Well left hand translated into Latin Literally means Sinestre or Sinister, Drinking from the cup that was counting my time, could possibly mean wasting your life in indulgence. The cup of man, of course, means universal shared human experience. So knowing this I've concluded that what he's saying is "The loneliest time in my life was the time I wasted on indulgence, Because when you indulge in yourself, you isolate yourself, and doing this leads you down a dark path."
