  • To me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
South India breakfast is my all time comfort food as it belong to the roots. And this time its Medu Vada. I dont usually prepare it everytime as its a fried dish just like puris . But once in a while these are absolutely treats to your taste buds. Homemade is always divine that you dont get elsewhere as it has a touch of love involved in the preparation.

In traditional way no use of onion...due to onion mixture become watery....
and after grinding urad dal....whisk the mixture very well...then vada will become fluffy...otherwise it becomes solid...not fluffy

Super good tea. You can try hibiscus with honey, dried rose petals, moringa leaves dried. Also a small tip, you should not soak the urad dhall overnight, it may ferment and give you a bitter and sour taste , 1 to 2 hours in the fridge is more than enough. Keep up with your good work.

Sham for meduvada ..don't add even little bit of water because urad dal release water itself ... Don't put big onion because it release water ... Add shallots and don't grind peppercorns we must add whole peppercorns .. And no too much of coriander because it release water ...
Your batter is to be like a butter for medu Vada .,.. Don't add rice flour ... Pure urad dal Vada is really delicious ...
    Love you sham

Chechi....awesome video and I have a small suggestion in this onion tomato chutney you can use dry red chilli instead of green chilli and red chilli powder it will be more tasty. Next time you can try it in this way😍

Hai.. im a regular viewer of ur videos and like the most.. this is m 1st comment on ur vada receipt.. during soaking 2 to 3 spoon of rice added with dal...using mini grinder instead of mixer is better option of skipping water during grinding, then get a thicker batter... and very important one is to beat the batter min of 10 min after grinding and rest for 30 min and then beat for a couple of times... this makes vada fluffy and crispy..

Recently I was watching panacota recipe the original Italian one where the person dosen't use gelatin ,instead uses egg , fresh cream, milk n sugar n bakes it. Since I do not have a oven , I would like to know whether it can be steamed in a presure cooker , I have a doubt bcoz I have never steamed any recipe using fresh cream so kindly let me know.

Hi Shamsheera, you should try orange zest/ pieces and mint together! It's beautiful.. especially when the oranges are very sour and inedible otherwise.. I use them to make Orange tea! My husband prefers the orange tea coupled with a small cinnamon piece along/or with Mint leaves. Do try and let me know..

Ur videos r always loaded with positive vibes dear. Very good breakfast menu. Just a small suggestion dear. U can soak urad Daal for two -three hrs. That timing is enough. If u soak overnight the mobile consumption will be more. So two to three hrs is enough. Also after grinding beat the batter and when it comes puffy then add the ingredients and fry the vada. Just a small suggestion dear. Love u sister. Happy Diwali dear.
