Saw this film a long time ago. Still scares the crap out of me to this day. I learned my lesson to never pick up a hitchhiker and never hitch a ride. Thanks for uploading.
This movie got me when watched first time, that was almost 38 years ago. After that, Rutger Hauer has been one of my best favorite actors. I miss you, Rutger... (an old Japanese fan)
Saw this when it came out and was scared for months. And, as a kid, I loved Creature Feature. Bring it back, please!! RIP gorgeous Rutger. Such a beautiful man.
Absolutely Pure 80's mind candy!!! Back when movies were around 5 bucks, and the popcorn and cokes was 6.00 with refills... Back when Rutger Hauer became the greatest villain in cinema, and a household name!
Still remember the first time I ever saw this movie. It was on a 13 inch black and white TV my grandfather gave to me. The intensity of the storytelling still got through that old zenith 😳 I now recall even on a black and white TV that explosion scene with the car driving off on fire partially. Was pretty spectacular.🤯
I haven't seen this forever. I feel like more than 15 years. Pretty good. I'm one of the few that also liked the remake. I like them both. Thank you for this opportunity to watch this movie again. 👋🙏👍😎
Thank you Creature Features. This is a real treat! Sat here on a cold stormy UK Saturday, sitting next to the radiator for warmth, and this. It's all good!
Such a master piece. They don't make em like this anymore. I saw it the year it came out and several times since. It's one of those films that stays with you.
You put a smile on my face, Thanks for your humor, In this movie that I have watched soo many times I just realized that when he had the girl Nash attached to the semi, all the police had to do was to block off the front of that semi with whatever so that he couldn't move the semi.
Me too. He's from my parents native country the Netherlands and you can't detect the slightest hint of a Dutch accent. So underappreciated. This film is my fave of his apart from the small role in Bladerunner. 👌🏼👍🏼
Been waiting forever to find "The Hitcher" again. Saw it when it first came out. Rutger Hauer at his best. This was just after Bladerunner (my fave movie all time) and here he got another chance to show how brilliant of an an actor he was. Takes on the bad guy roles like nobodies business. Not stupid comic book character or AI crap.A fellow Dutchman too boot. RIP Rutger. One of your best. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Rutger will for always live in the heart of us all.
Couldn't sleep either this movie creeper me out when it came out Rutger played that part too well. Then he was in the cult classic with Harrison Ford Sean Young where they were androids in the future in a dismal rainy LA. Enjoy

They couldn't make movies anymore to save their own lives, it's almost like Hollywood has given up completely and wants the industry to expire so streaming can take over everything; you'll own nothing, want nothing and long for nothing and you'll love it. That's their plan, how else to explain the incredibly scary drop in quality and talent before and behind the camera there's virtually none of it anymore.
Saw this on HBO when I was a kid, freaked me out. Picked up a VHS of it last year at a yard sale, still a really Fd up movie. Nobody did Evil like Rutger.
Can you believe I've actually seen this movie. It's been a long time. So long that it was at a now defuncted drive-in as a double feature with Maximum Overdrive. The Hitcher is like a bad penny. He just kept coming back.
Saw this when I was a teenager in the movies with my mom probably watched it maybe a couple more times I'm ready to watch it again on December 1st 2024
Thank you for posting this gem, I think the cop cars in Hazzard roll is funny, between OG Top Gun , Silverado and Commando. my childhood was pretty Awsome !💯💯💯💯
For me this is Rutger Hauer's best ever movie role with Blade Runner a close second. My cousin had it on VHS and had a full size poster of Hauer from the movie holding the shotgun with the cuffs around him. It was pretty cool tbh.
😬😁💗I give it 10/10 This is my first time watching this movie and it was a great movie so I can't complain I Love it thank you for sharing this beautiful movie 💗
This was the best hitcher . The remake was ok with Sean bean . But this was the best . Rutger is great menace . He’s a bit like the jeeper creeper creature who is unstoppable
Such a great movie. Jennifer Jason Leigh died a very gruesome death in this movie similar to how her father died in real life while filming the Twilight zone movie 4 years before this movie was made. He was holding 2 kids running across a river while a helicopter was above them. The pyrotechnics caused the tail rotor to break and it landed on them decapitating him and one of the kids while the other one got crushed. Very sad day

Great seeing Rutger, C Thomas, and Jennifer young again. Haven't seen this since I was young. I saw this originally in '86, that was the year I turned 22. Rutger Hauer, one of the best villians ever - R.I.P.

Rutger Hauer was one of the best in his time. As was C. Thomas Howell. This is a great example. Back when they knew how to do movies.
@@dan6442 his eyes always steely blue stand out
LITERALLY ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE FILMS. C. Thomas and Rutger set the bar high on this one.
Gorgeously shot flick and a textbook example of suspense done right; exactly how it is NOT done these days.
Very true, good filmmaking is almost like a lost art form now...
Thank you Creature Features for streaming this very good movie. 👍💫
He's my favourite Dutch Actor...Rutger Hauer..❤may he R.I.P.
He really was one of Hollywoods best actors ever. He just had this intensity about him that drew you in. He will always be missed
One of my all time favourites and the movie that introduced me to Rutger Hauer, *R.I.P.*
A man who no longer cares , is the most dangerous man.
Rutger Hauer played it well.
He is the Joker
Yeah, this film is one of the best suspense films ever made I think. Rutger Hauer👍👍 plays such an awesome role.😎
You've got to be joking.
What a classic. Hauer was awesome in this.

Thank you SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS BANGER OF A MOVIE. I love it! Haven't been able to find it for years to watch and thanks to you I can x
"The Hitcher"(1986) is an action mystery thriller road movie masterpiece! This is the best movie of all time for this Kind!
I'm watching from California. The last time I watched this movie was when I was living on Oahu in 1986. My, how time flies.
Rutger Hauer gives a Brilliant performance. C. Thomas Howell is Excellent and Jennifer Jason Leigh is Outstanding.
RIP Rutger Hauer
Holy crap, I had no idea he was dead! RIP Rutger
Always liked Rutger Hauer. He was really good in Lady Hawk & many other movies! RIP Rutger, miss you !!!!!!!
This is a cool, intense psychological thriller ! Love Rutger & C Thomas, Jennifer ! xx
Rutger Hauer plays a guy who attaches his trailer to the back of your car without permission. Scariest effing movie ever...

The scenes with Rutger Hauer and C. Thomas are the best. The tension between the two and Hauer's psychopathy are perfect.
Incredible movie. Rutger hauer has always been one of my favorites.

Rutgers Hauer was a great type cast villian! I'll bet this was his favorite!
He said Blade Runner himself, I'm sure this is close though.

The whole cast was great. Yes, it's a little cheesy here and there, but Rutger Hauer is so fun to watch.
The moral of the story ? Don't pick up hitch hikers.
Rutger Hauer scared me more in this flick than he did in Bladerunner
He showed more respect in blade runner...except wen he whacked his creator ..father
This movie is so over the top, it's ridiculous!!! But it's absolutely fabulous!!!
