I'm 77yrs old now and am so lucky to have been young in the best musical era's of the 60's and early 70's and listening these fantastic vocalist RIP all you Motown and Soul artists who have sadly left us
So true.
So true
Yupp🎉🎉
😢❤❤loved it all
Say it Loud. I’m 70 I loved that era
These were days when music fed your soul, not a wallet like it is nowadays.
LOUDER PLEASE Truth be told 😊😊
This song reminds of The Charts”Desary”. The music of the 50’s is in my soul. Even though I’m 78 I love that do whop music. The Chi-lites too. I’m a lover of all that.
My father played the saxophone on that song. RIP DAD .
Great sax piece
The sax solos actually carried this cut to another level
"WOW."
Really damn! U must be proud
Great memories your dad left
I am still in love with this beautiful song 2024 ❤❤
We all are
One of the best songs of all time! Baby I'm For Real!!!
No doubt
Back in the day when people held each other and dancing the slow drag was popular, this was the king of all jams.
Marv the Genuis RIP
Playboy's playboy, what, who wouldn't wanna hear such ear candy
Agree
One word: Magnificent! ❤
Memories that can nvr be erased. I met my future husband at a High School " sock hop " in 1969. I went home and told my parents I met the man I was going to marry..they just laughed. Six months later I married that man. We are still married. Thank you Marvin Gaye, thank you to the Originals for a song that crushed our hearts and gave a life time of memories. Fifty five years and still learning, loving and growing.
Beautiful
This was lovely. Memories of '69 come flodding back.
Hat off for the late great Marvin Gaye, ❤ Baby I'm for real!!!
You don’t hear songs like this anymore. Excellent job love this song and their other songs I never hear the Bells❤ April 2024❤❤
@DEdwardChaney I absolutely love love your music The Bells 👍♥️ Baby I’m for Real knocked it out of the park❤️❤️✅
The first concert I ever attended featured these guys as part of the motown Review of nineteen sixty eight.. This was what you call perfection.. originals sang Live.. I have never heard anything quite As beautiful and perfect sense.. This Group:par excellence!!! They have never gotten the recognition they truly deserve.. Out the ballpark with this one🫠🙂🥰😍🤩😀😃

I was a mailman in Los Angeles ,my first instructor believe it or not was Freddie Gorman ,what a nice man ,I came in late my first day and he was so cool ,He unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer and passed away two years later but he and his son cut a gospel tract ,I got one signed by him and his son ,I gave it to a friend for X Mas,RIP Freddie G .Cool man what a history !
Thanks for sharing this story. The Originals, The Andantes, Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers, Rare Earrh and MORE are truly Motown unsung
🎉
🎉
I was in the same training class as Freddie, my postal start date was 2/22/82 at Bicentennial Station. This was Freddie's second time with the post office😊
Freddie Gorman also wrote "Waite a Minute Mr. Postman"😊
Love this song! One of the most beautiful songs ever written and didn't know Marvin wrote it. Originals...you are awesome. Love
I didn't know that either. I fell in love with this song when I was a very young girl. My mom played it a lot.
Marvin poured his heart when he wrote that. and that group was Motown best kept secret.
Thomas .. A bigger secret is Marvin Gaye doing background at Motown , listen to Mary Wells , You Beat Me To The Punch, check Marvin out

The Originals, the Funk Brothers and other backup groups never got their just accolades until later years.
That’s true. I don’t know why Berry Gordy was like that. I’ll never forget seeing a Eddie Kendricks interview, it was given probably about 5 yrs before his passing; was asked about Gordy, and he stated that he never really knew the man, and he rarely spoke to the guy.
True fact
My Late Uncle Who Was A College Professor, Loved It And Turned Me On To It!
My goodness they was still sounding great after all these years. I’m telling you, growing up in the 70’s we heard so much great music. With so many great songwriters really writing meaningful songs. And all the artists could really sing. No auto tone or computer gimmicks. Just real talent. What a great live performance.
Absolutely! Saw Santana and the Righteous Brothers live. at Filmore in San Francisco.and The gorge at George. And Janis Joplin was amazing 🤩 Good times!! Wish I could have seen Olivia-Newton John. 0:47
Unforgettable! Such talent! Watched “Flash dance” and “Grease” over and over
I mean the Righteous Brothers at the Gorge.

Terrie, Hank's daughter

Beautiful song n group.
That high tenor part,"when you cry ,you wonder why you cry im telling you no lie this how I feel" is a real difficult to cover, but she pulled it off.
Fantastic thanks for sharing
Still sounds beautiful and the young lady fits perfectly.
The young lady (Jackie Hicks) was one of The Andantes, another back-up group for Motown. The group sang background vocals on numerous Motown recordings, including songs by Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops, Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr, the Supremes, the Marvelettes, Marvin Gaye and the Isley Brothers, among others. It is estimated they appeared on 20,000 recordings.
They did the background on just ask the lonely for the four tops that's the one that you really hear them on@@hossridr1
@@hossridr1 What?? Jackie Hicks? The photos of The Andantes show Jackie Hicks to be dark skinned and kind of heavyset, and she would be WAY older than the young lady in this performance. This is Terrie Dixon, Hank Dixon's daughter. They re-established The Originals in the mid 2000s.
Brings back memories 🤩😍
Wow!! What a great display of talent on stage tonight!
My chills are all over the place everything I hear this beautiful music
Thanks people, I'm just pouring my heart out musically

Detroit in the building!
That lady was not part of the group. The guys sound great. Great song. I love it.❤❤❤
That was the music 🎶 🎉🎉❤😂😅😊 back in the day, and I still listen to it today
You are the real deal
The Originals, I grew up listening to their music I love the song baby I'm for real !!❤ the lyrics God Bless Richard Shackelford
Love the Originals! They rivaled the Temptations!
One of the greatest "make-out" songs ever recorded. Yes, kids, your grandparents did those things.
God has been so good, they sound great ❤
What is sad is that many of these back-up groups for Motown were never listed in the credits section on the records. I blame Berry Gordy for this oversight............or was it?
Still a classic. Dallas, TX 03/13/24
AMAZING!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Love this song! They don’t make songs like this anymore! I’m for real! Written by Marvin Gaye & performed by Motow’s group The Originals👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I'm favoured financially with Bitcoin ETFs approval, Thank you, buddy.$42,000 weekly profit regardless
of how bad it gets on the economy
Me!! And how do you earn massively like that? If you do not mind me, please 🙏
Lia Lorenzo has been my backbone since last year and has brought me many benefits.
I am here. I don't know that people know Lia Lorenzo that much. I have been able to climb from $10k to $56k, plan under her supervision, and her responsibility. The signs are the best to enter and exit, very good woman.
I am right here. Thank you for this here on UA-cam... I am a doctor from Houston Texas, it was recommended to me on UA-cam, and I started with $19k and accumulated $52k in a week
Please, how do I connect with Lia Lorenzo? I would appreciate it if you show me how to go about it
I miss those love songs, they would capture your mind, body and soul!!!!
The Best of all Tinm❤❤ Mary.🎉
In 1969 I always danced with My favorite Girl to this song. It brings back such fond memories. I was a Mailman and later a Postmaster. Loved Freddie Gorman.
You guys brought a tear to my eyes, "why did you do that"? LIFE!!!
Enjoy the tears.
I hope that they are tears of joy.
Thank you so very much for signing this song. I thank God for this, too. Aman ❤
9th grade Pasteur Jr.High Los Angeles.
I was in high school when this came out, we use to cut school and have "sets" in someones house, grooving to this song! Sang it over and over and over again, just love it!
Love the music make me feel better
IS YOU. / Those last two words are similar. Singer is a little brassy. Probably would’ve been a bigger hit with a more Anita Baker delivery. Being a bigger hit would’ve made lawsuit unnecessary or more rewarding financially. Oh well There ya go
I hear this song most days on my Pandora playlist… So beautiful!
I love this song give credit to the great Marvin Gaye
Love this❤Baby im forever yours❤️😘🥰💞💘💞 love ya honey❤❤❤💘
I still love The Originals
Happy memories of my bestie- the Chain Reaction record. RIP petal until we meet again xx
Yes
I'm 75 years old and danced many nights to this song on the dance floor. Just listening to this song took me on a journey back in time I'll never forget. Graduated from Northwestern High in Detroit, not far from Motown, where many Motown artists attended.
There was Holland, Dozier, Gorman before 😮 Holland, Dozier, Holland!😊
I’ve had this song in my head for weeks I just had to look it up to listen to it. The female singers portion just ruined it for me. The song is about a man pouring out his soul the woman he loves
She look like she belong, get it sista!!
Love this song. A favorite since My high school days in the 1970 ‘s
I miss all this classic love music but believe me they are all on my old skool playlist on the iPhone
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
