Before my captain passed we used to give thanks for the fishes life let him/her down a brew and a shot give him/her thanks again before dispatching the fish yah you can say most of us in Hawaii pray to the fish God's
The best part of this Ep is that after bringing the fish on deck, you thank him!! That was awesome.. It is a tradition here in India that you thank the food, the provider, and the producer.. Our book say "Annadaathaa sukheebhava", which translates into "May my food provider be happy always"...
Absolutely love your videos. Really appreciate the cooking part. I love to cook myself and I like you putting your own twist in dishes (I'm the same way). Most catch and cooks are pretty boring, mostly because people can't cook in a creative way (which is totally fine as well). keep the good content coming and I will keep watching. Going out for Bluefin tuna tomorrow myself on the East Coast
A two piece set of tiny pieces of bluefin tuna over rice wrapped in a little bit of seaweed in Japan goes for $80. a 87 inch bluefin tuna goes for about $10-$15,000 at a cannery. Where as it is over $1 million at the blue fin Street market in Japan

You made the right shot, caught beautiful fish, Congratulations you are a very lucky fisherman. Hugs and good fishing always!👍🎣
Fantastic Video! That Blue shark was so cool. Great Catch with the Tuna. Great video work too. That tuna you dished up looked like a million bucks! You definitely can hold your own on the water and the gourmet kitchen. Thanks for another quality video.
We are so grateful to have quality bluefin so close to shore. It's nuts. I caught a few bluefin and yellowfin between catalina island and Long Beach. Blessed. 🙏🏼
You and Brook should get some cast iron cookware. It does a lot better for searing and it's the only pan for real blackening. Also the best possible cornbread. Super fun to cook with, too.
we were about 100 miles offshore, out of manasquan NJ, doing the slick for overnight chunk and one of those flying fish torpedoed and hit my buddy in the chest as he was playing the head nod game sitting on a 5 gallon bucket -- epic
Wow never thought I'd see you in my home waters I grew up here and your fishing in my backyard love it I've tried to get bluegabe and Robert here they would love it thanks for sharing I live these fish I hooked a 256 lb tuna this year it's crazy fishing right now
Sick bro, Catch of a lifetime and your crew was supercool to boot!Next time hit the toro with a torch for a second on the plate and it will leave a smokey buttery flavor!
Excellent videos both fishing and cooking. Suggest the following: 1, a video on how to read the bottom on our sonars (Gulf of Mexico) 2, a guide on where to find speficic species 3, as an expert I suggest you set an example of extendind the legal limit on all species by 2" 4, a video on hooks and knots and leaders 5, a video on identifying each species found in the gulf as some look alike (Permit vs Pompano) 6, finally, be more technical by indicating distance, orientation, and depth along with a shot of your fish finder screen Thank you,
I do enjoy watching your shows. Also your cooking. I'm an avid sushi and sushimi eater. I envié you both your able to go after expensive tuna and other fish and do delicious meals. Catching them is half the fun cooking is the other fun preparing your catch to eat and enjoy. Just a note about the heart. It came from maybe American Indians when a brave killed a buffalo he would prize the heart and take a bite out of the raw heart as a sign of taking a part of the animal into to him. He also would thank the animal for giving up it's life so that he the brave could live. I do this when I catch my fresh water trout. Hunters do this when they bag a deer. Also it shows manlyness too. Get video,!!
Chopstick “skills” 😭😭😭 haha What a dream to catch this yourself Sashimi looked great. Amazing (Sad I used to live in MDR and never knew they were there ☹️ would have loved to go! Wish I thought of it then)
Beautiful catch. Food & preparation top notch. Only thing I'll say is, it's criminal to marinate/dump sauce on O-toro or Chu-toro. Eat that as sashimi with the tiniest amount of wasabi and shoyu.

Landshark is the best👍.
Spread the pectoral fins and tact to board and freeze makes yummy bait on kite
Fried clams would be also great with that for texture.
