All new car prices are insane. Look at the price of a mid range Fiesta!
you should not base it purely on the purchase price, most ev's will do 400 miles for £20 with little or no maintenance

Seems nice enough, but would have to be ground breaking to justify the price IMO. I also think it's unfair to ask for £55k for anything with those VW steering wheel controls and infotainment.
If Cupra doesn't make their own software and get away from the idiotic touch buttons they will suffer like the rest vw group.
I love the interior it looks so unique not sold in my country though😥
Cupra designers are smart enough not to put a rear wiper. It would definitely ruin the looks.
My Skoda has no rear wiper , it’s a real pain when it’s wet and reversing limits your view a lot

Exterior looks really good! Not sure I'd compare a car with 540 litres of storage to The Model Y which has over 900 (before folding seats). Also just FYI my Model Y has up to a 351 miles of supposed range (19inch wheels) so it's not less than the Tavascan. Nice to see other brands improving their offering, hope they actually produce this in a reasonable quantity
But the Y looks like a donkey.... that's the problem. Wouldn't be seen dead in that douche mobile. No offense, not your fault
The measurement method is different. Tesla measures to the roof, because they initially didn’t provide a boot cover, Seat to the top of the boot cover. In reality they would be far more similar than the numbers suggest.
@@disarchitected I assumed it was because the boot is bigger, has under boot storage and a large frunk. I also do have a boot cover but it may be the measurement was without

Tesla Model Y has a frunk, so compared to a VW ID4, you can fit one in extra banana box there and an extra box in the back.
Tesla Model Y = 9+1 (seats up) & 26 (seats folded)
VW ID 4 = 9 (seats up) & 25 (seats folded)
Very similar capacities, not double at all.
@@disarchitected good shout! Must just be how they measure the boot that seems so far off. I reckon if they were smaller boxes the Y would fit quite a few more as a lot of the storage isn’t straight but looks like a good test!

Great-looking vehicle. Typo on the base model drivetrain description, though - like all the VWAG single-motor cars based on this platform, it's RWD, not FWD.
I dont know who id going to spend 55K on a Cupra ... 😮 They have over engineered this which has ramped up the price..

who are these people who said in focus groups that they want a 55k Seat? It looks great but at 55k makes no sense.
It doesn matter if its SEAT, what matters is the performance and the quality. Spanish car industry fabricated the best sport-luxury cars in the world for decades. (HIspano- Suiza)

Thank goodness the UK government is backtracking rapidly on the 2030 deadline for the end of ICE car production which means, at my age, I wont have to spend £1000s more for an EV and all the hassle that comes with it. Crazy price for this Cupra.

Liking Cupra’s new line up, they should have done this with the SEAT brand in the first place. The current SEAT range doesn’t have a USP in the VWAG portfolio, its not clear what it offers? Slightly better handling than the equivalent VW with poorer material finish and refinement for a cheaper price? Not sure a lot of people are clamouring for that.
SEAT is so old and slow to update that they have become the budget brand under Skoda. I understand why they are phasing it out over the next 10 years in favour of Cupra

Good luck selling at that price. 10k more than an entry level Model Y is insane.
Seats usually come with cheap leases and financing, so I wouldn’t look at the headline figures. Bet on a monthly payment basis, it will be very competitive with the Y.

The Chinese are coming. Give it a rest. They are companies like any other. MG overcharge for their vehicles as well. BYD are also expensive for what they are.

Why did nobody tell me that charging up your car from a public charger is so complicated? Every charger network (and there’s dozens of them) requires registration, setting up an account (with loads and loads of your personal details) on a smart phone app, and most of them demand you prepay as well. Why can’t I just rock up and tap a debit card, like I did at a petrol station? What a faff!!,
Every network?? Gridserve and Instavolt are contactless and more are on the way

The price of this car, along with so many EVs is risible, who are they trying to kid? Why would I buy something like this for £55K when I can get a Tesla for £10K, or a Chinese equivalent that is £15K less and has software which works.
So, is it better than a Tesla Model Y?
While we all know that SEATs are cheaper made VWs, that looks a million times better than the ugly 1970s Model Y design

Yet another vehicle that is overloaded with features and over wrought styling features. When will we be able to buy sensible down to earth cars that are not equivalent to a computer game. The Chinese are far better at creating affordable cars and they will wipe the floor with the European brands and the oh so late to the party Japanese. Value for money is the watchword and this is so wide of the mark it is laughable.

Another boring electric car. Ive had 3 electric cars now over 2,5 years and I cant develop feelings for them like I have for my previous cars electric cars have no soul. Im goin back to combustion🎉
OK, dumbness galore. The Tavascan is up against the Enyaq Coupe, the Audio Q4 and the C40. The Enyaq and the Audi are the same car, basically, as the ID.5 and the Tavascan. All fous are based on VWs MEB and are, in fact, VWs.
