- Booking shore excursions while in Alaska is a must! Our journey to Alaska onboard the Celebrity Solstice took us to Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. In every port, we took a shore excursion that just highlighted our journey to another level. In Ketchikan, we saw ancient totem poles, went on a rainforest walk through the Tongass National Forest, and even ate King Crab! In Juneau, we visited the glorious Mendenhall Glacier. It was awe-inspiring! Lastly, we stopped in Skagway and hopped onboard the famous White Pass Rainway for an unforgettable ride through the mountains.
