If you ever make it back to Tennessee, you can actually visit Sergeant York's home. There's a hike across a swinging rope bridge from his home to his burial site.

A few things you could add at your discretion (from a mom fixing to teach middle school American history for the third time). American Girl books and/or movies, It's America Charlie Brown series, and Ken Ham has a book called "Great Big Book of World History Timeline."

We love Sonlight but we find it too much for a year!!! I’ve heard tons about beautiful feet and we are going to do history of science with them, unless we use sonlight!!! My older kids have their own books of centuries and they all look different!!! We always add in extra books even for sonlight as there are books we want to read!!!

There are so many wonderful books. It's hard not to add in our own. ❤️

This looks like a wonderful and enjoyable history program! We also enjoy literature based history, but have never used Sonlight or Beautiful Feet. We use Notgrass History and they have a literature component if you choose to add it on.

I can’t wait to hear your comparison between Beautiful Feet and Sonlight! It was a hard choice for us too!

It's still hard. But I need to go into this with an open mind and a good attitude. I have become a Sonlight snob 🤪😜🤣

@@creatingcommunity7022 Oh man Sonlight is amazing! This year was our first year and it has made our school feel together and like a home. I have been able to rest. I wanted to buy it when my 13 year old was a kindergartener all the way up through and I thought it was too all over the place in many books and too expensive. Then realized I spent like ten years trying to basically make Sonlight 😂😂🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ But my younger set will go through the levels the best I can. We all love it, they beg for the next book as soon as we finish one!
However it is a chunk of change. I didn’t have the money to buy the four cores I needed this next year so I just bought the manual of B and a few books I couldn’t get on audio from the library to save on that core. And I bought the Preschool T manual and the books we didn’t already have slowly as I found them. In the end we will be able to do T, B and E and F this year but I only bought E and F in a kit. I just want things to run smoothly. And like a crazy person I really want to do Playful Pioneers with my younger crowd over the summer before we begin B…..

That was us this year. Just couldn't spend the money, but will probably end up with a lot of the books anyway 😬 We started Sonlight 2 years ago. Wish we would have started from the beginning as well. 🥰

@@creatingcommunity7022 You know you love Sonlight when you can be perusing the thrift store and instantly recognize a Sonlight book 😂😂😂 My husband is like yeah but how do you know lol

Can you do a flip through. I wanted to do this but I didn’t see much on this one. I remember reading number the stars in school now we’re reading it with my now 5th grader.
