One visit to Iceland is never enough, I have done two laps with my daughter in 2021 and 2023, both in Summer to take advantage of the long days for photography. The country is simply mind blowing, active volcanoes, Whales, Puffins, Waterfalls, stunning beaches and epic landscapes with gorgeous light 👌 the people make it even more special. Yet to brave a Winter trip but the pull of the Aurora is hard to resist 😉
Uh Oh.... I say this, once you have been to Iceland you will always return. Saving up for my 9th trip. On my first trip I caught plane flu, ended up hugging the radiator in the hotel but like you needed to get on with it. Glad I did as we saw a great aurora show that evening.
PS. Gary, thank you for your wonderful videos, I’ve learned so much over the years from your hints and tips, and I’ve lived vicariously through your videos. Thank you and merry Christmas. All the best mate.
I am really quite enjoying your channel - the content, your narrative, the calm (yet excited) energy and of course the images you have produced. Thank you for all the inspiration!
Ha! Ha!, love the 'crampons recommended' sign near the end. Epic landscape. Thanks. Sorry to hear about your poor health. Hope you're soon recovered. Happy Christmas.
Nice work garÿ, we visited last march and were also ill! Gullfoss is difficult, crowded and so very cold! I am looking forward to the next videos. We prefer Husavik and the north these days as much quieter. Cheers.
Hope you get back to Iceland sometime when you hopefully will not have to contend with illness and can spend a little more time capturing images. Would love to see more of what you can offer in this fantastic country because I don’t feel we have seen your best so far and that is meant in a positive and respectful way because your content is inspirational, educational, and entertaining. Thank you for sharing.
Wow.. Sorry to hear you were unwell.. You have captured some stunning images for us to look at.. Vik is an incredible place. With its black volcanic sands and the church. Gullfoss waterfall man I remember going over the small hill and just standing there breathless at the scale of it.. Did you go to the visitors centre and get a plate of their soup... What a meal it was.. Cant wait until the next video.. Take care hope you are feeling better now..
Another great video Gary and timely as well, I'm flying to Iceland from Australia in early January for an 8 day photography tour. I love exploring this world of ours, trying (sometimes in vain) to record its beauty. Keep up the great work and never stop showing us your photography & your travels.
Well Gary I'm glad you got the chance to get your butt out and do a little photography while you are still under the weather Definitely got some beautiful shots thank you
@@GaryGough Oh and I forgot to ask you about your opinion about the new canyon firmware paywall system that just started right after of course a year ago with the Pentax firmware that is now behind pay walls for five functions that used to be available for 8 years now it's behind by paywalls $70 a piece and you can't find where to go
@@GaryGough Also forgot to elaborate on the payments of that Canon firmware update which is $350 firmware update and on top of that it cost you $250 to ship your camera to Canon to have them update the firmware which we are to naive to do anymore obviously and you have to ship it back to yourself for another $250 what do you think of that bull crap because I don't like it it's just as bad as the Pentax paywall bull crap
I was gutted for you not feeling well and spending a few days in bed, but thank goodness you managed to get out. Hope you are feeling better now. Definitely a stunning place. Great image's as usual. Look forward to the next one episode. Here's wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Surely, one of my most wanted destinations but sadly so expensive to get there. Glad you could make it there despite the tough circumstances. Looking forward to seeing the next videos.
Hey Gary, awesome video, such a shame you were under the weather, hope you are feeling better, stunning locations and can't wait for part two, thanks as always for the inspiration, wishing you and yours all the very best for Christmas and New Year.
Fantastic I love seeing all what you do and thank you so much for shearing it. This looks an amazing place to visit and I am inspired to go myself one day when finances let me. hope you well on to recovery now and a happy Christmas and New Year to you. Looking forward to seeing the rest of Iceland.
What a shame that you did not feel well for your trip. I do understand your excitement for this beautyful country, and you must try to go there again. I have been to Iceland twice to photograph, and Im going back in summer 2025... Cant wait. I really liked your photos from Vik , which is one of my favorit places...
Think you`ve convinced me to go back Gary, loved t the first time i went absolutley freezing ,blowing a gale, lost gear but still loved it (and hopefully with a new filter set lol)
It’s such a shame that you were ill and couldn’t enjoy the experience as much as you should have been able to. Still a fantastic video and the images you captured are stunning.
Too bad I'm in the US! Would love a chance for the filter kit. I'll just have to buy me one! ; ) Glad you got to feeling better and were able to get some stunning photos! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
@GaryGough not to worry, Gary - only ever won two things in my whole life - a massive jar of pickled onion and a ladies handbag! Neither were of any use to me. Enjoy your Christmas
Iceland is a landscape photographers paradise as there are so many vista's to capture ! I have been to the waterfall in thus video, an d I had problems with the water spray from the waterfall landing on my lens and freezing ! However, an incredible place to visit.
Hope you are feeling better - great video! From USA, we cannot enter your contest. What was the temperatures, did you have any trouble with your camera battery?
Your video and pics are great but the NISI Competition isn't. I live in Canada and there is no way for me to sign up that's a shame I'm sorry but that is not right.
Sorry, but I do not believe in flying all around the world for vacationing or photography. Our fragile planet’s atmosphere is stressed beyond capacity now.
Life without vacation is rough. Travel to new places and the anticipation helps many of us deal with the worst sides of life and in many people inspires empathy and caring about the world around us. I appreciate your motivation, but there are many positives in travel.

I've been there :) Cheers John. Thank you 👍👍
Hey Gary, imagine that, time for a sleep in before blue hour. Incredible.
I was in Iceland last summer with my family. LOVELY! I wouldn't mind going again solo to take the Fotos in peace rather than have to rush...
Thank you 👍👍
A challenging place to photograph in winter, but well worth it despite the wind, snow and cold. Brought back happy memories of our trip watching this.
Went to Iceland late 2023 and what an amazing place to photograph. Glad you enjoyed it Gary and looking forward to some more of your videos.
Thanks 👍
Hi Gary hope your feeling better. Enjoyed watching your video as always 👍. Merry Christmas everyone and all the best for 2025🎄☃❄🏔🎅.
If I had a bucket, Iceland would be in there!
You need to go there Dennis. Thank you 👍👍
Another good video I love your enthusiasm it gives me motivation. Thank you

I follow another photographer (Mad Peter Iversen) and he has done a number of visits/videos of Iceland, what an amazing place
Yeah he's a great guy 👍👍
Does the washing maching do a dry cycle too??
Oh its a filter kit! First glance, i had it as a washing machine haha
Hi Gary, when you do your sunrise and post processing day next year, Elaine would like it if you could arrange for the sunrise to be at 1100 😀
I’d have had to clone out those vapour trails at 11:15 😊.
Those last images of the waterfall were stunning!! Hope you are feeling better!
Yes! Thank you!
Your video and pics are great but the NISI Competition isn't. I live in Canada and there is no way for me to sign up that's a shame I'm sorry but that is not right.

@@brucetreloar3200 I was nice about it and did not start the conversation.
Sorry you feel like that Walter. Life is too short, go and enjoy it!
