Hi I was about to install my BV using your excellent video as guidance when I came across a video tapping into the rain censor power. The only difference I see is you can't utilize the back up power module for parking. What are your thoughts, pros and cons? Thank you.

I have been wanting to do this to my M2 for a long time. I have a Garmin 45 now. I drove a car with a Blackvue installed.
I’ll need to find a different place though as I have my detector mounted on a Blendmount.

Yeah. It’s compartmentalized

Hey I actually hardwired my dash cam into my cigarette lighter in the trunk, you think that’ll work? I’ve had it for bout 2 months and my battery hadn’t had an issue yet. Lmk what you think, very curious

Negative my friend. The 12v powers down after about 20min. The car goes into sleep mode

@@ThicWhips Did you have any issues with that blowing the power cables? I saw your video on the F30 and did the same to mine but it blew the power cable to the battery pack twice. Not sure if this is a me issue or a common issue given the port doesn't power down immediately.
What if you have side airbags, do the cords have to go under airbags?
Debatable. Some people say yes some people say no. I route the wires based on convenience and I’ve never had issues with any of my cars.
@@ThicWhips one more question I was think about doing a 4 channel for side view. Do you think that's over kill?
In my opinion yes. But if you feel better about having the sides covered go for it!

Haha yeah I’ve transferred it over to new cars a few times. I use the gopro for most handheld stuff. It’s got hypersmooth and that helps a ton!
Can you see in live time what the camera is seeing from your phone??assuming it has to connect to an app but I wouldn't know tbh
