- Today I had my first round of infusion therapy for Multiple Sclerosis which is called Ocrevus. Overall I spent around 6 hours in hospital which included all the tests before hand and then the infusion which took a good few hours.
Let me know if you have any questions at all and I would love ti answer if you have any about Ocrevus or any other treatment options!
So happy for you Tom. Getting the medicine in is a huge feat! Great job. I am 1 month out from weekly Kesempta, now will be 1x a month next. I remember thinking I 'd have flu like symptoms afterward b/c it said so & I felt great the next day. No problems. I wish the same for you. I have had a lazy week exercise wise & really noticed a difference not feeling the best. Back at it next week! Sleep as you know is also key to feeling good. Thx for the update & continued wellness.
Thanks Colleen really appreciate the advice and your experience! Glad that Kesimpta is going well for you and you had no ill side effects. I will be posting a video a shortly to update on how I'm doing post first doses!
Yay! Congrats on a good first infusion and I hope your cold gets better.
Thanks! I've managed to finally shift the cold! Will be posting again soon with an update on how it all went.
Thanks for sharing. Well done on getting it done. Best wishes 🤗
Thanks! Really appreciate the kind words!
Been on ocrevus for two years. So far no complaints. I've been tolerating well so far
Nice to hear everything went well with the first dose. Strongs
Thanks Petro!
I’m glad it went well for you!! I know how nervous i was when I got my first infusion in January so an uneventful infusion is great 😊
Yes completely agree I am glad it has been uneventful so far! Was yours just as uneventful or did you have any side effects?
@@tomgarbett77 pretty uneventful. I was super tired right after and the next day but other than that all good. I’m on Rituximab which is similar to Ocrevus.
@@Mem2daunt Ahh great, glad it went well for you as well!
Good luck. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thank you! Glad you liked it. Are you on any dmt?
@@tomgarbett77 no.
Finally a month after my diagnosis I should be starting Ocrevus next week. Excited but also a bit nervous cause I’ve never been on an immunosuppressant before.
Well that's not bad as it took me about a year after diagnosis to start therapy so you're lucky! But yes I am on Ocrevus too. I too didn't really want to mess with my immune system even further, but it is necessary until better treatments are available.
Hope you're ok, I've finally had to go private for diagnosis 🤞 still got to wait until July 5th to see neurologist x
Yes that's exactly what I had to do to go private! Very frustrating but at least you'll hopefully get some answers!
Hope you are feeling good after infusion. My treatment will be decided next month I was on corticosteroids . My appointment is due next week.
Yes feeling good so far although still feel ill from my cold! What treatment do you think you’ll go on?
Haven't decided yet
Hi Tom. Are you still doing ok after the treatment?
Yes I am all good now thanks Petro! I did suffer some side effects which I will go into in an upcoming video but all good again now :)
@@tomgarbett77 awesome.looking forward to hear from you.
How are you getting on now Tom? Hope all is well. Keen to understand how it affects you by this point
Hey George, I did actually have some side effeects, which I will go into in a new video coming soon because hard to explain over text! But I am all good again now but will be sharing that experience!
@@tomgarbett77 nice! Glad to hear that you are feeling better and I look forward to the next video 👍
@@georgemckinty7805 Hey George, just thought I'd let you know I've posted the update video now!
@@tomgarbett77 already watched it lad haha was going to comment but got sidetracked so thanks for reminding me! Glad to hear that you’re doing well with minimal side effects. I’ve read that it wipes you out but I’m guessing you didn’t experience this? I’m a 27 year old fitness fanatic like yourself and haven’t experienced any fatigue yet so I’m very conscious that treatment will impact this
