I remember the amount of hype surrounding this game. I still come back to watch the trailer every now and then to relive the launch hype

I don't know how, but I found out about it on the day it first came out in stores; I went to the store and bought a copy, and satisfied my hype on the same day.

I feel like Super Mario Maker is going to be one of those games where you never grow tired of it and there's no end to it. People will (hopefully) have great ideas for levels and we will (hopefully) be ready for those levels.

FoolsGil No it won't, because this doesn't have ASM hacking or custom sprite/block insertion or anything like that. That said, this is still pretty awesome.
Arale Most of us aren't savvy enough for ASM hacking anyway so super mario maker is a good alternative.

I’ll always remember Mario Maker as the first game I was legitimately hyped for, i loved the idea of making my own Mario levels.

Super Mario Maker 2 really just blows this out of the water, they've added so many new things that they couldn't do on the Wii U because it was so limited.

Hey, Nintendo Land and Game & Wario are still awesome multiplayer experiences, and they probably will never be ported to any other system, I will treasure my WiiU forever (Super Mario 3D World is also worth iy, but I don't think that game will stay exclusive to the WiiU)

***** I'm sorry but to be blunt, while that is a sensitive date for Americans, a game being released on that date doesn't interfere with a person's mourning nor proposes an insult towards the event and frankly 3,000 is a small number when compared to the total mate. It's been 14 years also, our lives continue on and I can't be positive but I am sure many are starting to move on with their lives while keeping their lost one(s) in their memories and prayer.
The release date of this game just happened to coincide with the same date from a tragic event 13 years ago. That is IT! Nothing else is implied.

Finally, something to remember on September 11th.
While I am extraordinarily hyped about this game, was it really necessary to spend so much time covering it during the Digital Event? There was a solid hour of coverage on this game at the "Nintendo World Championships" where this trailer easily could have been played.
StacheBros Not only that, but they also spent too much time covering over Yoshi's Wooly World, something they have done about 5 times already.
Alex Zepeda Oh I agree! If you go to my Google+ page, I wrote an entire reaction to the Digital Event, and mentioned the waste of time covering Wooly World. I'm super hyped for the next Yoshi game, but they announced nothing new, and didn't show any new footage (more or less).

Alright, it was released September 11th, okay 9/11. But seriously. Super Mario Bros. was released September 13th, okay Friday the 13th. So basically, the only way they could've made it non-offencive to over reacting Americans is letting it be released September 12th. I'm not offended or anything, I'm just saying.

Ok so I have a therory of Mario maker.
So, if you take a close look at the beginning of the video, (The original Super Mario Brothers) You can see Mario has a shadow. That's fine that he has a shadow, but its on the sky... That's pretty strange. If you ask me, it's probably a green screen. Also, when you are editing the level, it has that thing that actors say before they roll their lines. Also, take a look when the link costume comes in. It has that light. A spotlight mabey? Also, when you kill a enemy with a koopa shell or Fire Flower, they fall off screen. A few more things, when you edit the level, it has those things on the back, it has little squares on it. Also, when you put those arrows to show where to go, they look like they are bolted in. One final thing, remember that Chain chomp that goes around in a circle? It look likes it's sopposed to bee floating, but it shows that to make it look like it. So, what if Super Mario Maker, is just a TV show or a movie? Just my therory! :D

This game honestly looks amazing. I love all the 2D Mario games and level creators and this looks absolutely perfect. I so excited for its release and I hope we get a direct for it sometime in August.

I remember when this was gonna come out I had to wait until the Monday after it was released because every store was sold out with pre orders, but I was extremely hyped because I remember playing a similar game on the pc when I was younger hoping there would be a game like it and Poof! My wish came true! Plus I got to play it early at an event about 7 days before its release

I enjoy mario and platform game design myself, and use PC tools to hack and make my own games. However, the great thing about Mario Maker is that you get immediate feedback on where your players are dying, what they think of the course, how difficult it is, etc. As such, if you approach it with the right mindset, it can really help you evolve as a designer.
