“You were just a man…” that’s the most fitting description of his character I think, he wasn’t evil, he wasn’t a hero, he was just a man, a warrior with a dead wife and a child he didn’t know how to help. So he threw himself into war because it was all he knew, and through that war he finally connected with his son, then he died. I wonder how different the fate of Tsushima would have been is Kazumasa Saki had survived Ikki, I wonder how different Jin would be.
Use his katana? Don't know how to fight is fine, but won't fight is unacceptable. Besides it wasn't a worthy foe, just some random raider which idk how he even brought down the Butcher. Jin could've easily saved him but chose to hide in the dark like a coward.
I've said in another similar video, Lord Shimura is more of a father to Jin then his actual Father. Though he himself and everyone stated that after Jin's mother died he became very cold, burying himself in his duty and work as a Samurai Lord. This campaign to Iki island, he made a last attempt to get to know and bond with his son, possibly knowing this campaign could be his end.
The music the solemn atmosphere and the lighting are amazing in these memories . Till this day I don't understand how this game didn't win game of the year .
Kazumasa used the battlefield as a way to teach his son, because when Chiyoko died the true parental figure for Jin was gone-and Kazumasa was not a parent but a living legend, so the dived even deeper and further into his duties as a samurai, to make Jin not a weakling but a warrior that would carry on the Legacy of Kazumasa Sakai and would bear the emblem and name “Sakai”.
Yes, but Kazumasa also loved Jin, he just didn't know how to show it properly. There's plenty of evidence, but the most touching is the broken wooden stag that little Jin made for his father. Kazumasa kept it until the end 💔
Things change, I doubt the full story of the DLC was planned back when the game was first written. I think originally it was implied his father died on Tsushima aswell.
Or maybe Jin remembered the event differently in his head. Trauma does that to people, especially a kid who is a warrior at a young age. That's just my theory. Take it as you well.
@@Clfgy Maybe Shimura lied to comfert Jin or perhaps he lied so Jin wouldn’t seek vengeance in his adulthood, but it is most likely an oversight by Sucker Punch

The butcher of Tsushima sounds pretty badass, so I wish his father didn't die, Jin was a coward for not saving him.

You’re here now. I’m here now is what Jin said during duel under the autumn leaves
I’m curious as to why they retconned Jins Dad dying in a snow storm to a petal field.
Things change, I doubt the full story of the DLC was planned back when the game was first written. I think originally it was implied his father died on Tsushima aswell.
They actually changed the cutsene of Kazumasa dying in the main game as well so technically it's not a retcon lol

Shimura could have just massacred some of the islanders and took some as heads since it was a group effort.
Better answer : continuity error. Sweet sweet continuity errors. Sloppy job.
that was in there because they hadnt made the iki dlc yet
What a Chad.
If jin would of not go to iki kasumasa would of been alive, kasumasa ithink was more focosed on jin safety that he did not focosed on his OWN safety

My brother said Kazumasa sakai died a cowards death, is that true?
no, the bandits made a trap to him
No his leg was broken and he got ambushed and also probably was fighting the bandits and took lot of them out but got overwhelmed.

@TobiramaSenju123 the person who killed kasumasa sakai said to jin was it was hard to kill your father he killed many bandit's like dozens while ambush thing
