  • True sciatica sucks. There is no denying it. But there are also a lot of soft tissue dysfunctions that can disguise themselves as sciatica. More often than not, this is the case. What are they? Where do they hide? Good question.

Hi Allison.... I hope all is well. I want you to know that I appreciate your videos, knowledge and techniques you teach. I definitely benefit from them greatly. With regards to CE classes, etc., I would love to find out more regarding orthopedic massage (assessment/testing and protocols for different common soft tissue dysfunction) as well as massage for things like hospice care, etc.
Thank you again for all your effort with providing a platform for practitioners, students and general public to benefit from! Your work is amazing! May you have blessings in all you do! :)

Yes! online CEUS. The classes or series I would be interested in include: Functional Anatomy, Neuromuscular Facilitation, Active Engagement Techniques, myofascial release, draping for some of these techniques to incorporate them into a relaxation massage when client may not be clothed. Also, you should come back and visit Colorado and do them in person sometime, such as at the AMTA or AMBP conferences. :)

Great video. I’d love for you to work on my sciatic nerve. I can remember when I finally figured out what the problem was. That same year I went to The Body Human exhibit and looked for the model with all the nerves exposed. When I saw the size of it I was not surprised. It looked like a huge cable cord. No wonder it’s so hard to wrestle into submission.

You can get a correct diagnosis first. You may not have sciatica. But if you do, you can do some self massage as well. Use a a tennis ball or racquetball. You can lie down on your back. Place the ball right under the hip. Gently move around your hip area. You will feel pressure, pain, and/or soreness. Try this several times until you feel it releasing. Then move down the leg into the hamstrings, calf, then the bottom of the foot.

Excellent ( talk in a series about chronic pain).. exactly what i need, is this type of massage. QQQ QUESTION : I HAVE CHRONIC HIP BURSITIS (5years) IN THE LEFT HIP JOINT. The pain is continious throbbing if i do too much. Also associated with the feeling of Sciatica nerve pain down through to the foot which limits physical activity. I use the elastic band to stretch to strenghten. I wish this massage would be the cure the cause & effect on-going pain. I use a tennis ball also
