Hi, Thomas I have to admit the Americans new Cupra Formentor! And I can't wait for the upcoming 2025 test drive the new Cupra Formentor I can't wait to see!

Very nice facelift especially the steering wheel & screen updates & I'm more interested in the Cupra Leon so fingers crossed this will be the next video from your good self!!👌🏻👍🏻😊
Helpful video. In reality, the face-lift seems fairly minimal. Granted the front is changed, but side profile and interior looks much the same. Welcome upgrade on PHEV engine, battery & charging, though probably not quite far enough. Tweaks, rather than major changes.
Well facelifts generally only change "plastic parts", headlights, taillights, front bumper, rear bumper. That's the whole point. Changing the side would be much more expensive. As far as facelifts go I'd say this is middle grounds since the entire front is changed. Audi for examples has actual minimal facelifts, just look at the 2019 A6 and 2024 A6. They only changed the grille and front bumper a bit.
Yet another great review. The Sennheiser speakers on the doors also look nice. It's also great the the plug in hybrid now comes with the better 1,5 liter motor like the new VW Golf. Thomas did you ignore the horrible copper tone fake exhausts this time..? They do not seam real. Do we know when they going to release the facelifted Seat Leon? Unfortunately the Cupras coming here the north America will be all ev's so no formentors. As someone that lives in North America ( Canada ) i would love a formentor vz5.
this looks like baby URUS, I wasn't sure about the front at first but now I think it looks more modern than the previous version. I welcome that they removed the circular lights from the bumper, front looks cleaner
I don’t hate the new design but they made something’s worse like the cubbies left and right of the gear selector being much smaller (current right one is the perfect size for a 6.1 inch screen iphone - I don’t have the wireless charger, which at least in this version is cooled). Also they lost the levers to lower the rear seats for some reason. The rear doors still look really cheap, they could have at least added ambient lighting…
I have a troc and a formentor but formentor is much larger! longer and wider inside? It definitely dont feel like its from the same platform formentor drives more like a sportshatchback wile troc drives more like a sportssuv
Cupra is a sub brand to Seat. Originally hot Seat's came with a Cupra badge ( you also had FR as well which were not as quick ). VW decided to have Cupra go it alone. A little like Toyota and Lexus but Cupra is sold as a young, sporty brand rather than luxury. Apparently it's gone well enough that the VW group are looking to keep Cupra but potentially drop Seat completely in the not too distant future. You could still purchase FR model Seat's but they are the equivalent of N Line at Hyundai ( bodywork without the engineering to back it up ).
@@krane15 I've already checked, and the most basic, you can get it with a manual transmission. But don't worry, in other regions, VW still makes 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions, so when the electrification trend passes, we have transmissions to sell them.
Since when? T roc is a B segment car, same as T cross or Taigo, but slightly bigger and Formentor is a C segment. Seat Arona is a B segment in Seat (all this by JATO Dynamic standards, so its official). Whole vw group sits on similar platform, cant be positioning cars by that standars
It will be a good purchasing option as in China and also in Europe, but it will be left out in the American markets. It will be necessary to put it there.
There are latches in the boot on the sides to drop the seats without reaching for the seats over the boot. Just little detail. As for FL I like the interior changes and more power for hybrid but design wise the front is terrible and those lights are even worse than whole front ....
It never fails. Every time I think I like a car from the VW Group you get to the infotainment and those annoying sliders begin to turn me away. Can't they just put bottoms and a physical slider. If they only designed it with a face plate I could replace it with something from the aftermarket similar to a light switch. Pity since Cupra's animation is one of the best I've seen yet. Although I still think the screen is mounted too high. Very nicely designed steering when with real buttons. Tasteful if not head turning. Wish there were a powered option. On the negative side, I really can't express how much I hate seat with integrated headrests. Its such a pretentious addition to a family SUV. Even a sporty one. Go for an 8 hour cross-country trip and you will long for more adjustments. The hard touch injection molded plastic in the rear is a let down. That's always the instant give away to an economy product. As far as exterior design goes, the Korean still have the advantage with their under spoiler wiper design, and rear view mirror camera. The wheels aren't ugly (like all EVs except Tesla), but they are of neutral styling. The package shelf that can't be stored away in the car is just a poor design. There's sufficient knee room in the rear -- even for long-legged Thomas -- but the seat cushion are short and low. Of course its a compact and a higher seat would eat into the head room. Exterior lighting, on the other hand, is tasteful without being gaudy or ostentatious (Do the rear window go all the way down?) I love the super-formed sheet metal and the hip creases on the rare finder. A very masculine design.
2:26 it cant be more different. front turn signals - triangles with on-off, rear turn signals - line with cascading.... terrible. why the hell are not triangles in the rear/ or line in the front as well....?
Had a SUV/crossover for 7years. Went for Leon after it, and would not change back for SUV. Lower center gravity, smaller/cheaper tyres, less noise, lower consumption especially with doing a lot of kilometers. How many times did i need SUV to climb somewhere in 7years? 3 times.

Forgot 4k, full screen, full-length? :D
Unfortunately the Cupras coming here the north America will be all ev's so no formentors. As someone that lives in North America ( Canada ) i would love a formentor vz5.
now starts at 39k euros, which is quite a lot more expensive....
so 1.5 tsi manual, 39k?
Top review 🎉🎉
right on re: (actually) opening sunroof. and the triforce. and VW bringing this Stateside.
this looks like baby URUS, I wasn't sure about the front at first but now I think it looks more modern than the previous version. I welcome that they removed the circular lights from the bumper, front looks cleaner
VZ5 in this one would be really nice car
What a dramatic car!
really impressive !
Such an awesome car.
Doesn’t look like they have fixed the cup holders either, that don’t really hold any size of cup.
@@michael_houghton noticed that as well. And still no cover over them like Skoda has, makes the console much cleaner looking imo
What a sharp looking car, I hadn't seen Cupra's in the flesh until very recently, it'd be amazing to get some of their designs in North America!
Too bad they don't import to North America. Although its still a size small for me.
CUPRA is launching in the US later this year/early next year!
Cupra is killing with their design lately all their cars are much better looking than VW
I have a troc and a formentor but formentor is much larger! longer and wider inside? It definitely dont feel like its from the same platform formentor drives more like a sportshatchback wile troc drives more like a sportssuv
"TROC's evil twin" sounds like a mirror universe episode of Star Trek.
I would buy this in the VZ5 spec in a heartbeat, not really interested in the 2 liter TSI versions, one can only hope...
Where does Seat fit in or they just change their name to Cupra?
Cupra is a sub brand to Seat. Originally hot Seat's came with a Cupra badge ( you also had FR as well which were not as quick ). VW decided to have Cupra go it alone. A little like Toyota and Lexus but Cupra is sold as a young, sporty brand rather than luxury. Apparently it's gone well enough that the VW group are looking to keep Cupra but potentially drop Seat completely in the not too distant future. You could still purchase FR model Seat's but they are the equivalent of N Line at Hyundai ( bodywork without the engineering to back it up ).
nice looking car, but I'm not going back to ICE cars, EV's have completely convinced me!
In which version is the manual transmission offered?
Probably the entry level 1.5tsi like in the 8.5 golf
As far as VW is concerned, the manual is dead, and its not coming back.
@@krane15 I've already checked, and the most basic, you can get it with a manual transmission. But don't worry, in other regions, VW still makes 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions, so when the electrification trend passes, we have transmissions to sell them.
Is the steering wheel animal free?
Great design overall , much better than VW and Skoda. The screen tablet ruins it all. C'mon Cupra when you'll start integrating the sceens ?
Do they have this in all electric model?
no
Tavascan
Since when? T roc is a B segment car, same as T cross or Taigo, but slightly bigger and Formentor is a C segment. Seat Arona is a B segment in Seat (all this by JATO Dynamic standards, so its official). Whole vw group sits on similar platform, cant be positioning cars by that standars
I have 2023 model but this is wild I am gonna sell and buy this one
thank god no high gloss black plastics in the interior!
Hope Audi will see that comment
Hope Audi see that comment
I think they nailed it, and so did you with your review. :)
Do they offer the new DCC system of the corporation or is it the older, one-valve system?
Older
Cupra have ruined the look of the front , the front end of the current model looks better in my opinion , but the rest of the car looks great.
Can I know the price in US dollars?!
Hm not there is nothing in the boot to fold the seats? Where would that be?
Please use a laser for length measurement of the luggage space. You will thank me 😂
It looks nice from all angles 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
900hp Lotus Eletre R review this please
2:26 it cant be more different. front turn signals - triangles with on-off, rear turn signals - line with cascading.... terrible. why the hell are not triangles in the rear/ or line in the front as well....?
every single formentor i saw was being driven by a 50/60 year old in nardo grey................. this will suit them well too
Skoda controls on the doors
But where is leon? Cant wait for the video.
Why would anyone buy a Leon when you can get a Formentor?
@@N1ckZ cause Leon is much fun. I'm also looking for Leon and not Formentor.
@@N1ckZ lower center of gravity and sportier look, I guess. They're also much much better handling than formentor (besides VZ5) and a bit cheaper.
Had a SUV/crossover for 7years. Went for Leon after it, and would not change back for SUV. Lower center gravity, smaller/cheaper tyres, less noise, lower consumption especially with doing a lot of kilometers. How many times did i need SUV to climb somewhere in 7years? 3 times.
Made a German video on the Leon: ua-cam.com/video/eutwp2LKkbo/v-deo.htmlsi=iUk0ibenHHJ80wEw
kaputa bir amortisör koyamamışlar mı? 😅
Front end design a massive downer compared to previous model.
Fake exhausts?
Omg that Formenthoar pronun iation!!
It's pronounced foR-men-toRR
Formenthoar ;)) i am dying of laughter
Waited for the fake exhaust police… but was disappointed 😔
They do look shit though tbh
Too bad it is not electric, I like the Cupra design. Would like to see a Cupra Version of id.4 or so
Tavasacan is the id5
