I was fortunate to see him perform in person on a cruise ship in Aug 2001. I asked him to sing this song for me. My mother died on Aug 2,2001. He sang this song and I will never forget it. Such a nice man!!!
Ali sang this song. God I loved his voice. And yes people with Ali he took the tempts to another dimension of vocality and his tenor was off the chain. I miss your voice Ali. there will never be another Ollie Woodson. Thank you for your blend and vocals and you are a Temptation.

Many people say that Mr. Ollie Woodson was the closest thing to David Ruffin that the Tempts would have ever since Ruffin's departure from the group. But in my opinion, Woodson set his own pedestal with the Tempts with his wide range and amazing voice that lead many of their songs

RIP....I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years back...everything printed about him is true..he was down to earth...friendly...I was back stage at Pier 6 Baltimore...Temptations pray before every show...he grabbed my hand and said come on brother pray with us....I will always remember that moment me praying with the Temps....Ollie is second to none...

I just found it a few minutes ago. When I'm invited to a wedding, I include the CD as a part of my wedding gifts. The CD includes instructions on when and how to listen to it.
I saw them in person on my 60th birthday at UIC Forum in Chi Ali said we made it a steppers hit.

Wow. I'm so glad to find this. It's been a few years since my last search for this song, by this great and talented singer whom I regret never seeing in person. So this is a delightful way to see him perform this beautiful show tune. A classy guy singing a classic song, of course there's the Temptations backing him up. Ollie, you were my favorite Voice/Lead SANGer of the Temps and that's saying something, Man, he could Riff and Croon.

Others have stated they could tell Ollie was sick. I'll be darned if I can. He sounds every bit as good as he always did here. His range, power, and energy are totally intact here. Great performance!

The Way They Were, it 3/23 and RB music is not dead but it's just not like this here. It's good for all races who have the chops to sing RB if they can. But, I miss a run and a rift that blows my mind. There's a difference now between RB and Soul music. Soul music was belted out and wrenched from the heart because of being black in America. I love raspy, gruff groans and moans coming from tenor and baritone voices, crescendoes, and glissades. Oh yes

My momma (and some Older School other Relatives) would kill me but to me,..in his prime Ollie was slightly better than: Dennis, David, and Eddie.
I love all Temp Eras and all the members but Ollie's voice just stands out more than the others to me.
