I always like to see where you guys are staying because you're Airbnb's are always nice! I agree with you love the aesthetic of the trams is Sofia, they are really cool! I wonder where you are going next!
Slightly Off The Beaten Track Thank you, haha I swear it takes us a whole week to find each Airbnb. We always try to look for the best prices 😅. We loved the trams 😍. We plan on going to Turkey 🇹🇷 next!
Public transport sounds affordable! Surprising they don't have Uber or an English equivalent ride hailing app tho! Food seems affordable too 👍🙂 you guys are so good cooking! We just eat out all the time lol 😅 but I guess in Asia it's so cheap and just easier. Flixbus, got it 😁👍 Handy and informative video Lana, nice work, thanks for sharing! 🙂
Peter and Yen Sofia was super affordable. Some countries don’t have Uber. Taxi me worked fine for us even though we don’t speak Bulgarian, we still just typed in the address as normal. We got most of our rides almost free since they give really good discounts for the first 3 rides 😱. Yeah we used to eat out in the first year in SEA too since it was so cheap. But we started to miss healthy eating a lot, (I wasn’t used to eating that much rice 😂) plus we save so much by doing groceries 😅. Thanks for watching 😁
These cost of living vlogs you do are just getting better and better. So informative and full of those little hidden costs. Where are you off to next. (you are probably there already) keep up the great work.
Kiwi John Thanks so much, John! We’re heading to Turkey tomorrow. Very excited for the new adventure, should be quite different from the places we’ve been so far 😊.
Hey Lana, great video. I see you have a similar one for Bucharest. Which city do you think it is 'better' for a freelancer / digital nomad? Bucharest or Sofia?
Personally I preferred Sofia. But that’s just because it felt more homey to me and they do have a nice co working space. Internet wise both places had really fast speeds. Hope this helps 😊
1 bedroom apartment in the city is far from 200 usd... The airbnb or a place like that you were in will cost you around roughly 600-800 levs per month to rent long term (around 400-450 usd). A nice apartment for 200 usd simply doesnt exist, even the worst places with cockroaches start from around 250 dollars at least. TaxiMe isn't an app that's used all around the country. Some cities have their own taxi apps that locals use. Uber did work in the country till 2016, prices weren't better than a taxi.
Yasen Thanks so much Yasen, it’s a shame that the website I use to make my cost of living videos updated this a few days after I made the video 🤦🏽♀️. That would make sense why we had troubles with Taxime in Plovdiv then 😅. Nonetheless the public transport was very easy to use and we found Sofia and Plovdiv very walkable. Thanks again for this informative comment!
Hey ..nice information also I have check myself little bit ...I want to buy a house in Bulgaria..good place budget 30 million dollars ....which will be best place for staying...or children school ..now age is two years old. ❤️❤️
Hello! Thanks for watching 😊🙏 Sorry I don’t know too much about which areas would be the best to buy. I’m sure if you joined a Bulgaria Facebook group someone could help you with this question though 😊
NOTE: You made a big mistake, letting people know tap water here is drinkable throe out our whole country. IT IS NOT. If you are at our seaside you never should drink tap water.
170 for food for a month. Did you eat anything. Bulgaria is 5 times more expensive than UK. I do not know how you can say that, OT MAY YOU ARE ON DIET.
Where is the most affordable place you have stayed in Europe?
Curious to hear your answers 😄.
John Singer Oh we were thinking of going there. Someday we’ll have to go back and see for ourselves 😊.
Hungary 10 euro for a nice double room with tv internet air-conditioning . In Budapest, maybe i had luck
Sarajevo has to be top 5 cheapest capital cities in Europe. Can live like a king!
Top review of Bulgaria, from GB/Great Britain to BG/Bulgaria Lived there/here long time and love very much.

Really enjoyed this video. Sofia seems like a really lovely place and very cost effective. The trams look unique.
Thank you! And yes it was very cost effective. The trams we're my favourite 😍

Nice interesting video thanks for sharing..
Hello Luz! Thanks for watching. Are you travelling to Bulgaria 🇧🇬 any time soon? 🙂
those internet speeds are unusually low for bulgaria, should be around 75 down, 35 up
Тъжен помен рекърдс In Plovdiv our internet was slower than this. Some Airbnb’s just use cheaper internet, it still works perfect for us though 😁.
When you said $181 eating out I thought, well, same as here in the US. But in fact it is THE MONTH not the meal :D
😁
Greetings from Morocco good Luck ♥️♥️
Greetings! Thank you!

Hello ❤️❤️ from india
I am sorry but you cannot get an apartment for 200 dollars in Sofia. Not sure where you get such prices. Maybe you can rent a room. that is it.
Rositsa Petrova The website I use is usually pretty accurate. I see they update the prices after i’ve posted this 😅. Thank you for commenting!
@@LanaTiare well i know the market well...so i tell you that such prices do not exist....maybe a few years ago but not any more
Rositsa Petrova Ah I see. Yeah I checked the website again they’ve increased the prices. Thanks for commenting so others can see 😊.
Hi , can I get a monthly all lines transport pass and a data sim card at the airport?? :)
No
the rent is monthly basis?
Yep the prices are on a monthly basis 😊. I used numbeo (website) for the local prices of rentals.
Sofia still doesn't have uber?
No unfortunately not. Unless it’s changed since I was there. But they do have affordable local taxis 🚕
@@LanaTiare The apps which you mentioned on video doesnt show us the price before get in taxi like uber?
@@emirozgunlu5367 Yeah the apps don’t work like Uber, so you will have to make sure they use the meter
Are u stay sofia
