2:20 You should know that there is even a cheaper way to travel with the public transportation in Sofia. You can buy a daily ticket that is good for the whole line of public transportation in the city, you can get on as many buses, metros and so on, without having to buy any other tickets. It costs only 4.00 BGN and it saves you a lot of money. More tourists should know about that as the daily tickets aren't really shown anywhere, unless you know they exist. Hmmm the brownish drink that you guys bought is called “boza” is malt ,fermented drink made from wheat or millet. It has a low alcohol content from about a 1%. This is typical breakfast drink. One of the few things i really miss here in the states . Enjoy it 🥺
Plovdiv, the second biggest city in Bulgaria is 153 cm south east and it is inhabited for 8000 years now and has 4 hills! And amazing mountain views and even cheaper prices.
Where the heck did you find a place to stay for so cheap? My wife is Bulgarian, and we've been there many times, and have never found so cheap a place in Sofia.
This was a long time ago, but I'm almost positive we used the app: AGODA. We've found a lot of inexpensive accommodation that isn't listed on Airbnb using it!
Public transport one-way ticket actually costs about a dollar - 1.60lv which is slightly less than $1. But 1 day pass costs just 4 lv ($2.30) and gives you unlimitted access to all public transportat throughout the day- metro, buses, trams and trolleys. Going from city center to Vitosha Mountain is cheap but relatively time consuming. You'll have to change one or two bus lines plus a lift line taking you up to the peak (2194m). You can get two different lifts in Dragalevtsi and Simoenov districts. Take bus N64 to Dragalevtsi or Bus 98/67 to Simeonovo. Once in Dragalevtsi or Simeonovo there will be signs for Lift's direction. You won't regret the views and time spent on the mountain! Plus, there are two or three bistro's at the last lift station.
This drink you bought from BILLA, we call it boza, it's just a flower, sugar mixed with water (of course it contains a lot other sweeteners and stuff like that)
Dishwasher amazing......yes it is as its a washer!! I am loving the carpet! But the shower seems odd surely everything gets wet in clouding the toilet paper?
8:43 NOOO GUYS it's not a chocolate milk it's a special drink which I believe (not 100% sure) is only selled in bulgaria it's called "boza" in Bulgarian
I am from Sofia and i didnt know that it is the oldest city. I just understand from your video. Thanks i didnt notice that is that cheaper than other countrees.
Bozah is one of the best snack drinks! It goes great with Banitsa! It can feel unusual to someone who have never tried it before but it is something one could definitely grow to love to overtime. :)

yeah the prices are good but in bulgaria the minimum payment is 600lv so an average person will make atleast 1300lv you can't live with those kind of money and if you have kids oh boy
Did anyone tell you, you can get a Day-Pass for the entire public transportation system of Sofia for 4 leva per person? I tell this every time a foreigner stops and ask me something related to the public transportation .
If you come back you have to try banitsa bob chorba and rakiya. While you were in sofia gave you heared chalga. If you do not know what is that pisten to the song po takiva si padam. You should know that the yogurt originally comes from Bulgaria
Thank you that your so possitive and not haters that dont like new places. Im from Bulgaria and I love people like you. I was in USA this year and found that american people are very veryyy kind to me and my friends. And I was in many towns from Washington to Chikago. I loved it. Next year I will be in Florida to see more from your country. Thanks again and next time check the list of “100 national objects” and see as many as you can. You will love it for sure :)
Thank you for your kind words and we are glad Americans treated you well! Thanks for watching our video!
Im from middle europe. I was in Sofia this year, i have enjoyed it a lot. Especially the very nice people i met. I don't want to mention the "cheap topic", i can imagine how people are fed up with this when living there. Its so unfair people from eastern/south eastern Europe has such a low salary ☹️
The biggest reason we have low salary is bacuse u westerners have big salary. Do u get it?
How can I find information about this apartment?
Thank you
It was listed on Airbnb at $14 usd a night, but that was more than a year ago.
I live in Bulgaria, Sofia. I'm happy to see people like u in our capital and i'm happy to hear that u like it. :)
Thank you for your kind words & for watching our video!
Good job guys Im bulgarian and I love to see things like this about my country.
Plovdiv ( Bulgaria) is the oldest town in Europe
The unknown drink is called “boza,, it is made from wheat and sugar mostly. Also why you didn’t try banitsa its the best thing ever -it’s made from bun and cheese . in a combination with boza or airian it’s amazing
Sometimes I love arian and boza
8:44 this is boza/боза traditional drink in Bulgaria

Haha thank youuuuu!!! We did not love boza, but it was fun to try it! Thanks for watching!
@@Peregrination you have to drink it with banitza, it's not very nice on its own
There is small % of alcohol in it
@@timelytyba2869 You must drink when it's fresh or it start to ferment and lost it taste. Buy it early in morning with some banica.
Щях да го кажа хахаха/i will said right Now hahahah😂❤️
Nicely done, Bulgaria is quite cheap (compared to most of Europe) and there's lots to see!
the drink is said like "BO Za" it's a wheat drink. It's super gross but my bulgarian wife loves it.
Gunther Gunderson it’s not gross. Actually it’s almost like beer. It’s basically fermented wheat that is slightly alcoholic and it has a lot of good enzymes for your stomach
I like to boza and I'm to from Bulgaria
Yea, it is gross
It is gross
You are so positive and always smiling - you are great! 😊
Thank you for watching our video!
Most westerners are...
It's "budget friendly" for the tourists, but in the sad reality citizens are struggling, because the aravage sallary here is around $650 a month.

Plovdiv is the oldest town in Europe😁❤️
They said the oldest capital, don’t correct them.
OMG!!! I am from Bulgaria, thank you very much that you made a video for my city!
the BOZA is traditional Bulgarian drink but the most of the bulgarians dont like it :)))
Hello, we hope you're well and keeping safe. we are going to Bulgaria in just over 2 weeks thanks for putting up this video is there any tips you can give us while we are there? Kind Regards Sarah and Glenn
The "Boza" is for cici rastezh
Hmmm the brownish drink that you guys bought is called “boza” is malt ,fermented drink made from wheat or millet. It has a low alcohol content from about a 1%. This is typical breakfast drink. One of the few things i really miss here in the states . Enjoy it 🥺
Nice video, I'm from Bulgaria!😜👍
Thank you for watching our video!
Plovdiv, the second biggest city in Bulgaria is 153 cm south east and it is inhabited for 8000 years now and has 4 hills! And amazing mountain views and even cheaper prices.
Okay I like how they think it is cheap just because the currency is different for them. I wish going to US can be like 5 lev = 10 dollars :D
that drink you picked up is called boza and you usually drink it with banitsa. i personally hate it but a lot of bulgarians love it
Minimum monthly wage in Bulgaria is 315 USD, so guys its cheap for you, but not for us... :)
I love looking at my country through other people's eyes, especially foreigners. Great video!
Thanks for the love!
Plus, there are two or three bistro's at the last lift station.
cudos for trying boza! i really admire you for that!
Yes we always have to take the toilet paper out of the room when we turn the water on. Thanks for watching our video!
8:43 NOOO GUYS it's not a chocolate milk it's a special drink which I believe (not 100% sure) is only selled in bulgaria it's called "boza" in Bulgarian
9 leva for 2 soups and 2 pieces of bread....LOL that's not even cheap
9 lewa is like 6,50 dollar
I'am from Bulgaria, and the drink is traditional Bulgarian drink, which each of us have drunk since we were children and we combine it with banitsa
I am from Sofia and i didnt know that it is the oldest city. I just understand from your video.
Thanks i didnt notice that is that cheaper than other countrees.

someone probably already pointed this out but those buses with cables are called trams.
I live in Bulgaria🇧🇬❣️
That brown drink its called Boza.I hate it but my parents love it.
8:22 This drink is called buza.
The more you know.
:)
Bozah is one of the best snack drinks! It goes great with Banitsa! It can feel unusual to someone who have never tried it before but it is something one could definitely grow to love to overtime. :)
Thank you for watching our video!
Wonderful !

Next time don't even think about soup buy duner and rakia
Thanks for visiting Bulgaria. It's small country, but here are beaches, mountains and culture landmarks that you can visit😂😁🤗
"Боза" is tasty only with "баница със сирене" 😁
"А, баш!"
What is the name of the soup restaurant? I couldn't make it out on the sign, I'd like to visit on my upcoming trip
It says Dondukov 17 as the address and the name is Supa (Soup) Star. Considering the address it should be right in the centre of the city, with all those big white buildings you saw.
@@WetPig thanks!
9:00 This drink is,, boza"
yeah the prices are good but in bulgaria the minimum payment is 600lv so an average person will make atleast 1300lv you can't live with those kind of money and if you have kids oh boy
Sounds like a Med student friendly vacation !
Ohhhh yeah! Its called ballin' on a budget.
Did anyone tell you, you can get a Day-Pass for the entire public transportation system of Sofia for 4 leva per person? I tell this every time a foreigner stops and ask me something related to the public transportation .
09:20 boza (боза) Haha there is some % alcohol..
If you come back you have to try banitsa bob chorba and rakiya. While you were in sofia gave you heared chalga. If you do not know what is that pisten to the song po takiva si padam. This is music which is really popular in bulgaria macedonia serbia turkey and greece. What did not you like and what did you like in sofia?
