Just broke out a battle rope and did a beginner 9min workout. It’s a killer. A couple guys asked “what muscles does it work?” I didn’t know so I said “all off them.” Then I found your video which was very informative and helpful. And found that I was basically right. Thanks for a good video
I highly recommend battle ropes! I’ve been working battle ropes for the past 10 months and it’s one of the core exercises I do at the gym. I’ve been able to maintain small waves to the end at 200bpm for 3min and 25secs. Which is a massive improvement from the initial 40secs from my very first go. It definitely improves your cardio and endurance!
The ropes are durable and just like the ones at the gym. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTFxba6lNeHrZaHoY_LXe6ZzmMfaipnwu Caution: I bought the 50 feet ropes and they are long and heavy so make sure you have the space (I do have the space). If I was to do it again I would probably get a shorter version as 50 feet (25 feet each side) is a little long.
One of the more insightful fitness videos I have seen on UA-cam on some time. Great work!
Great scientific explanation! Many of us need to know the "why", and you explained it masterfully.
Thank you! So glad it helped!

Really enjoyed the science behind video, I think when you understand something, there is more connections between you and the exercises. Looking forward to more like this.
I 100% agree! We can use it in our programming more efficiently and we can even focus on the areas we know should be working! Glad you liked it!

What science?
Citing a study ( its it real? Who knows?) does not count as science!
Cori brings it every time! The creativity of her workouts are ridiculous....and the evidence-based explanations - whole nedda level!! Thank you!
Thanks so much Kim!
Logically, that was the best video I have watched as far as battle ropes are concerned! Thank you! I have watched other videos showing variations, you did a great job explaining the difference of sizes, uses and targets. I would highly recommend this video!
I truly think your channel is awesome thanks for the positivity and great exercises you bring to the table.
Thanks so much!!
Loved the science behind. Comprehension and knowledge is power! Thank you.
Awesome video. The first I have come across that clearly explains the benefits of the battle ropes in the various types of exercises you can do. I would love to see more.
Started battle ropes recently and I love it! Thanks for the extra moves you discuss in other videos and the book!!!
Enjoy June and have fun!
Lobe your stuff. Extremely informative and very digestible. Subbed!!
this video is a complete all rounder. relaxing, very informative and I believe the number one thing a lot of videos lack is the balance between information and the lengths of video time. another thumbs up for the pin points in the description to make things a little more clear in what i'm getting out of the video. Thanks!!!!!! :)
So glad you liked it! Thanks!
Great content as always . I like the science you included , and combined with
your background is fantastic.
Thanks Brad!
Excellent video, psyched about adding this into my routine.
Great video it's hard to find exactly what you're looking for online anymore there is just so much junk. Thank you for creating this amazing video and not adding to the junk videos we have too much of already.
Love this! Hope we can get more science soon. I like actually having the science on a separate video from the exercises. Otherwise I'm always impatient for the exercise section to start, while the in depth explanations are being shared. You're always finding what we need to know. Thank you again.
I am very curious about breath resistance. It's a thrilling exercise. I would really like to know more about how to set my goals, and continue testing myself. Thank you so much for your time.
Thank you! Yes! Have a glute training one coming up. I'm so glad you said this because that's exactly what my mindset was. You have the quick reference exercise library BUT also the why behind training when you want that too!
Great video!, tons of specific and reliable information and to the point!, subscribed
Just started using Battle Ropes, this was Very Helpful. I’m tuned in, Thank You 👍🏽
Excellent analysis, great to know-how, and why an exercise benefits you ... thank you.
Loved the science behind concept. Really clear and useful descriptions. Keep them coming
Thank you!
really liked that the studies were cited. thanks for the video.
Love the Science Behind Battle Ropes. Great video, Cori! You already know that I adored the 9-Week Battle Ropes program. I plan on repeating it again starting January 2019, just as I did January of this year. (Seriously helps with the long winters here in the Northeast to follow a plan like this.)
I know you do and it makes me so happy Laurel! Hope you're healing up which it sounds like you are from the group!
Thank you for the very formative insight to battle ropes.
Hi coach cori I just started using the battle ropes a month ago and I have been looking for new forms and the benefits. Thank you for this video!
Totally have faith in the science and application of Battle ropes in workouts.
Especially for Muay Thai fighters....it's a staple addition we used in training camps I've been involved with in Australia, NZ, Philippines and Thailand.
Love your breakdown of it. Thankyou 💪💪💪🙏
The best information on battle ropes I've seen yet. I've viewed a ton of them, but got the most from yours. I started adding ropes to my workout(s) in February and it has been a game changer. I've had my back fused twice now (l3 - s1), have had 3 rotator cuff surgeries, and 4 knee surgeries (all on left knee), and the ropes don't aggravate any of it. Anyway, fantastic info...very well done. Will subscribe for sure!
So glad to hear you're using them and feeling good! I have a great video on my channel with move variations if you need to mix things up too!
I was just about to buy a battle rope. But then I remembered that I saw you had a video on them. I wanted to watch your video before buying one because I knew you'd give the best and most honest advice. Thank you for that.🙂❤
love the science!! keep going!!! great job!
Very informative 👏 please keep posting. Very helpful
Started watching your videos a couple days ago. Love both your exercise demos as well as this video, in terms of how you explain the knowledge and logic behind the exercises. Thank you so much! Wanna say hi from Taiwan.
Hi in Taiwan! Welcome to RS. Glad the videos help!

Thank you!
Great explanation! Thank you very much ❤️❤️
Thank you. I will use them. 👍💪
Excellent video! Love the studies being added.
So glad it helps!
This was the best and most extensive explanation of battle rope training I ever came across on the internet. I'll be trying it out at the gym next time. Thanks for the video, Coach Cori! 🤓
Aw thanks so much!! Definitely try them out with your injuries the low impact will be good. Although I remember I think you mentioned elbow pain in the past? Be careful to grip or even change your grip to use all your flexors and not just perpetuate overuse. Also play around with grip. By flipping the handles up it can often help too!
You are right, Cori. Thank you very much for the advice and for remembering!😉
It will work for abs
@@redefiningstrengthOC I want the two gauge grip, with the 50 plus length because according to your video the guys went nowhere fast with a 1.5 gauge 50 length rope. However for those with smaller hands, we can't get the two inch gauge to fit in our hand. I want a proper grip when I'm doing my hard exercises. What do we do? The smaller grip and the lighter rope as you confirmed is of no use to me and my objectives but a bigger rope is of no use either because my hand can't even wrap around it to get the most out of it! How can you help me? Thank you for your insightful video
Great job! I used to have only a limited amount of exercises involving battle ropes. This expanded my battle rope horizons!
Glad to provide some new options!
Thank you for the information
Very Informative!!
I saw the list of references. Instantly Liked and Subscribed. Get it!!!!
Thank you so much for this very detailed explanation of why battle ropes are an excellent way to improve your overall exercise performance/routine. I was once a bodybuilder, but have let my training lapse, as a result, I am having to go back to the basics to just get started working out again. I am older now so, I'm interested in low impact equipment for my joints, and was thinking about incorporating the battle rope into my workouts, but had little knowledge of their versatility and benefit. This video was an excellent step-by-step guide to shed some light on how great a tool they are to add to your training regimen. Again, many thanks for helping me to seal the deal in my decision to purchase one!
Wow so informative I just got my first battle rope and did my first workout and this makes me even happier with the purchase. I look foward to the benefits of Battle roping.
Great. Thanks. Terrific, clear and enthusiastic explanations!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!

Nice comprehensive and concise summary of battle rope. It's important to support with reliable studies. Thanks for the references too!
Glad you liked it!
Awesome info!
Really great content. I only have a 30 foot rope and was confused by men needing more than a 50 footer to see vO2 improvements. I used battle ropes in my journey 5 years ago when I was losing weight and gaining strength. I made huge gains in endurance and lowered my resting heart rate significantly. I only use them occasionally now to mix things up but have not been in the same shape since regarding ease of breathing during intense workouts. Battle ropes are crazy good. Thanks for sharing this info!
It's not that it can't at all. And frankly I use 50ft with my ladies and that study recommended shorter. It was more that the study found that length to be helpful as a suggestion. Let's face it...If you work hard and push what you can do with even a light weight aka use VOLUME or TEMPO as the challenge over the load or length, you're going to see results. Great job on your weight loss journey! Congrats on staying consistent for 5 years and building that fitness!
Excellent video, with some cool science to help back it up. one of the funnest ways to get cardio in!
Yes they are such a fun way to do cardio!

YAY! Glad you liked it!
Excellent tutorial on battle ropes. Just started and since I'm a male, fit but in mid '70s I went for a 1 1/2 x 30' rope. I can see that I can go longer and heavier but i think I'll save that for the future since my main concern is to avoid injury. Thanks again for this video.
They low impact so won't causes injury
Very very good video and very well organized. You gained a subscriber from Spain
