Currently I've been doing this minimalist routine for 2 years now using jump rope, bodyweight, and optional resistance bands. Starting my workout with warm up amrap (as many rounds as possible) doing 10 jumping jacks and 1 squat to inchworm with alternating tow taps in 90 seconds or duration of one anime opening/ending. Then using the emom (Every Minute on the Minute) protocol I do 10 push ups, 10 squats, and 5 banded row variation (or 5 pull ups/inverted rows if you are up to it) on the minute 1. On minute 2 I do my freestyle jump rope until the timer ends. Repeat this process until 6 minutes but not below 20-30 minutes on the weekends. I do this every other day usually drawing wild cards between upper/lower/full body split using just a fundamental exercises. The real reason why I started to jump rope workout is so I am conditioned for any hiking trips and additional outdoor activities. Doing this workout scheme for 2 years I look like a bodybuilder now. Even my grandmother in japan told me I've gotten bigger over the past 5 years since the last time I saw her.
Jumping rope has been my primary conditioning/cardio exercise for a couple years now. Love it so much. I use 3/4 and 1 pound crossropes for added arm/shoulder conditioning. I actually designed and built my shop to accommodate indoor jumping because I'm in the good ol Pacific Northwest (PDX); outdoor jumping only lasts part of the year. I do 3-4 sessions per week, some long and some short (10-20 minutes each). My favorite part of the video was when you burst out in a tribal scream and threw the rope after a high intensity finish. Good stuff, thanks as always.
Jump rope is my go to. It works. Been doing it for years. 30 seconds on - 10 off for 30 minutes with a one minute break in between - which is when I will now incorporate the SQUAT! I use a 1/2 and or 1/4 lb crossrope (best jump ropes out there).

Every day I practice a mic release and can't wait for the day I can do it. So far, I have a broken light, a black eye and a busted handle. But I am not giving up, jump, jump, jump!!! :)
I started jumping rope (skipping as we say in the UK) and I totally agree with what you say about feeling more confident afterwards - and not struggling for breath whilst elevating the heart rate. I love it!
I'm 75 and I've been jumèing rope for years,. These days I do 1 minute on and 15 seconds rest for t0 or 15 minutes. I do this almost every day and now that I live in Bali, itàs really not conducive to running and that's gotten pretty hard on my joints anyway. I've been doing this for years on and off though I used to just do 12 minutes straight with no rest intervals.

More fun, less annoying, takes less space, you can do it brainlessly in front of TV or computer. Its awesome

When I was a kid my dad would periodically announce to me and my 2 sisters that it was "Who wants a Kit Kat?" time.. From the land down under! Each year in Australia, there is an annual high jump contest where all Australian species are invited to attend. Kangaroos have won every year since the first contest was held in 1972. That is going to change next year. That is why I jump rope.

Living it up in the Midwest. Gotta jump rope to build recovery and practice fall avoidance while walking through my kids' rooms in the dark (toys, legos, pencils, thumb tacks, you name it…)
How often should I jump rope to get conditioned and to see results?
Currently on the Isle of Wight, England and jumping rope is fab as it provides you with the most unique experience - getting whipped in the calves (worse if you have a speed rope)! But hey it increases your pain threshold and patience 🙃
Awesome, I literally just started jumping rope again and you make this video love it. Thank you
Me too. 🙂
From H-Town, Texas. Have to start sometime, jump rope into it!

I learned to jump rope at 48 years old. Now I’m 52 and still jumping five times a week.
I jump rope for 30seconds to a minute in between my lifting sets. I thought I'd lose strength on lifts but that has not happened at all. I'm soaked in sweat throughout my workout. It works for me. Thanks for the video.
Hi Josh. I'm in England and I think people should jump rope because if you ever need to jam like Frogger, you got it covered!

2. That jump rope blood flow translates quite well in the bedroom.
15-20 minute jump rope sessions a few times per week goes a very long way. Couple that with some rope flow?! That’s a recipe for greatness. Love the idea of sitting in the squat during the rest time!
Highly appreciative of this!
Thank you.
Jump Rope Dudes x Strength Side video would be dope
Just found your channel and I'm loving all our great tips. Here in North Carolina. Every time I look out my two story window, I wonder if I would be able to jump safely if there was a fire. I guess start training with a jump rope!
I especially like how hard it is to find an excuse to not jump rope, it made the habit stick easier. It's cheap, portable, and you can do it inside.
Good morning from Michigan! I love to jump rope and try to add it in with every workout, even if it's just a few minutes. Working on different techniques, so this was really helpful. Thank you for the great information, as always! Get back to jump roping, it'll make you feel like a kid again...or make you frustrated until you throw it because you're not as light and agile as you were as a kid. Even more reason to get back at it! Have a blessed day! (Your little ones are so adorable)
For last 2 years ive used skipping as warm up and cool down before training
Cool. Your video is really on timing for me.I've recenty introduced jumping rope (starting from a very beginner) as warm up phase, 8-10 min (stopping only when I hit the rope). I've replace run with jumping rope, for warming up before streight workout, because I feel it warm me up ?better?. Here is the the fun (for me at least) love this Rochy Balboa feeling while listening "eye of the tiger" when I'm jumping..
This video...
Gamechanger.
I have been jumping rope for about 2 months now. I get that feeling every time I start off, you feel like this is hard work how am I going to do this for 30mins. By the time you get to 30 mins you carry on to 45mins its an odd sensation

Location: London - I’ve always fancied myself doing double Dutch-because if my coordination skills don’t give everyone a good laugh, my mid-air flailing certainly will. Plus, it's a great way to show my kids in their 20's-30's I've still got some serious moves! 😎✌
Hey it's Bob1 and Bob2! Hi Josh, it's Bob from Victoria BC. Why you should jump rope. When I was a kid my dad would periodically announce to me and my 2 sisters that it was "Who wants a Kit Kat?" time.. This meant that he would toss a Kit Kat chocolate bar in the air and the 3 of us would have to jump for it. Jumping rope would obviously help win such a challenge if it were held today! Cheers
Any good links / recommendations for jump ropes?
