20mins of the movie was easily my favourite part, from Riddler's first appearance to the way Bruce explains how criminals fear him lurking in the shadows with Michael Giacchino's score playing over it, shivers. Cinema perfection.
Me too. How the cops didn’t trust him as well. Throughout the move he was called a freak several times. You get that sense. It’s like you’re looking at Batman through the eyes of everyone else there
10/10 movie. My favourite scene was right at the end where Batman & Catwoman were riding through the cemetery overtaking each other like they were kids playing a game. Two singularly lonely solo creatures of the night having a playful moment together. It was tiny touches like this that makes this the best Batman movie for me.

This was a movie for Batman fans, straight up. Anyone who thinks its boring and Batman is too emo, clearly has never read a Batman comic.
Well put. Reeves set the tone damn near perfectly with the quiet, observant and intelligent Batman solving riddles with Gordon (loved their chemistry).
Read all or most of Batman comics, the big stories anyway, and this was taint sweat from Ron Jeremy. So overhyped was this movie I thought I'd hear Flavor-Flav in the terribly-lit background trying to cheer up an eternally depressed Emo-Batman.
Yes batman was great. But his Bruce Wayne Where's the charisma? Where's his power? I get this is year two batman, but it's the only thing I didn't enjoy. Kinda reminded me of Jason Todd honestly. Setting that aside though the movie was fantastic.
I love the narration at the start, because most Batman books start with Batman thoughts or a narration, then it worked way more when you see he was actually writting a journal of sorts. This might be my favorite Batman movie
Unfortunately I rewatched the Batman LEGO Movie about two weeks ago. Hard to take that narration seriously when you are hearing LEGO Batman in your mind...
I really enjoyed the narration. it felt a lot like "Rorschach's diary.." but thats not a bad thing. its Bruce/Batman barely holding on to his own sanity and filled with that same hatred for the criminals destroying the city. The difference is how they deal with that and how they end up.
Man I love how he started off being Batman and symbolizing Vengeance and ended the movie realizing him symbolizing vengeance is inspiring criminals and comes to a realization to symbolize justice.
The scene where the riddler tells Batman his backstory about being an orphan and he tears up and see how similar they really are. Plus how much worse his life was without the billions of dollars to make being an orphan go down a little easier. Is the best scene without a doubt.
@@georgebeard3300 he might have qualified as an anti-hero if he was just killing the legitimately bad people, but the stunt with the sea wall? Nah, massacring a city isn’t antiheroism; that’s villainy. Also, he specifically targets Bruce Wayne, who did nothing to him. He was jealous that Bruce got attention as an orphan while he and the other orphans were left forgotten. Was that tragic? Yes. Was it Bruce’s fault? Hell no, he was a kid!
That scene was pretty deep. Personally, I thought the scene where Bruce finds out his parents weren’t exactly saints and did business with crime boss Falcone, to keep the family’s secrets safe was even crazier.. that was such a plot twist to me.. I’m glad Reeves decided to add that type of aspect to this movie. It really makes you look at the Wayne family from a different perspective, understanding that having all the money in the world isn’t everything. Great film.
I really hated how they kept calling him “vengeance” in the trailers bc I thought it was so corny. But I really loved how that name tied to the theme in the third act when the Riddler henchman said “I am vengeance”. It really highlighted Batman’s character arc. This film really felt like an origin film without being an origin film and I love that. You don’t need to show how a superhero learns to fight or gets his costume in order to show how they actually become a superhero. The MCU Spider-Man trilogy did the same thing and I love that approach.
As someone who has read countless batman comic books, having those monologues was a fucking genius decision. It's the one element synonymous with the comics that wasn't adapted before, and it immediately skyrocketed my appreciation for this version. It just doesn't get more comic book Batman than having a crime journal.
The way this movie opens showing the reaction that the bat signal has on criminals… It just did something really special for me. That’s the power of Batman
That whole intro sequence alone felt like an ending to a whole other movie. But it being at the start of the movie just hyped me up so much for this new Batman
dude this scene was fantastic! it was the perfect way to set up the tone for this batman. it genuinely felt more like a thriller or a horror movie than a superhero movie.
This. The only time I felt this scared of the riddler was when I was a kid watching The Batman cartoon. Not BTAS, it’s the one from 2004? I think? He was lanky and creepy
Batman has tons of amazing villains, they just barely use them. We don’t need another Joker, there are tons of other worthy adversaries Scarecrow, Two-Face, Hush, etc
@@georgeaguilar3414 Yes they have amazing villains. I just wish the DCU could do them justice like Marvel has for villains such as Thanos. Ledger's Joker being the exception.
Robert definitely knows how to play batman. He's cold and calculating always serious scanning the room. His fights and brutality doesn't come off as over dramatic. Him coming out of those shadows was literally comic book worthy.
@@CoolhandLukeSkywalkr I think this is how Bruce Wayne might actually be like in his first few years of becoming the vigilantine. Cold, calculation, and don't wanna do anything else but get rid of the crimes from his hometown. I mean, the other versions of Mr Wayne we've seen are him when he getting older and has more experiences and he already knows how to just enjoy the billionaire part of him.
I really enjoyed this movie, it makes batman a badass like he should be, yet having a very interesting plot. The ridler is now one of my favorite batman villains
The music and the sound design is fucking phenomenal. Every piece of music, every sound effect, everything about how the movie sounds compliments the scene, the shot and the story so much and I can't help but love it.
Here was the score. Weird, awkward Riddler who might as well have been wearing a red Trump hat, 10...Nirvana-inspired, eye shadow laden Emo- Batman zero.
My favorite scene is when Bruce is arriving at the funeral. The music perfectly conveys his silent thoughts amongst the craziness of the city of Gotham. Beautiful film.
That scene shot upsidedown after the chase scene with the Penguin was epic heroism. The cape blowing in the breeze with flames rising behind him was so satisfying.
Something I really liked about Pattinson as Batman was how subtle his performance is. He comes off like a guy clinging to the last shit he gives, and it works really well.
talk about subtle moments, the juxtaposition from the heavy sounding footsteps at first appearance vs the slow tired walk to Afred's bedside was beautiful.. swore Alfred was dead iono what happened i was dabbing at the drive in ha..
Amazing movie. I love when they make these superhero movies very realistic. First the joker. Now the Batman. Pattinson was great in the suit, but looked really anorexic in normal clothes lol great movie though.
I love that detail though. like yeah he's probably wearing a shit ton of gear which would make him look beefier. but he is just a guy, a rich guy with gear and time to be the batman
Best scene for me, in a film full of great scenes, was when Batman fell into the water. That was basically his baptism and being born again into becoming a symbol of hope instead of a symbol of vengeance.
I like how in the beginning the guy he was saving from the gang was scared of him but in the end the girl in the stretcher was reaching for him because she felt safe. It shows how not only changed his own perspective, but the people’s perspective too of him.
Yeah I noticed that too. That was a really good character arc, people's point of view of him changing in him. Understanding that he had to change, I think it's going to make the second one be even better because we were able to watch him mature. I think the second one will be better than the dark Knight.
What really impressed me was that part when Riddler was locked up and was reciting Bruce Wayne and we went: "oh shit he knows Bruce is Bats?!" And then it went on to show that no, the riddler doesn't yet know that and Bats showed a sign of relief. All of that scene happened with Pattinson's Batman absolutely not talking at all, i felt his emotions all just by his gestures. He's such a phenomenal actor
@@aishymoo5 hey don't be so hard on yourself. I also missed that part when one of riddler's goons had that scotch taped onto his face as if he was Batman, and recited: " I am vengeance." I totally missed the point the film was showing that what Batman was trying to do prior was actually detrimental to Gotham's society. I only realized it now.. this really is such a great movie
I really liked how the riddler revealed that Martha Wayne was someone that frequents the Arkham Asylum.. knowing that there are psychiatric disorders that run in families, its possible that Bruce may have inherited some of that as well. It could explain why he is the way he is bec in spite of having a dark origin story, it still isnt normal to dress up like a bat, beat up criminals, and spend your millions on tech for your vigilante crusade. I know, it is all fiction. But that detail makes this film feel all the more grounded in reality.
I remember in the theater when Alfred said something about "the circus" and I turned to my friend and went "the _Andy_ circus" and he nearly laughed so hard the entire theater heard it. 10/10 movie.
I love how the penguin calls batman vengeance. It’s fits in so well with the penguins charicter and the penguins portail in this move was fantastic and so gritty and realistic. That scene that I’m surprise somebody else picked up on when the riddlers guy turns around was fucking polorising, and I loved it. Made you really mind fuck like you could understand were the villains came from so you could exactly pick a side
I really loved the sound design and music choices. Did anyone else notice during the chase scene with Penguin, when he runs over all the traffic cones; the sound of them hitting matched the beat of the music in the background. It was a very small detail, but it made the scene even cooler than it already was
Man that beginning sequence of showing the criminals looking in the darkness when the bat signal goes up was so good. Was waiting for them to convey batman that way.
I love how at the beginning, the vandals and the armed robber are doing their thing with impunity, but as soon as the bat signel goes off, they GTFO. I especially love the scene where the armed robber is staring down the dark alley, he looked like he was pissing and shitting himself at the mere chance that Batman just might be hiding in the shadows.
The muzzle flash fight scene was incredible. However, I was bothered that he was able to walk through those bullets like they were nothing, then gets HAMMERED by the shotgun blast in the end.
@@ComedyBros5 the shotgun blast he took to the back in the iceberg lounge literally knocked him off his balance so there was a sense of realism to those shooting scenes still
Right?? And at the end of the car chase scene when penguin is stuck in his flipped car, and we get this long shot from his POV as Batman slowly gets out of the bat mobile and stalks towards him with heavy footsteps… that part was truly chilling!!
I love how similar they made Batman and the Riddler. It started with a shot of Riddler's point of view looking at the mayor. Batman had the same kind of shot looking at Selina. Batman's perspective looked so much more creepier as well.
Yes I noticed this! The round lense over the camera. To trick you for a moment into thinking it’s the riddler again and then you’re like oh no it is actually Batman. Loved it
@@emmadow4880 When it was the Riddler, I thought it was Batman. And when he first was in the shadows, I definitely thought it was Batman. I was surprised when it was the Riddler. Batman would be such a scary villain.
The club scenes were incredible, for me at least. The cinematography was top notch. We always had this idea of what the iceberg lounge looked like from the comics and tv, but the way they made it seem like more of a noir, feel good inc. type club where drug use is rampant really made a lot of sense. I feel like a lot of that darkness in relation to Gotham is what the Nolan trilogy was missing. It felt like a more videogame-accurate Gotham. NOT saying the Nolan trilogy was bad by any means, it just didn't have what this has. More of an Arkham Asylum type Gotham.
@@razatiger22 I thought this interetation of Selina was great, even if she hasn't fully become Catwoman yet. Will be interesting to see how she evolves in the sequels after going to Bludhaven.

I love that his Batman voice isn't loud or rough. His version of Batman is much more observant and he takes in a lot of information form his surroundings. It make sense that his voice is much more quiet compared to Christian Bale.
This isn't just a batman movie it's a thriller. It feels like horror some times. This is a perfect bruce wayne for some one who had been through traumatic events. He was a recluse so Whenever he was in public in the light he was it was almost like he was vulnerable, ill like a vampire. You could see and feel his despair. His somber was really really grim.
YES YES YESSSSS! EVERYTIME Pattinson came on I felt hope AND terror. The combination of acting, directing, cinematography, the score even! FFS It IS AMAZING !
I love Batman’s evolution through the movie. Starting out with more selfish motivations and then realizing he needs to be something more to actually change Gotham for the better. An angry symbol of fear and vengeance to a more hopeful beacon. It’s a more flawed, vulnerable portrayal that really pays off.
@@joemajor2553 him trying is making it worse. Seriously I dont even know what these fanboys like about Batman. Hes abusive, manipulative, failure as hero, father and even as a man, yet he still plays the victim and guardian. All he is is an edgy manchild with a bat fetish.
The Batman is an immersive piece of cinema from Director Matt Reeves. He approaches this age-old character with acute precision and deft ambition. This is very much a “bat-centric” movie, the screenplay is written with labyrinth effect, supplying depth and dimension to Batman’s inner struggles whilst establishing Gotham city as a nihilistic world. The neo-noir-detective-style narrative reinforces Matt’s passion for the lore allowing the audience to relish in an experience that is consistently engrossing throughout. The performances are superb, Patterson nails his stamp as the dark knight, what’s most impressive is his eyes and facial expressions. Reeves ensures his skills as a director by conveying an introspective version of the character, often utilising various closeup shots of the dark knight, allowing us an audience to remain up close and personal with our protagonist. This is his signature motif. The supporting cast for this particular Batman piece is majestic, everyone owns their part. Especially Colin Farrell as cobbletop aka the penguin. He steals every scene that he’s in whilst Jeffrey Wright’s - Jim Gordon is very “hands on” and his transition into the role is seamless. The score produced by Michael Giccinho is simply remarkable. Every note and symphony elevates each scene, giving it that extra bit of gravitas. Paul Dano’s performance as the Riddler is a sound effort on his part although I have slight issues with the resolution of his arc, it is a solid act nonetheless. Yes this film lives up the hype and expectations. Technically, narratively and tonally this is the perfect Batman film. 8/10.
Wasn't sure I'd like it but after just watching it I can honestly say it's the best one yet. Robert Pattinson was brilliant as were all the actors, love tye cinematography and the music, it was dark and the director captured it in all the scenes.
It’s great because we actually get to witness the moment batman realizes vengeance isn’t the answer, it’s justice. Perfection as a Batman fan. Justice not vengeance.
Reeves absolutely gets how film noir works. He also gets Batman on a character level...and Pattinson nailed it. I'm interested to see how he grows as playing the playboy aspect of Bruce.
I watched this movie last night and I gotta say, this is by far the best cinematic rendition of the caped crusader since the dark knight graced the big screen. I love the fact that the film opted to take us on a journey alongside the worlds greatest detective as he solved clues and chased down leads left behind by the films main antagonist. I was skeptical at first when news first surfaced of Robert Pattison dawning the infamous cowl but man I have never been so happy to be proven wrong. He truly brought the emotional trauma and conflict to life for us to witness when playing Bruce Wayne and how he transforms into such a dreadful thought for menacing law breakers once he was in that epic suit sent chills down my back. I think the worst thing anyone can do when going into this epic Gem is over analyzing it, your too consumed about all the trivial details it distracts you from generally enjoying the film. Also what's important to note is that this movie takes place during the 2nd or third year of Batman coming into existence, with that said our hero hasn't completely fine tuned his abilities to hide his pain while wearing those Billionaire shoes, hence why you can see dark brooding character similarities between the Billionaire and his Vigilante alter ego.. The grim deteriorating state of Gotham and the dark filter used added such a hopelessness to the general feel of the movie and watching on as the film progresses seeing how Gotham embraces its most infamous hero at the very end made the journey so much more rewarding. The story line, the acting, the cinematography, the fight scenes, the score and every thing else was off tap. Brilliantly crafted and may just well be in my opinion the greatest take on the caped crusader ever. 10/10.
since this is a spoiler chat. I noticed catwoman wasnt apart of the funeral scene, some of the first leaked images of the movie showed her being there. Curious if this was due to the reshoots or changing her story up
@@renzorro2001 no no hes talking about smth else. before the release of the movie, set photos were released where in that scene, it was actually selina with falcone.
Reeves talked about doing this sort of thing to stop predictions. Eg: having Barry dressed up as a cop on some sets to prevent guessing what character he actually is. So i think Reeves would have put Zoe on set for something along these lines, or to throw you off when you think she's getting out of the limo with her father. Perhaps even to really shock the people that like analyzing leaked set photos
@@shafqatalam6018 yes. He's saying they shot the distance shots with her so that when Bruce sees her, the audience is also seeing her, but then realizes it's someone else. They shot her from behind so that the audience would also think it was her.
Somehow, Paul Dano made me actually feel sorry for the riddler for like a whole minute lol. Just when he’s happy his plan worked and he genuinely believes him and Bruce are a team, only to be brutally cut down by Bruce. You can see the return to loneliness as he realises he’s misjudged Bruce. Great performance, I was genuinely spooked by him, angered by him and pitiful towards him.
Him elongated his words like that was funny but intense the more menacing he becomes the more whimsical he becomes like the riddler persona trying to come out of him he displays a slight multiple personality disorder
I really enjoy the performance. However, the character was less Riddler and much more Hush. The design, the grudge against the Wayne's, and serial killer traits. I wish they would have just committed to using Hush, but the movie was still good regardless.
I especially LOVE the scene near the beginning where chriminals are looking in the shadows, thinking that the batman was there. It shows how much fear he struck in those people without actually being there.
I totally loved that. Robert Pattinson’s Batman is the Boogeyman and, if you were a criminal on the streets of Gotham, you really do feel his presence.
I love that scene too, great build up. but i don't understand the character's establishment in the beginning. how long has he been batman?. the way how the goons response when they finally saw him doesn't make sense. Literaly only 1 guy was scared of him. Others was like who tf is this dude?, let's kick his ass.
A masterpiece in story telling, visuals, acting...I was totally surprised with this movie. Making Batman not so much as a spot light hero, but more like an in the shadows spector. Zoe was spot on as catwoman. Having these two characters sharing psychological tramas leading their motives was incredibly rewarding. I've always enjoyed Batman Movies, but this was a different vision that for me was more exciting and fitting for all characters. Making them all more " human" gave this movie such a better aspect of emotional magnetism. I'll watch this again.
Pattinson’s acting when he thought the riddler found out his identity was so good. He looked so scared that his identity was found out, and then you see his facial expression change so fast when he realizes riddler doesn’t know.
Amazing scene, totally!
i kinda wish riddler did find out but decides not to tell people, i think that was a thing in the comics but im not sure.
@@gevoian it is a thing in the comics

The introverted version of Batman being portrayed in this film was spot on!
Yet, billionaire, entrepreneur, crime fighter, detective, muscle car driver, . That is not your typical introvert. I liked his acting. I just felt they shrunk his profile to introvert, gloomy, depressed. Perhaps they used the riddler as a wake up call for the character. Dunno.

I really like the twist that he inspired his villains. He realizes that his whole vengeance message is inspiring the wrong people and at the end he turns to inspire hope. A good character arc that make me excited to see the future of this character

😂😂 great catch
A pleasant moment of justice.
@@barryb.benson3370 It’s like crediting the lead singer but not the whole band. And the drummer wrote the song

That's one of the main reasons he recognised Bruce at the funeral. He was already aware of Riddler's plan.

Noir
A genre of crime film or fiction characterized by cynicism, fatalism, or moral ambiguity.
It seems like this film fits that category relatively well.
The social anxiety that Pattinson portrays as Bruce Wayne in public vs how it completely sheds off when he is Batman was so well done.
I very much enjoyed that touch on his character. I’m the end, you could read his body language that he wants Selina to stay and he wanted to kiss her, but his anxiety just didn’t allow him to do so
That was a great detail
yes incels like us may look to the bat as a symbol of "nope" now.
The absolute best scene in this movie is when he finally realizes what he needs to be for Gotham.
The car chase was my favorite action sequence but you’re right
Imo the best scene is when Falcone's men are shooting at him in the dark and all we can see of the fight is intermittent flashes from the gunfire while he's kicking everyone's ass.
My favourite was when Batman was standing in shadow in the opening of the movie !
IM WHATEVUGH GOTTTAM NEIHGS MEH THOBEEEE
Cool epic moments bro. Tell another
Can we also pause a moment to acknowledge how incredible John Turturro is in this movie? 100% convincing as Falcone.
Wait I didn’t get that… why would he cut the chord it felt a little dramatic… couldn’t he have just jumped down, or glided down, or grappled down ?
@@melonshimadaa9545 same it felt quite pointless to me
@@melonshimadaa9545 cos the cable was electrocuting shit
@@melonshimadaa9545 He cut the cord because it was about to shock the water below and people below. I think. I'm a little dumb. But I'm pretty sure that's why he cut it. The part that came off and fell with him was obviously disconnected to the rest of it that was broken and shocking. So yeah, he pretty much was ready to sacrifice himself to save people from being electrocuted. I think. Let me know if I'm wrong.
@@melonshimadaa9545 my take is that he cut it so that it couldnt electrocute the people below or just get down asap.
@Rafael HAHAHAH IKR, the riddler talking like a youtuber lmaaooo
Yeah also the psychology on him thinking that him and Batman were doing this to Gotham together was really symbolizing how much of a psychopathy he was.
But I found him as Heath Joker-wanna-be. From his videos on TV and his laugh. It was so cringy like when he said "aaaaaaa" near the end when talking to Batman
He always comes off like that! Haha
The way they revealed the Batmobile, the way you see Bruce walk up in his Batman costume with the music. Honestly, the scenes wouldn’t be as amazing as they were without the music. The music just amplified everything.
I agree. It just goes to show how important a good soundtrack is
I think the scene introducing the batmobile gave me the most feels of the entire movie hahah it was incredible.
This should be the official Batman theme from now on
@Budgie Cat the engine was backfiring because it was shown in the batcave he had been tinkering with it, probably the first time he fired up the jet booster on that thing.
@@olivercrespo2329 Yup the engine stalled - something that will never be shown in the earlier movies but this seems this is the first time the Batmobile is being used - so it works 🔥
This was one of the best looking movies I've seen in a long time. Just outstanding cinematography. Had such a unique look and color grade
The Batmobile reveal was so terrifying and intense. So many CHILLS. It was like watching Godzilla fight for the first time.
Yea that was one of my favorite scenes of the movie. Just the sounds alone was really cool. Building the intensity.
YEAH!!! That scene was amazing!!
By the time he hits Penguin everyone in my theater was yelling and hollering it was so well shot
Awesome yes, but not very well thought out.. at least a few drivers died in that fireball.. all the emphasis on not killing through the rest of the movie just felt a bit off
The way the engine screams
The opening voice over was when I realized that this isn't just another Batman movie, this is actually a movie about Batman.
Me too. I thought it was epic.
I agree, the voice-over made this movie special...it gave us a glimpse into his thought process, which has never been explored in the other Batman movies. It added something to the overall tone.
It’s also about crime.
“I’ve gotta choose my targets carefully”
The Dolby sound experience made that scene 10x better.
Yeah the look on Penguin's face when the turbojet engine starts spooling up was priceless. And I beleive the funniest part of the movie was when he started screaming in victory "I GOT CHU! I GOT CHUUUUU!" only to look in horror when the batmobile return from the explosion.
That moment alone made me buy another ticket to watch again the next day
I was going to comment just for that part. Amazing moment.
I'm going to see Batman again solely to experience that chase scene holy crap was it amazing.
@Chuck Buskee maybe he walks in a certain way to make it noisy ? Idk but maybe he can do that to make his entrance intimidating when necessary
I bet you'd like to knock Batman's boots
I love that Batman says that he has to "force" himself to remember everything that happened on a given night because he's so tired from his long hours patrolling the city.
It really added to the realism of it, showing his mental state and that he has to write down everything and record everything for evidence or he'll forget.
Yup! The version of Batman right before and during the early issues of Knightfall are my favorite. Dude is so burnt out, so tired, so injured from night after night of fighting but he still forces himself to keep going until he literally gets his back broken
That eye tech was masterful 👏🏽👏🏽

@@bigdadybojangls9219 How do I do that ol sage? Is it the eye shadow he wears in Knightfall? I missed that key detail.
The moment when the penguin actually needed to walk like a penguin because his feet where tied together was such a creative way to bring this little "fan service, easter egg" kind of thing into the movie.
lol i didnt even realize it till now
He also walks with a limp in other scenes. I thought he got the name because he "waddles" around. Probably what Batguano meant by his dig at Oz' reputation.
It's fan service to hint at what a character should really be?
Plus he always walks like that. That's why they called him a gimp.
YES!
saw this movie for the first time last night and bruuuhh IT WAS A MASTERPIECE!!!!! the ending had me in tears as he held on that torch as he guided those people while also feeling guilty that deep down, he’s one of the reasons why these people suffer.
The ending? They once again, went to big to quick. Can we have a guy in a costume solving crimes and arresting MF's or does every little hero have to be larger then life it self?! This Batman has no business existing in the same universe as the latest Aquaman, Flash, Wonder Woman, etc.
This film was too damn good. Didn't notice it was 3 hours long. I'm hooked, I'm sold. I want more.
The rest are garbage and yes I love Henry Cavill and the dude looks like Superman/Kal El/Clark Kent and I truly believe he would be perfect if someone who understood the character wrote a film for him. I love how Batman was vulnerable here. Like a man just doing his best with the resources he has.
Yes I liked that too. It actually shows that it really was his 2nd year fighting crime and that he’s still figuring things out.
Billions of dollars worth of resources 🤣 loved this movie!!
More than that, I really like how in this version being Batman is CLEARLY taking a toll on Bruce Wayne. I never bought the idea that a guy who spends all night fighting crime can put up a farce of being a spoiled playboy by day, so I like that they make the point that in this world bruce is a recluse
I LOVE the fact that this whole movie takes place at night, but you can see every detail. Such great lighting and silhouette effects!
Most dark films you can see zilch, but here it compliments it
Can we all collectively agree that *Colin Farrell nailed the Penguin so well* ? He literally became the character itself , that’s why folks said he is completely unrecognisable. He definitely went a 180 with this long after his role as Bullseye
Paul Dano played the Riddler role really well, I wish we seen more of his face , that one scene with him in that jail cell was amazing. His facial expression with the smirk conveyed he is crazy deep down, an ordinary person on the outside but a psychopath on the inside. John turturro was surprisedly good as Carmine Falcone considering his previous roles
I wish we could’ve gotten the Court of owls connection with the Wayne family , that’s the only letdown for me
Robert Pattinson - a great Batman
Zoe Kravitz - She was a good Catwoman
Jeffery wright - a great Jim Gordon
We finally got a detective based Batman after so long. This was a decent Batman movie, the sequels are definitely gonna be something special
All I can say that Dano's performance as Riddler is just as good as Heath Ledger as the Joker. Yeah I said it. And I feel bad for some parents in my theater. Dano's performance as Riddler was so scary to the point some children wanted to leave with their parents 😂😂😂. I guess this isn't just your average normal PG13 comic book movie
i went-in wanting to love pattinsons performance, but yeh, Colin stole the movie

Right but wondering why they changed is name to Parker
He did a 180 you mean. 360 would mean he was back where he started.

Gotham is in the worst state that it's ever been, crime is at an all time high, and Batman's workload just quadrupled. I don't think we've ever gotten an ending to a Batman movie on that level. I'm freakin pumped for the next one.
Bro. Batman begins shows the city of Gotham full of fear toxin and all the criminals being left to roam. The Dark Knight shows a hospital blown, Harvey dent dies, Rachel dies, and it shows in the next movie The Dark Knight rises and how it affected Batman. And the Dark Knight Rises is the only one that shows a back to "normal" Gotham and even then Gotham was destroyed for 5 months from Bane. Then you got people who HAVEN'T seen the movie, give it a 10/10 just to be relatable and repeat what the last sheep said. My previous comments might have offended you and I don't apologize for that. If you're a true fan, you would realize this is an okay movie at best. But this has been over hyped since day one, the whole cast was mid at best except for Penguin. And Riddle me this, why is this Batman so invincible? He took gunshots, a rifle from 5 feet, electrocuted, and yet he's just fine. In the warehouse scene, where he's on the floor, he somehow miraculously go 200 feet away to his batmobile. How. Because he's Batman? Before you say that this movie is the "best comic book movie"? Then just know, comic book accurate doesn't mean perfect. For an example, the Raimi trilogy, and the Nolan trilogy. And those movies are gold standards for movies and superhero movies for a reason. This is not as good as everyone says. And I'm not alone on this so I know I'm not isolated on this. Before you also try to write me off as a "Marvel fanboy", I do appreciate the marvel films, but I'm also super critical on all the MCU films as well. There is a few movies that are a 10/10 for me but this movie isn't even a week old but it's a 10/10? Sure thing.

The opening monologue is some of the greatest stuff we’ve seen in a Batman film. Incredible portrayal!

That was pretty obvious though.
The same chords on repeat during every slow burn badass Batman scene wore on me 🤷♂️
Here was the score. Weird, awkward Riddler who might as well have been wearing a red Trump hat, 10...Nirvana-inspired, eye shadow laden Emo- Batman zero.
I actually didn't like the something in way playing while people were talking was really distracting
Plus the score playing too
That scene was beyond amazing. Gave me chills.
with the score playing too, shit was badass
SOOOO many people died in that car chase hahahaha why is no one talking about that??
@@ghostboiyurei7121 No they were all just slightly injured, kinda like the Man of Steel fights.
The performance reminds me of Gosling in Drive and Bladerunner 2049.
Amazing movie. I love when they make these superhero movies very realistic. First the joker. Now the Batman. Pattinson was great in the suit, but looked really anorexic in normal clothes lol great movie though.
I'm pretty sure you have Christopher Nolan to thank for that.
I love that detail though. like yeah he's probably wearing a shit ton of gear which would make him look beefier. but he is just a guy, a rich guy with gear and time to be the batman
"Looked really anorexic" i think you meant thin and even then he still had muscle
Best scene for me, in a film full of great scenes, was when Batman fell into the water. That was basically his baptism and being born again into becoming a symbol of hope instead of a symbol of vengeance.
I like that scene too
Holy shit dude thats perfect FR!
He literally becomes a beacon of light when leading the people out of the water with the torch.... literally gave me goosebumps.
But did it literally?
I like how in the beginning the guy he was saving from the gang was scared of him but in the end the girl in the stretcher was reaching for him because she felt safe. It shows how not only changed his own perspective, but the people’s perspective too of him.
Yeah I noticed that too. That was a really good character arc, people's point of view of him changing in him. Understanding that he had to change, I think it's going to make the second one be even better because we were able to watch him mature. I think the second one will be better than the dark Knight.
I finally watched the movie. Loved the feel of the city. Kind of felt like the games
I’m so dumb I didn’t Even catch he didn’t know it was Bruce. I thought he was trying to pin it on him, the final f u to the Wayne family
@@aishymoo5 hey don't be so hard on yourself. I also missed that part when one of riddler's goons had that scotch taped onto his face as if he was Batman, and recited: " I am vengeance."
I totally missed the point the film was showing that what Batman was trying to do prior was actually detrimental to Gotham's society. I only realized it now.. this really is such a great movie
So the Riddler doesn't know that Bruce is batman?
The music in that scene. Amazing. Great fill
@@razeeem9154 Nope. He says “Bruce Wayne…We almost got him.” The Riddler up until that scene thinks Batman is on his side.
Did you say Martha? Why did you say that name? That's my mother's name XD
@@jhonnydavinci because you’re Batman duh
That was the most fascinating thing in this movie to me! It is common for mental illness to pass down from mother to son (and from son to daughter).

If you played batman the telltale series, this movie is very accurate to the episodes in the game.
I remember in the theater when Alfred said something about "the circus" and I turned to my friend and went "the _Andy_ circus" and he nearly laughed so hard the entire theater heard it. 10/10 movie.
The Circus is a name the Brits intelligence officers use for MI6 HQ in London. Alfred was a spy back in the day
@@hsehovic63 He’s also played by Andy Serkis
It's a floater
I thought it was referring to where Robin was from
In the movie theatre here in Italy it was translated "when I was in the MI-6"
I love how the penguin calls batman vengeance. It’s fits in so well with the penguins charicter and the penguins portail in this move was fantastic and so gritty and realistic. That scene that I’m surprise somebody else picked up on when the riddlers guy turns around was fucking polorising, and I loved it. Made you really mind fuck like you could understand were the villains came from so you could exactly pick a side
I really loved the sound design and music choices. Did anyone else notice during the chase scene with Penguin, when he runs over all the traffic cones; the sound of them hitting matched the beat of the music in the background. It was a very small detail, but it made the scene even cooler than it already was
I was thinking this exact thing but only noticed during my second viewing!
Ngl I was very proud of myself for noticing this too hahaa
The sound design and music choices could not have been any better for me!
I love people who pay attention to details!
I noticed it too, I thought I was crazy
The fact that Bruce always carries his backpack around so he can put the suit on if he needs to is so damn good.
The fight scene with only bullets lights , amazing. The car chase scene , amazing. The riddler 5 min performance from the prison , amazing.
The muzzle flash fight scene was incredible. However, I was bothered that he was able to walk through those bullets like they were nothing, then gets HAMMERED by the shotgun blast in the end.
@@ComedyBros5 the shotgun blast he took to the back in the iceberg lounge literally knocked him off his balance so there was a sense of realism to those shooting scenes still
Right?? And at the end of the car chase scene when penguin is stuck in his flipped car, and we get this long shot from his POV as Batman slowly gets out of the bat mobile and stalks towards him with heavy footsteps… that part was truly chilling!!
shit was boring asf. stop playing
@@ComedyBros5 but he would be deaf! Those many rounds up close… he would be deaf. Try and shoot a round… good luck!
I love how similar they made Batman and the Riddler. It started with a shot of Riddler's point of view looking at the mayor. Batman had the same kind of shot looking at Selina. Batman's perspective looked so much more creepier as well.
He was enjoying watching Catwoman getting undressed.
Selina Kyle as well as Carmine Falcone were probably the best adaptations of the characters ive ever seen. Really carried the nightclub scenes for me.
@@razatiger22 I thought this interetation of Selina was great, even if she hasn't fully become Catwoman yet. Will be interesting to see how she evolves in the sequels after going to Bludhaven.
@@razatiger22 carmine Falcone was terrible casting choice. Falcone is supposed to be scary. All I see was the dumbass dud from transformers. This whole movie was a pretty bad casting choices.
The club scenes were filmed in London’s Printworks venue, best club in london imo
@@sotorc1448 what? So nothing about his acting was bad but because you know him as something else it’s bad casting ?
Lol batman won't ever change gotham for the better. It will just get worse cause of him, then it will be rebooted. A cycle, dare I say.
Yeah that’s actually what i thought of too.
Lol well at least homie is gonna try. And in 2032 the next reboot will begin the cycle anew.
That first shot of the riddler was terrifying, the mayor had absolutely no idea that he was behind him and really made riddler a creepy fucker
Just the ave maria stalker opening and that first shot already made him a top 2 batman movie villain
SOOO CREEPY. And then him just going after the mayor. Felt like true horror.
Also the complete hatred/rage in the Riddler's eyes was terrifying.
One part that was kind of overlooked was when Alfred was deciphering the Riddle in the morning and Bruce puts on a pair of shades. That was genius.

Reeves talked about doing this sort of thing to stop predictions. Eg: having Barry dressed up as a cop on some sets to prevent guessing what character he actually is. Perhaps even to really shock the people that like analyzing leaked set photos

Great performance, I was genuinely spooked by him, angered by him and pitiful towards him.
and then he felt that with Joker instead
Him elongated his words like that was funny but intense the more menacing he becomes the more whimsical he becomes like the riddler persona trying to come out of him he displays a slight multiple personality disorder
Well he thought him and Batman were on the same team not Bruce
Funny how in Batman Forever it’s Bruce Wayne who Riddler thinks was supposed to end up being his partner.
