      I mean not entirely imo. She was pushing for her to tell her if he had a weapon or not, when in most cases the killer doesn't want that to be known and she was pushing too much on a victim in a situation where she is STILL the hostage. Got lucky this one time, in another situation with a more aggravated hostage taker could end very poorly.

    Caught someone say the officers were "too emotionally involved", imagine sitting in a room with a monster, hearing him spin a bullshit story in an attempt to preserve a shred of his own honor and remaining calm while listening to it. Investigators get to the point where they mask their anger in the face of evil after decades of dealing with this shit. People these days are increasingly awful at imagining themselves in the position of another.

    • @ScrimmyBunglets

      It is their job to not let that affect them. It's crucial that they gain the information that they need to convict him and if they let their emotions through they make mistakes and that won't happen. A good interrogator will fake sympathy with the most deplorable waste of life on the planet if it means giving them even a chance of getting a confession.

    • @sonsonny1
      @sonsonny1 2 роки тому +25

      That's gonna cost them full admission of guilt of the first degree crimes, what you're saying is true but they're detectives/investigartors or w/e the title is for this type of job and the job is interrogate and recieve admission of guilt to the highest degree, just because it's understandable doesn't mean they didn't do a bad job, maybe they haven't had enough experience to emotionally detatch themselves, but this could have really costed them a lot.
      I'd want this psycho rapist murderer to get the maximum sentence for his crimes and to do that you need cops that aren't gonna be emotionally unstable and lash out (maybe some just aren'tcut out for it), instead play out their tactics that have proven to work, if we put ourselves in this position, maybe we would've reacted the same way, but that's why this job isn't for everyone. This aggression could have easily had the guy immediately shutup as he felt he was getting attacked and get a lawyer if he was smart enough.

    • @TheHeartThatRunsCold
      @TheHeartThatRunsCold 2 роки тому +14

      @@sonsonny1 No one could know how they'd react to someone like this in a room where their job is to approach things appearing calm and being efficient at gaining as much information as possible. You wouldn't know whether or not you could deal with keeping your emotions in check in the face of genuine evil until you were put in that position. It's easy to make claims of what they could, should, or shouldn't be doing from an outsiders perspective. It's easy to claim they handled things poorly, it's easy to claim their focus should've been on getting an admission of guilt by any means necessary. But we're human, and rational thought will never trump out emotions ability to sabotage rationality. I don't think these interrogators aren't cut out for their job, I think this was a good learning experience for them, and probably a good case study for future interrogators.
      There aren't many people on Earth that could deal with a job like this, so I'd hope these interrogators didn't lose confidence in themselves moving forward.

    Personally i liked these detectives, yes they didn't apply the most "efficient" techniques to get a confession
    but it feels so much better to see and hear people confronting these individuals to the piece of garbage they are instead of cheering them up.
    They don't deserve any kind of empathy false or truthful.

      The guy is absolutely in the wrong and what he did is messed up, BUT what the detectives did was wrong, the guy said and the truth and that alone would've got him a very long time in prison (very likely lifetime, deservedly) but the officers were trying to create a false narrative to make sure the guy would get an even worse sentence more than he deserves. Usually I don't care because the guy already committed more than one crime, but when you think about the number of innocent that get thrown into prison because the officers pushed them so hard to admit to a crime they didn't do, it makes me sad that they get away with this type of BS.

      im enjoying these but imo hes a bit dumb sometimes when he says chat shouldnt link reasons to why these happened and that theyre just monsters. sometimes the reality is society creates its own monsters and i feel like thats relevant and important to acknowledge. humans arent that different to each other, theres always a reason behind an act, good or bad and many of these cases could be avoidable by not bullying the kid that's different and just by being nice to each other...
      sure sometimes his viewers are completely idiots and call each other these things and he stops it as he should. but sometimes chat attacks the certain kind of qualities/differences of the person in question and thats really not good, he doesnt do anything about that

    I'm not surprised they started being aggressive to the murder after knowing where the body is witch is the only thing they are after all they want now is to him to confess whether they got it or not dosnt matter they now know where the body is
