Hello! I did a bit of math and simplified the calculation for the number of ATP generated by a fatty acid to 7n-6, where n=the number of carbons in the fatty acid chain. It’s worth noting that this formula is only valid for even numbered fatty acid chains. Hope this helps!

The 1st carbon is actually the one with the doubled with oxygen and attached to the S-Coa group. As such, the molecule shown is not the 16 carbon palmitoyl coa but looks like a 19 carbon acyl coa. Please make corrections.
