I routinely beat my neighbor's SRT8 by several car lengths in my XFR which has the same engine as the F-Type R. He traded it in for a Maserati, and I beat that badly too. The 'R' stand for RACING folks. :o)
I’ve owned a couple Porsche and now bought an F Type R. Love the car. It’s just a truly beautiful looking car and don’t see many still after all these years.
@@mamba4l560 definitely one of the best sounding V6's ever, I put it behind the Busso and on par with the Alfa 2.9tt in the Giulia QV and Audis old 2.7tt (though that engine is a maintenance nightmare). V6 can be had with 3 pedals as well.
@@spaniardmartinez6896 yup, and still faster. Jag cannot beat it in a roll. Hence, the hp. Put some Mickey Thompsons on it and it will beat the Jag from a dig too 😎
@@_LEONKING_ I am confused... In your opinion... Which car looks better? Which car sounds better? Which car has better dynamics? The speed is close... but the F type is a little bit faster (quarter mile, figure eight, top speed and 0-60). Also... the Jag is quite a bit more expensive.
Well I’ll tell yah this. Around the same track, the Hellcat was only 3 seconds faster. Then when the same year 2019 scat pack wide body did. 300 more HP gives only 3 seconds faster time around the track. The Scat is almost 500hp not all wheel drive. Does not have the same pops & crackles either. It’s a supercharged 5.0 V8 engine! It would smoke a hellcat around any track! 🤷🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣🥂👍🏽
recently picked up a 16 Ftype R - the thing is a beast - and an easy car around town - lack of storage lets it down - but we dont buy cars like this for that LOL
No, it is not a coyote engine nor does it have any direct relation to it, it is a completely different engine called the AJ-V8. JLR subcontracted assembly of them to ford and for cost savings they use some fomoco parts, however as of 2020 all AJ-V8s are now built in house by JLR.
The AJ 5.0 V8 engine is a Jaguar engine built in Wales in a dedicated Jaguar facility located within the Ford Bridgend Engine Plant in South Wales. Tata have the trading rights and paid handsomely for them in ££££ - after borrowing a lot of them from someone. It's all rather complicated but Jaguar have ensured that they will have access to India's gazillions and a larger global footprint.
The 5.0 started life as a 4.2 Porsche block they were gonna use for racing. Jag bought the engine and developed it into the supercharged 5.0 and 3.0 engines we have today
Beating a HC from a dig on an unprepped surface isn’t impressive. If you want to make it fair, run a dig to a half mile. Give the HC a stance to stretch its legs. Or make a run from 60
Who races half mile though? 1/4 or even 1/8, but not 1/2. I can't even imagine the mph if I mashed it WOT in my R for a half mile after 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Few roads are straight enough and flat enough to make that reality for anywhere but exhibitions on runways and the like.
@@motorgearhead Maybe. I don't do a lot of roll-racing but I guess that might work out? I'm pretty much always from a dig, playing to the strength of awd. The few times I have gone from a roll, it's usually just long enough to see who starts pulling on the other and then I shut it down -- in this case once the HC started walking me I'd let it go and get off it at 80 or 90. Generally speaking, I don't take it much more than 20 over the speed limit tops. I'm more careful now in my 40's and w/ a family at home. My 20's in my Trans Am was a much different story. :)
@@keyser456 - totally agree if you can put a couple of cars on someone by 100 the out come usually holds. It's one thing to have power, but to have control of said power is the key. Power doesn't matter without control.
Love that Jaguar🔥
Great video bud, we're selling our 16 ATS-V with 700+hp for an F Type R we love the looks, fit, finish, and the Exotic look.

The jag everytime
Jaguar all the way

I’m going to get that jag one way or another before I die even if it’s a v6 a version I don’t want I WILL get that car at some point soon in my life
