Sadly this doesn't work for me. The noise or chatter that I'm trying to remove isn't "learned", and when I playback the audio, it is all clearly still there.

@@MoustafaMuhammad-d3pI ended up needing a new mic. The one I was referring to above died outright a short time later. New mic has its own noise cancelling feature built-in.

3:00 how do you start playing the clip in a loop? When I hit "L", it plays the entire track, not just the bits between the in and out points. I have loop enabled.

After i do the "Learn" nothing changes, the audio is still the same thou.....
I had the same issue. Mine started working when I moved the threshold in the bottom left corner up to around -30. You might need to go even higher to like -20 until it can pick up your background noise. You'll know it's working when you turn on the "Listen to Noise Only" button in the top right and only the background noise is audible.
Definitely helpful. Does this also remove any minor echo?
I'd love that video of how to sound "great". If this doesn't remove echo, I hope that you would include that.
Didn't remove the zip bouncing noise while I was talking. Good video though, I'm sure it works for somethings and somethings it doesn't. 😄

Didn't work for me the way I expected, it actually did the inverse. The clip I'm trying to denoise has outside dialogue with very loud cicadas. Davinci eliminated the actual voice and ignored the cicadas. I trained it on a clip of audio where the cicadas were particularly egregious. Great video, just didn't do the trick for me.
EDIT: I noticed that every time I turn on noise cancelling, it applies it to the whole audio track, not just the clip I have highlighted, and I don't want that effect on the whole dialogue scene. Is there a way to apply the effect to only the clip I want?
how does one tackle background echo, from a mic. Have a on stage video and the echo being caught is distracting. Wish Fairlight was half as good as audition.

Does this remove the background sound from the individual or from the entire scene? I couldn't figure out while testing it
Doesn't work. It doesn't learn anything and keeps playing the same unchanged audio...

use the Manual/Learn tool as in the video, or record first 10-15 sec of the video without voice, then in post let it learn from that 10-15 sec of noice and then will be removed at list part ov it!

top right of window there is Meters button. hitting that made the Effects button pop up for me

When a video is recorded at home in a closed room, is it beneficial to use this method of removing "background noise"? The room is just a normal room with no special noise-dampening materials.
That depends on the recording quality itself. For example, if the mic was far from the persons voice it might introduce some echo/background noise and treating it would be better (or moving the mic closer). Generally speaking though if the environment is quiet, you shouldn’t need to do any significant sound treatment during editing, if any.
What if the background noise is what you're trying to hear
Hello! I`ve tried to do the same to remove wind sounds on my video, I do all the same as you, but I don`t see any differences with or without this effect. why can it be?

How did you drag your mixer tab up? I can't seem to drag the tab upwards.
You have to hoover your mouse over the separation line between your timeline and other panels. (In my workspace its the second/middle line above the timeline). Your mouse should then become double arrows and you can drag up or down. Hope that helps!

Super helpful, thank you thank you! I've started a new channel with just short "Italian word of the day" videos to start, and filmed a recent batch with some background noise from some nearby landscaping equipment. The Auto Speech Mode option works great for me in this case. Grazie mille!

Great tips! Also (in Studio) use the Davinci voice isolation effect at 20-40% beforehand to reduce more noise without distortion. Higher quality recordings can be set to higher isolation without distortion.

It's a little tab that should be on the top right of your screen. You have to click on it to make the panel visible

I just downloaded Davinci resolve I've been working on some nature videos of mine, and some beautiful places with a lot of background noise from the city such as highways, so you have a great description of solving background noise with the human voice but I need to isolate the sound of birds and other critters and how to eliminate the sound of the highway in the distance, any help would be greatly appreciated, and again great video

Hi, in the music section there are two separate audio files that is for left ear and right ear. Do I have to put the noise cancellation effect on both of them, or adding to just one will do the job?
