Unfortunately Jaguar is not offering any manual transmission for the F type anymore. If you really want a proper manual transmission version you have to find a fist generation used one overseas and import it. If I could find one with a manual I'd want the same spec.

Ahh... I still remember the day I got my brand new F-Type (back in 2017, coupe V6). It had to be towed because it leaked coolant fluid after a 200 km drive. Nice surprise afterwards: Jag (HQ, not my dealership) was aware of the issue but didn't bother to send out a recall. Instead they only posted a service bulletin on how to fix it. Aside from that I've had almost no issues with it. Three years later, 80k kilometers driven. Still enjoying every drive in it.
Wow I’m surprised that was your only issue. Have had a lot of JLR vehicles and they have had a lot of issues. Full sized Range Rover is now on its 4th complete coolant tank replacement

I actually laughed out loud
Bear in mind that in the UK market, the F-type will still attract a lot of buyers, not just for patriotic reasons, but because a Porsche 911 with the same power output will cost at least £40,000 more. The power output puts the F-type in Porsche 911 Turbo territory here in the UK, and in this market, the 911 Turbo is close to a whopping £160,000 (Just checked this on the official Porsche UK website - £155,970 for the hardtop Turbo S). If you buy the Turbo S Cabriolet, that's £165,127. Paying £40K to £50K less for a convertible that delivers 99% of the performance of a Turbo S Cabriolet is going to sway a lot of buyers here.
Plus, given what I've repeatedly said about insurance for sports cars being utterly penal here in the UK, the F-type suffers a little less from this - turn up at a UK insurance dealer with a 911 Turbo S and your premiums look like those for a warship. The F-type won't be cheap to insure here, but the words "Porsche 911" on their own will add 30% to your premium regardless of which model you insure in the UK. Worse still, the words "Porsche 911 Turbo", will make any UK insurer familiar with the "Widowmaker" nature of the 1980s Porsche 911 Turbo clench involuntarily, and even though modern 911 Turbos have the "Widowmaker" parts of the envelope tamed, those memories still influence a lot of insurers here.
Speaking of insurance, there exist specialist Jaguar insurance options here in the UK, which will help to take the sting out of the premiums, and if you're an over-45 driver with an intact no claims, there's big savings to be had if you explore those options. On the other hand, 17 years olds fresh from passing their driving test need not bother unless they have VERY rich daddies.
Here in the UK, the biggest dent in Jaguar sales will come from BMW and Mercedes models, rather than the 911, because there are some *relatively* affordable competitors from those marques in the UK market, whilst the 911 is pretty much a banker's car in this market. Furthermore, those with the money for a 911 Turbo here, but want to stroke their badge snobbery itch, will swallow the bitter taste of moving up to a Bentley, with the colossal costs involved therein.
EDIT: just for fun I visited the Jaguar website, and £111K gets me this:
buildyour.jaguar.co.uk/jag2/r/summary/_/en_gb/f-type_k21/481j3/a-50p-575-aawd_a-cecvbs_sr1/a-020bk-020jb_a-svo7_n-011ae_n-017dl_n-017wb_n-031jt_n-032gj-cvsr_n-086mb?roofUp=true
That's an F-type with £8K of options. By the time I'd finished adding options to a 911, I'd be nudging £180K.
Seems like the F Type shares some of the spirit of the E type.

Not unpopular. The previous F Type looks waaaay better.

Way better then its more generic now.. But ala modern.. Trend.. Now
Absolutely agree...
Give it a year or two. The previous headlights were dated looking in 2013. I have heard that same line every time the two American Pony Cars update. "The previous Mustang was way nicer"...etc. I was also at the intro of the F-Type, where all the E-type owners, old men all, were all claiming "Thats so boooring looking" Granted it's no E-type. You can't BUILD E-types today with regulations. But the F-type, up close and personal is anything but boring.

It comes attached from the factory. Bad news, it's there. Good news, no holes drilled into the bumper. Good news, it can be removed. Bad news, requires a lot of labor removing the bumper to remove the bracket.
It's a good news/bad news situation.

Always thought it's weird that the brand behind the XJ220, D-type, XKSS, E-type, XJS, XK120, XJ, Mark II, I-Pace, first-gen XF, somehow doesn't have value outside the UK.
Jaguar's a much more interesting company and desirable brand than any of the Germans as far as I'm concerned, but sales figures suggest I'm in a minority there.
Kind of wonder if it might be a similar story to Lamborghini before the late 2000s: underappreciated but storied company awaiting a modern renaissance to make people remember how compelling the brand and back catalogue are. But you know... Jaguar doesn't make any bad cars, the F-type is fantastic (borderline supercar in R spec), the I-Pace effectively invented a niche. A decade ago the XF and XJ completely redefined interior design and driving dynamics in their respective segments. How much more do they have to do?
Well said. I’ve always favored the underdog, so it doesn’t bother me much. I’m in a ‘16 R convertible, and these cars are an absolute pleasure to drive. The owners groups on Facebook are filled with tons of enthusiasts that adore their cars, and any one of them will tell you that driving an F-Type will get you TONS of attention from onlookers (very surprised he have the cool factor a 6). I find it curious that he said the F-Type handles better than the 911, and yet scored the 911 higher in handling. I personally feel Jags don’t get the respect they deserve.

Do the door handles close automatically when you drive away? Isn’t that annoying if they don’t auto close. You would have to put them back yourself.
When you shift to Drive, and the doors lock automatically, then the handles go in... or you can do it manually by hitting the door lock button on either the door or the key fob.
The doors auto-lock at 15kph by default (configurable). So the handles close automatically.

I want that Lamborghini Centenario. But the 765LT will still be fun.

For the love of your most valuable car, shorten your introduction. The actual review start @3:08
I love how extra long Doug made the exhaust clip
Think he's planning his future?
Not with that dougscore
Look at the comment above mine dude
You don't have to beg moonhat, I'll respond
"last thing I want to discuss about the f-type, it's pretty subtle out here" Proceeds to slam the trunk. Nothing subtle about that lol.
Doug probably damaged something with that trunk slam...omg. It was *HARD*
Your over-the-top oral deliver drives me mad. But I play the "quirkie" shot game, and after taking a shot after every time you say some form of the word "quirk", I'm well sedated and can almost tolerate listening.
They made the hazard lights button so satisfying because you're gonna use a lot
You sir win best comment 👍
Can we just imagine that this guy has reviewed about 25 million dollars in cars

He’s reviewed way more than 25 million dollars worth of cars. He’s reviewed a car that’s worth more than that by itself lol
Calm down, y'all. I knew someone would argue about the number. Good grief.
This is so painful to watch. In a 22 minute review he spends 3 mins driving and he talks utter nonsense constantly. The jaguar marketing team must be so embarrassed listening to him. Everything he hasn't seen before is a 'quirk" and he misses the point of every new feature, he can't even decide if it's 550 or 575bhp.
I think you're missing the point of his reviews
I can’t wait to pick one of these up for $30k in 10 years!!
Have fun spending another 30k on repairs.
Range Rover/Jag reliability really is not bad. My mom has had an evoque and it has well over 100k miles and has had no major issues
I’m with you, park it anywhere, not overly worried about where you leave it overnight ... a lot to be said about second hand cars...
BMWs do that gear lever thing too. It doesn‘t break. I‘ve kept myself busy with that little quirk for over half an hour one time. So mesmerizing.

Yes I Doug, I truly enjoy watching tops go up and down 😌
Doug is the type of guy to wear the same beige shorts to every review

Is it just me or does the exhaust note actually sound like a roar.
They messed that up too with an automatic valvetronic exhaust. I liked the old ones better.
I'm sure however they have exhaust modes.
No, it really does!
Sounds like a HEMI
Its a Jaguar roar
it really sounds like a roar
