I can't wait to get my hands on it and try some new games! If you need something now, get a 2070 Super. If you can wait do that. I suspect that the new 30-series mobile will be really good. But I don't think any will be out until 2021.

Actually the G-series comes with liquid metal as there default paste from ASUS. Which is pretty awesome! I was hitting around 85C on GPU and 90C on CPU.
That's why they use a copper cooling system. But here's what weirdly poked Intel in their 10 series processors is very strange, the temperature jumps even in the best laptops with good cooling
Just bought this same configuration! Would love to see a Rust benchmark for that game. Its so hard to find any benchmarks for Rust considering it's a fairly niche game.
@@geriesdaou822 Only if you need battery life, the 300hz panel doesn't allow the use of the integrated GPU. So battery life suffers. Only around 90 minutes with light tasks.
Hello, could you confirm the weight on this unit? Dell has the spec on this computer as 5.5 lbs but I saw a video review of this laptop were it was placed on a weighing scale and it showed 6.5 lbs. That's a big difference from what Dell says the weight is.
Can we see a size comparison between M15 and this one? I know M17 is bigger but having both next to each other or one on top of another can give us an idea about how massive it is.

I would say they are on par, both were very sturdy as you would expect in this category. However Dell does have a better coating on the unit that keeps fingerprints away.
The only difference is when you go for the rtx 2080 Super. M15 has a 2080S max q at 90 watts and M17 have full power 2080S at 150 watts. They are exactly the same the m17 has very slightly better cooling due to its size.
Hi Calvin, (It's Calvin right?, if it's not your name I'm sorry for my confussion) Can you make a comparission video between Alienware m15 r3 and Asus zephryus G14. If you want you can use m17 too but the seize difference wouldn't make it a fair comparisson.

The audio is coming along great! I feel like a 17" would be a great option if you don't move around a lot and just want a reasonably portable gaming unit. Definitely not for lap use!
I just got mine and it’s the same setup as yours. Only thing is when I’m playing a game on ultra or high settings my cpu is running up in the 90s Celsius. I e engage a cooling pad. Is that normal temps???
I am still testing on my side, I'll have the review up in a couple more days. That said yes it does get up there out of the box. Undervolting can really help here, I saw 15C lower temps.
Just don't know why every buddy wants to care about one finger open screen where you are buying fast laptop for gaming, if you know what to buy did your time what you like on it then don't complain about your product.

My Alienware m15 r3 lasts 3 hours in the lowest battery consumption setting when unplugged. Is this normal? It is only maximum around 2 months old
This was my experience as well. You are actually getting a bit more than me. I was 2.5hrs I believe.

No it does not you need to buy it. The home edition is reasonable.

I think its safe to assume that it is stock paste, seeing as he just unboxed it

Certainly, the lowest weight this model can come in at is 5.5lbs, max weight is 6.6lbs depending on the configuration.

Sorry already sent the m15 back. It is quite a big heavier. Still think the m15 is the sweet spot for size.

You would need to send it back to them for replacement. This is a flaw with the design unfortunately.

How complicated is it to change the battery?
It is pretty simply, usually few screws and cable.
how about dissipation? I have one but when I doing the initial setting it had overheating with fan noise harsh voice problem. really suck.
Thermals on my unit were really good, actually the best I have seen out of the notebooks I have tested. This has posted some of the best scores.
