YUSUD yellow flame and torch butane insert for zippo full review. These are available on Amazon. #zippo #yellowflame #butanetorch #zippofanatic77 #zf77
I've been using this as my main insert for a year now, everything you say is true. It's super finicky, won't light if you so much as breathe near it, needs a wrap of tape to fit, but if you really like the gimmick you can make it usable. I've got a super thick copper case from the same seller as the torch, it needed a little modification to sit right, but if you're willing to mess with the case you can (hopefully) get it looking and going good (I have another case that's too short to work, so be wary). I've found that the striker gets a lot easier to remove after you've replaced the flint a few times, but that first time is a WORKOUT. Probably not the insert for most people, but I love it. 👍
Yeah I use this as an inside only insert. I do enjoy it. Just had a lot of problems. I’ve changed the flint 5 times since I first got it and it is not any easier lol. Which is fine by me. I just pry it out then grab it. But also if u have a vintage zippo from the 90’s and earlier they actually fit flawlessly with no leaking issues. I have mine in a 70’s one. Love it but not outside lol
I really wanted to live this insert. The concept and idea are amazing. But like you said, in terms of execution, it falls short in every manner you can think of!
Well i don’t think u would hear it seeping out lol I couldn’t. I wouldn’t use it for a few days then it would be empty. Meaning it at a slow leak. Turned out it was that cam. If I leave it on the table by itself or a zippo it fits in. It doesnt leak. I say this all in the video
To light I put my thumb over the torch to trap the gas, then slide the thumb over the wheel to light it. Works every time. I bought two of these. I’m trying to modify it in a way where it will be wind resistant. Not much room inside but I think it is possible. I’ll be repurposing a traditional insert to be the case. This should help with the fit. So far no success , but I’m close. Mechanically, it’s not quite right, but I like what this has to offer.
I think the best thing to do would just change the torch and yellow flame fitting around. Make it so the torch lites first. Should make it wind resistant
Maybe in a future mod. The plumbing inside would have to be redone for it to work that way. My understanding of the function of this particular insert is the yellow flame gas is not completely cut off when the button is pressed. There is an itty bitty bit of yellow flame that is keeping the jet side lit. I’ll keep working on it. I’m curious to try it now.
You really put stuff to the test, so I trust your judgement. I haven't used mine in quite some time, so I can't say for mine. Hope you have been well! Sorry I haven't been as active lately, just busy!
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Just been busy and dealing with my mental health and such. I plan to get back into it, I got a mount for my camera so I can film shorts with a good camera, better than my old crap phone haha.
really liked the concept and it was cheaper than the zippo insert, but after watching this video i canceled that order and just went with the zippo one
Unless you are mainly using your lighter in windy conditions then you should consider picking one up especially if you find a good price. I picked a couple up and they have replaced my Zippo soft flame insert. If wind is a concern then The zippo torch insert is the way to go.
Ya know what I want to know? When zippo says limited to 10,000 collectible of the year or founders day. How many lighters do they make in all the other styles? Like I feel like the 10,000 is actually more than what they make in other styles but they make it sound like it’s a limited amount
Haha chase buddeh that’s how zippo is. Now they sell millions of zippo’s a year. So in those numbers you could say it is. But go outside any other collectable like movie props and toys 10,000 is not considered a collectable in any way. Maybe 200 they would consider as a collectable.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I mean don’t get me wrong I think those lighters are dope af but it’s almost a marketing ploy. Like give me a chance to buy a lighter that’s limited to 150-200 then maybe I’d jump on it
I'm wondering how hard it would be for some of these Chinese companies to reverse-engineer the windproof "soft" flame that Xikar uses on some of their butane lighters. I have the Xikar EX-II and it seems to have both a torch and a soft flame overlapping each other, running at the same time, and the torch stays on in the wind and re-ignites the soft flame if it gets blown out. Would be nice to have that kind of solution in a Zippo form factor.
All u gotta do is switch around the burners so the torch is first instead of the yellow flame. They do run at the same as u can tell u from the thumbnail. That’s just a picture I took of the yellow flame running by itself. Seeing the torch lit in the picture was a big surprise.
Ugly as hell ! It’s engraved with dates all around it lol wow real original design. Looked like it took a liberal woman all of 5 minutes to design it. Oh yeah great sticker on it too lol not worth 120$
I have that one and the vector thunderbird dual type flame. Both of them never got put into my rotation. Seems like no one can get that style to work properly.
I own the Vector Thunderbird Dual Flame and it works great. I am not a smoker and light it a few times a week just to play with it. It has gone 2 years without my putting butane in it.
Do you know if the new picture on the new founders day collectible is a sticker? Or is that like a colored laser image? What it is may be the make or break if I buy or not
Wow this review is a bit surprising. I bought 2 of these because I have been so disappointed with the Zippo soft flame insert and it has been fantastic. The insert does require that you adjust the lever inside the lid but after that it fits like a glove and doesn't have to be wrapped in tape like the Zippo insert. The insert ignites very consistently and has a great flame. On my insert if you press the ignition button when lighting it just lights the torch instead of the soft flame. Unlike the Zippo the Yusud has a flame adjuster and one of the biggest advantages is that it can be used upside down. Because of its poor design the Zippo soft flame can only stay lit for 2-3 seconds when its turned upside down . The only way this can be avoided is when the fuel tank is completely full which is extremely inconvenient. The Zippo soft flame is useless for anyone who uses the lighter to smoke pipes and bongs or for anything that requires the lighter to use turned upside down. My only negatives with the Yusud insert are its lack of wind resistance and its unimpressive fuel tank size. Overal this insert is fantastic and it is so much better than the Zippo soft flame especially considering its 1/3 the price. The last thing I will add is if you mainly use a torch lighter I would recommend getting the Zippo torch insert. Unlike the soft flame the torch insert is a terrific insert that is extremely reliable and is far better in the wind than the yusud insert.
This insert is terrible, it breaks even faster then the thunderbird g insert, the wheel is so terrible it completely stops sparking entirely after a few reflints. If you like broken inserts get this lighter, the Zippo torch either double or single are the best butane inserts for smoking weed, haven't had a problem with them.
There is a live chat replay for these videos too. These are available on Amazon if any one feels like wasting 20$
On same for under $10

Yeah I really like idea. Was def clever but needs some upgrades. The tight flint wheel is gonna break this insert also.
Black is my favorite zippo because that is what my first zippo was
Nice buds
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors thanks
Did you see the new butane pipe insert? Wonder if its any good.
Yup I have one in the mail on its way ! Expect my full review next weekend or the one after
I found it works well outside how ever I adjusted my flam a bit higher
I caught a little bit of the premier and then completely forgot this came out.
Shame on me lol.
This is coming off my Amazon wish list
Hahahaha good choice !
Odd mind fits no issue I did not even have to adjust the lid for mine even when I closed it I did not hear any gas leaking

Mine had to have the lid adjusted but it fits flawlessly in my Zippos. It's way more snug than the zippo brand insert.

My soft flame from zippo was that loose in both my armor i have to shim it or put it in a regular zippo
Lol that’s weird eh. I guess I got lucky. Yeah a piece of painters tape wedges it fine. I have to use it on my 41’s cuase they just slide out

Yeah seems very gimmicky . Clever construction in its own rights though. Just needs some fine tuning.
