The police are very limited in their ability to interpret the situation on behalf of the shooter. 9 times out of 10 the shooter gets arrested, then it goes to court. the shooter pleas self-defense and the prosecution trys to prove it was murder (or whatever). Once it is in court, all the facts come out. It is up to the judge or jurry to decide who is right and wrong. The police just secure the area and arrest anyone directly involved.

"in States that have Squatters Rights, the Property Owners Have No Rights." Yeah, that's not how "squatters rights" work. What you're thinking of as "squatters rights" is actually tenants' rights, you know, those pesky laws that prevent landlords form just showing up in the middle of the day while you're at work and locking you out of the house thus violating the lease. Squatters make fake leases to try and steal the property and in so doing abuse those laws that protect tenants from bad landlords. Squatters' rights on the other hand only apply to occupying abandoned property, under squatters' rights laws, they have to occupy the property for a specific amount of time ranging from a few years to over a decade depending on the state without the rightful owner making any attempt at getting them out of the property and they have to make some kind of improvement to the abandoned property during that time. Real Squatters' Rights laws are there to prevent someone from just abandoning their property and it becoming a dilapidated overgrown eye sore.

Thank you so much!
So saying “I’ll cooperate as soon as I have consulted with my lawyer” literally equals murder?
Knowing how some of these departments operate, I might not talk to police either without a very good lawyer present.
And what would you talk about then ?
The man was released with no charges filed.
The smartest thing he could do was not immediately provide a statement to the police other than to say he was being robbed and in fear for his life. Then, request medical treatment and call an attorney.
There is no legal gun registration.
5th amendment violation...that is what this screams to me & seems like grounds to sue the fuck out of the cop's.
Good luck in California! That communist Soros has bought, paid for so many DAs and judges, it would be difficult. Just the way he wants it 😢! Sick Evil communist!
He’ll do 20 years. The criminals will get probation.
Despite popular "say nothing to police", I would have been better to claim being a victim and then shutting up.
Is it just me or are all old people really catching hell.
Thanks DOLL
Since When Does a Robber Have More RIGHTS - Then the Person They are Trying to Rob...Asking for a Friend ? Seriously...
It's a Democrat thing

In the past, the law did not protect you while you were committing a crime. Bank robbers shot on scene had no standing for a lawsuit.
4:05 😁 I have posted that before, my favorite, the plot thickens.
Thanks
He forgot the other two S's: Shovel, Shut Up.
The biggest question in this case is when does the original owner of the Python get his gun back?
Watch the movie "Felon".
It's a common cali story!
Cali is disgusting!
Let Grandpa go
This kind of scenario is actually quite common. One guy shoots another and so the guy who did the shooting gets arrested.
Love ya Liberty Doll.
Liberty Doll: Brandon Langley and you are my first go-tos for timely 2A 411. I admit that Brandon comes first, mainly due to his frequency. That said, you are hilariously, enchantingly snarky, along w. much easier on the eyes (if someone old enough to be your grandparent may respectfully observe). Keep up the good work! Thx expecially for info on Attorneys on Retainer. From this post, I just learned that your sponsor is now available in all 50 states. That puts AOT on my to-do list to investigate and--possibly--subscribe.
People don't need too be in you home , shed ,dog house, in order for the home owner to protect their life...😮
He has the RIGHT to REMAIN SILENT!
but in States that have Squatters Rights, the Property Owners Have No Rights.
"in States that have Squatters Rights, the Property Owners Have No Rights."
Yeah, that's not how "squatters rights" work.

Last month, the news team at ABC7 New York's Eyewitness News were filming when she entered the home, confronted the squatters and was eventually arrested by the police for trying to keep them out by getting the locks changed.

Not talking to the police just makes you feel free for a little longer.
I currently reside in Eureka, California and it does not surprise me. This area is very Red, but also the only place that I've lived in the last 25 years where I have to feel like I need a weapon near me when I sleep.
I retired from the military in 2022; was stationed here in 2018. My car was broken into within 12 hours.
Thank you for not shilling USCCA. A legal retainer means you're paying for a lawyer to work for you. Self-defense insurance means you are paying for a team of lawyers to work for the insurance company, a business that is notorious for doing absolutely everything in their power to avoid providing you with the service you paid for.
Thanks for the heads up on the castlie law.
These police and prosecutor should be ashamed of themselves. You could bet if it was the other way around the theft would be given every edge. He was abused, he had a hard life, he was desperate' he needs help. These are all the Bull you hear about dirtbags!!!
Arguments of defense attorney ?
Liberty Doll, how I wish that we could actually make Orwell fiction, however, much to our chagrin, demcoms are in charge, and we are, for now, NOT allowed to give them a nice, inexpensive, dirt nap. You are wonderful and I'm glad I subbed.
