7:52 That's a french ad but the filming took place in Mallorca (Spain). That is a very famous road in Mallorca where a lot of ads are filmed (Sa Calobra road). I guess they took a truck from some local company to film the ad.
Man, I could tell from the go that that was some Mediterranean Spanish scenery right there, and when the car's license plate showed up it was the confirmation of it. However, it took me a while to figure out what province that "PM" stood for 😂 Palma de Mallorca, of course! I miss the old style license plates with the province at the beginning 😁
great video! I like the salmon & bear commercial personally...... Music: "Estrelar" by Marcos Valle was used in a Southern Comfort commercial and always made me smile. Also, "Da Da Da" by Trio was a memorable one for VW.

With regards to the Tabasco/mosquito one, the chemical in chillies that makes them hot (capsaicin) only affects mammals, so an insect like a mosquito wouldn't notice any heat. That's why people often put mega hot chilli powder in their bird feeders; it keeps squirrels away but doesn't affect the birds at all.
The "get up'uh" commercial ran so much in a single month in Rio de Janeiro that I still resent the brand for how aggressive their marketing was 😅 Great ideia, good video, horrible schedule strategy
John West was originally a UK company (now owned by a Thai company), but this commercial was made by a Canadian company for them to be advised in North America. so it's not really a European ad.
My favorite commercial was the big guy "twisting to open." That also appeared in the U.S. during a football game and nearly the entire office was laughing about it the next day.
It must have been a US commercial anyway. I can’t figure out in what European country Miller light would pass as beer, no matter how many advertisements they made.
Boombastic by Shaggy from the 90s Levi's commercial, Make Me Bad by Korn in the 2000 Puma commercial and Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet in the 2004 iPod commercial.
Those chocolate bar commercials with the guy pushing over the cars seems to have been a running joke. The one with the red car seems to have been done for a Spanish and Catalan audience which could explain the use of a french word.

I remember the Japp commercials from many many years ago. I'm Swedish, but not a word on screen here was Swedish, so I guess it was made for other countries too. Your guess at Danish was probably correct for one of the languages. (Japp is very similar to a Mars bar and sold under the Marabou brand here since 1947.)
my favorite funny commercials is one I shared in the comments on your Apollo 13 video, recently... with the astronauts who are attacked by the space monster.
Japp is an originally Swedish chocolate bar sold in Norway and Sweden, and I remember seeing all these commercials back int he day and they were quite a hit.
"Highway Star" by Deep Purple comes to mind for cars. Maybe it and "Born to be Wild" are cousins? "Drive My Car" by the Beatles is another. The salmon commercial with the bear doing kung-fu was funny, the first one I did an out-loud laugh to.
A little unrelated, but some of these commercials remind me of Monty Python skits/ sketches... The classic Euro wit. Not sure if you have seen any Monty Python before, but I think they would be right up your alley ;p "The Argument Clinic" is one of my favourites, but you really can't go wrong.
The Japp bar commercials are Norwegian as Freia is or maybe was a Norwegian chocolate company (now flagged out) - however the landscape in the commercial is more like south European, certainly not Scandinavian. Oh dear, this reminded be about going to the cinema in the 1990’s am 100% sure this commercial ran in the cinemas at that time. The text about "Xtra energy" was indeed "Scandinavian" as it would be understood in both Norwegian, Swedish and Danish, even some people in Iceland might also have understood it. The added Spanish text points to the commercial probably have been shown in more European countries - at least Spain. Regards Thomas from Oslo, Norway.
Speaking of spicy water, I just remembered something wonderful I discovered when I was young and stoned. Get a fountain drink Dr. Pepper. It's not the same when you use a can or a bottle Dr. Pepper. Then, add chopped jalapenos in it. They sink to the bottom and for the first minute or two you notice nothing. Between 2 to 5 minutes, it's like Dr. Pepper with a little bit of heat to it. It's wonderful. The longer you let it sit, the hotter gets. It doesn't get unbearably hot, but the flavor does start to change between 5 and 10 minutes. It's not bad though. Serving size is important for timing how spicy you want it. Personally, I'll like it where it still taste just like Dr. Pepper but with some heat. Absolutely worth trying. I first had this with a tuna sub. It's not a Texan thing, but it should be.
The full-length versions of the Reebok (I think?) commercials featuring Terrible Terry Tate, Office Linebacker are hilarious and great fun. I'd recommend checking out that series at some point if you can.
I recommend you watch the Gheorghe Muresan Snickers Commercials. There's two of them. They're very funny, especially if you remember the Michael Jordan cologne.

Back in the 90s and 2000s Argentinian ads were topnotch! They used to play quite a few of them in Spain, where I'm from. I actually remember watching a special TV show about award-winning ads from all over the world and Argentina was always among the winners. A lot of creativity feom their agencies.
An interesting fact about Yellow Pages was they forgot to trademark that name, so some random guy trademarked it then sued the company for millions. They then changed their name to Golden Pages. I don't know. If you said spicy water I'd think vodka or something. In fact vodka means "little water". Voda is water and changing the ending to -ka makes it diminutive. Believed to originate from doctors once having small bottles of alcoholic tonics. "small waters" if I remember correctly
Wow - yellow pages! I remember as a kid in the 70's getting the white pages for all of the state, and the Yellow Pages was mostly for companies. Sooooooo much wasted paper at the time. Obviously prior to the internet - you folks have no idea about reading a map I'm sure 😀

@07:49 _Wait, what country was this from?_ I think Denmark.. I have seen it in Denmark but so long ago that I can't recall the spoken part. What was on the screen was definitely Danish though. The "L'enegeie" part was just playing cool or high class, like when the English and the American say Cést La Vie, Voila etc. PS: Traditionally in Denmark (a century ago) the Royal & co. spoke French, business owners spoke Geman & peasants spoke Danish.
.. the Renault one Get Upaaa is Brazilian, JP Jovem Pan is a Radio Station in São Paulo, they made a Clio special edition, I'm old enough to remember that.
That ad is actually Argentinian, produces by the Agulla & Baccetti agency. It was played all around the world, including Spain, where I'm from. Despite not being the biggest fan of Argentinians, I must admit that back in the day they used to make the funniest TV ads, usually winning worldwide advertisement awards.
"Godt med Xtra energi" could either be Danish or Norwegian. That sentence is the same in both languages, though xtra is actually written as ekstra. I haven't watched TV in years and I use adblock so I dont actually know of any songs used in commercials :( Emerald by Thin Lizzy is a pretty awesome song though and I'm sure someone, somewhere, at some point, have licensed it for commercial purposes. That'll have to do :)
Thanks for adding this! I don’t know much about the Norwegian language. You song recommendation just lead me into a search of the Thin Lizzy lead vocalist, he has a unique look to him
@@NoProtocol Yeah he did. A pretty unique specimen in the history of rock n roll. Great band Thin Lizzy. There are two written forms of Norwegian and the one called Bokmål (which is the official state language) is very similar to Danish. Danish was the official state language in Norway for many years before Norway gained its independence and Bokmål (or Riksmål as it was called then) was established through a spelling reform in 1907. The other official written form is something called Nynorsk (New Norwegian) which was created by a guy named Ivar Aasen by gathering together many of the various accents or dialects around the country. Some places in the country use it for spelling but its mostly used as a poetic language, though it is mandatory learning in school.
