Just broke out a battle rope and did a beginner 9min workout. It’s a killer. A couple guys asked “what muscles does it work?” I didn’t know so I said “all off them.” Then I found your video which was very informative and helpful. And found that I was basically right. Thanks for a good video
I highly recommend battle ropes! I’ve been working battle ropes for the past 10 months and it’s one of the core exercises I do at the gym. I’ve been able to maintain small waves to the end at 200bpm for 3min and 25secs. Which is a massive improvement from the initial 40secs from my very first go. It definitely improves your cardio and endurance!
Really enjoyed the science behind video, I think when you understand something, there is more connections between you and the exercises. Looking forward to more like this.
Really great content. I only have a 30 foot rope and was confused by men needing more than a 50 footer to see vO2 improvements. I used battle ropes in my journey 5 years ago when I was losing weight and gaining strength. I made huge gains in endurance and lowered my resting heart rate significantly. I only use them occasionally now to mix things up but have not been in the same shape since regarding ease of breathing during intense workouts. Battle ropes are crazy good. Thanks for sharing this info!
It's not that it can't at all. And frankly I use 50ft with my ladies and that study recommended shorter. It was more that the study found that length to be helpful as a suggestion. Let's face it...If you work hard and push what you can do with even a light weight aka use VOLUME or TEMPO as the challenge over the load or length, you're going to see results. Great job on your weight loss journey! Congrats on staying consistent for 5 years and building that fitness!
Excellent tutorial on battle ropes. Just started and since I'm a male, fit but in mid '70s I went for a 1 1/2 x 30' rope. I can see that I can go longer and heavier but i think I'll save that for the future since my main concern is to avoid injury. Thanks again for this video.
this video is a complete all rounder. relaxing, very informative and I believe the number one thing a lot of videos lack is the balance between information and the lengths of video time. another thumbs up for the pin points in the description to make things a little more clear in what i'm getting out of the video. Thanks!!!!!! :)
Thank you so much for this very detailed explanation of why battle ropes are an excellent way to improve your overall exercise performance/routine. I was once a bodybuilder, but have let my training lapse, as a result, I am having to go back to the basics to just get started working out again. I am older now so, I'm interested in low impact equipment for my joints, and was thinking about incorporating the battle rope into my workouts, but had little knowledge of their versatility and benefit. This video was an excellent step-by-step guide to shed some light on how great a tool they are to add to your training regimen. Again, many thanks for helping me to seal the deal in my decision to purchase one!
The best information on battle ropes I've seen yet. I've viewed a ton of them, but got the most from yours. I started adding ropes to my workout(s) in February and it has been a game changer. I've had my back fused twice now (l3 - s1), have had 3 rotator cuff surgeries, and 4 knee surgeries (all on left knee), and the ropes don't aggravate any of it. Anyway, fantastic info...very well done. Will subscribe for sure!
I was just about to buy a battle rope. But then I remembered that I saw you had a video on them. I wanted to watch your video before buying one because I knew you'd give the best and most honest advice. Thank you for that.🙂❤
The ropes are durable and just like the ones at the gym. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTFxba6lNeHrZaHoY_LXe6ZzmMfaipnwu Caution: I bought the 50 feet ropes and they are long and heavy so make sure you have the space (I do have the space). If I was to do it again I would probably get a shorter version as 50 feet (25 feet each side) is a little long.
Wow so informative I just got my first battle rope and did my first workout and this makes me even happier with the purchase. I look foward to the benefits of Battle roping.
This was the best and most extensive explanation of battle rope training I ever came across on the internet. I'll be trying it out at the gym next time. Thanks for the video, Coach Cori! 🤓
Aw thanks so much!! Definitely try them out with your injuries the low impact will be good. Although I remember I think you mentioned elbow pain in the past? Be careful to grip or even change your grip to use all your flexors and not just perpetuate overuse. Also play around with grip. By flipping the handles up it can often help too!
@@redefiningstrengthOC I want the two gauge grip, with the 50 plus length because according to your video the guys went nowhere fast with a 1.5 gauge 50 length rope. However for those with smaller hands, we can't get the two inch gauge to fit in our hand. I want a proper grip when I'm doing my hard exercises. What do we do? The smaller grip and the lighter rope as you confirmed is of no use to me and my objectives but a bigger rope is of no use either because my hand can't even wrap around it to get the most out of it! How can you help me? Thank you for your insightful video
In my gym there are no different sizes of ropes, just 1 fits all. But I find it pretty challenged and increases my heartbeat and my calorie burning, ... something that lifting weights don´t do much.
Lovely thanks for this vid- im stoked with battle ropes for whatever reason and this made me understand why they are so effective and now i know how to exercise the entire body with them !
Love this! Hope we can get more science soon. I like actually having the science on a separate video from the exercises. Otherwise I'm always impatient for the exercise section to start, while the in depth explanations are being shared. You're always finding what we need to know. Thank you again. I am very curious about breath resistance. It's a thrilling exercise. I would really like to know more about how to set my goals, and continue testing myself. Thank you so much for your time.
