I actually owned this exact car for 11 months, great fun to drive and really practical. Changed it up for the 4 drive version for the extra traction and 0-60 time. Great cars.
Just bought a Leon Cupra dsg 300 four wheel drive. Came from a Golf Mk7 Gti pp dsg. Love the extra horsepower and four wheel drive
I’ve got the 4 dr , got it in October, I absolutely love it. It’s a proper animal, mine is the 7 spd dsg as it’s the only option but once you realise how to properly use it practically nothing is going to pull away from it. Even the police are using them now. Plus 40 mpg is pretty easily achievable aswell. Cool review.👍🏻
Wow, a manual Leon Cupra ST with 300 horsepower and four wheel drive! Wonderful car.
This was an epic vehicle, ridiculously fast!
@@furiousdriving, I have only ever driven the standard Leon ST with a 150 bhp 1.4 TSI engine, but that was fast enough! As a big Seat fan (as you can tell from my videos), this was a pleasure to see. Am I right in thinking that you have had at least two cars from the Seat Press Office and this is one of them?
A good, sound honest review thanks for that, You've confirmed I've made the right choice albeit mine will be the 5 door hatch (when I collect it next month) as I don't need SUV/estate space but hey it's the same car at the end of the day :-) Keep it up mate!
thanks, I think I was pretty honest about it - theres not much I dont like about it (cup holders aside, and the the 2 button thing with the infotainment, but yours might have changed by now)
Make sure you order the under seat storage bins, its almost no money but so useful, especially if you plan to drive on the continent where you need hi-vis vests in the car with you.
You will love it, they are great in any of the body styles!
I thought it was a good genuine review as some I've seen just focus on the fact it's got 300 PS so all they rant and rave about is acceleration and speed, in everyday driving conditions you simply can't use it all the time! Awesome cheers mate, I'll try and get those storage things sorted then however I don't intend on taking it abroad!! :-)
I love a manual shift as much as the next guy, but I’d have this with the DSG. Currently got a manual FR and wanting the Cupra ST next. So with you on the cup holders, drives me mad that lol.
Having had both Id stick with the manual. DSG is great if you spend a lot of time in traffic, but as soon as you're out on a clear road the difference is huge..Its an awesome car but how those cup holders got through QC I don't know!!
I have a DSG cupra and it is amazing
I had one for 6 months, its fast and efficient but I found it less fun and often in the wrong gear for what was about to happen on fun roads
@@furiousdriving Why only for 6 months ?
@@jinxed_jinxed_3443 It was a work thing with an old job
@@furiousdriving Nice, while it lasted.
How has the clutch held out on that? I'm looking at an identical 2018 black manual ST 300 tomorrow
A month ago I took delivery of the DSG version with 4drive, the 0-62 time is 4.9 seconds, the manual version is a second slower at 5.9 seconds. Just so you know the DSG box is amazing, gear changes are instant and buttery smooth, their is no way I would trade it for the manual.
Each to their own, I had the AWD DSG previously and loved the all wheel drive, handling and every other aspect of the car but HATED the DSG. Yes its quick and smooth but utterly soulless and sucked the fun out of the car - but thats not just that one, Ive yet to enjoy driving an auto from any manufacturer.
Ive tried a lot of autos and will stick with manual!
I'm getting mine delivered next week... Just can't wait!! 4drive 300bhp in Desite red...
Love that colour, brilliant choice! You are in for a treat
it's not faster because of the dsg, it's the 4drive ...
Wrong, it’s s combination of both. The AWD prevents wheel hop giving better traction off the line, and the DSG changes gears in 4 milliseconds, it’s that quick they are almost unnoticeable, if you can swap gears that quickly in a manual you are a very talented individual.
Terrible sound quality, spoils it a bit
Im working on that, new microphones coming soon
Would have this is manual over DSG, my mates wife has a Altea with DSG and it broke a couple of years ago at low miles.
Id never choose it unless I lived in a city and only drove in rush hour..but then Id walk
Good review! Please invest in better microphones 😬
Now there is the Cupra Leon to go with the Cupra Ateca&Formentor.
This is the best of them
Can we have subtitles pls
nice review, but you will not reach a 4.9 with the hand shift, but very fast still..anyway i love the car like you...mine got dsg 4wheel drive and its not black....;-)
thanks, I really like these! The auto is fraction quicker accelerating, but the manual feels faster - I had the AWD DSG and the traction was astonishing! (that was white ;-) )
The sound on this video is very poor
I thought st300 was 4 wheel drive
Its an option, but only with DSG auto, if you want manual you have to have front wheel drive
Oh. I want dsg 4 drive estate with a nice exhaust to get the pops and bangs as estates are too quiet stock
first
Dsg wins sorry.
It wins on the 1/4 mile and in a traffic jam but on a good road, nowhere near!
