My hair has grown so much with this style!! For years, I was over manipulating my hair for the “office look” which hindered my progress. This pandemic has taught me to appreciate my hair in whatever style works for me.
I'm in my 60th year of life and I have admired your patience and tenacity with your hair. It inspired me and not only you but all the young women who have shared their hair journey. To me it gives black women hope who have the most fragile hair. It has recently come to me and I believe God gave us this hair to be holy. We have to protect our hair with scarves, wigs and the like for our hair to prosper which could indicate the holiness that God sees in our fragile hair and the hope from God that we could see what He made in us. God's desire for purity-holiness from women and (and men) but giving us a headstart with our hair. I think all you young women are beautiful! I so far haven't had the patience to do a twist out. Would have done it for sure when I was young. God bless you!
I've been wearing twists but have to take them down the 7th day. I wash and condition every Sunday and by Saturday my scalp itches no matter the hair style
I have thicker twists, I re twist them weekly... I can’t leave my hair in twists for longer than then a week cause of the oil that I use it’s thick and will clot my pores.... lovely content by the way
I just took my 2 week old mini twists out I will my hair in a twist out style and wash this weekend. I love the look after i took them down but I don’t think I will get them that small again. I will have to do braids that’s easier for me.
Joi Wade Everyone is different 🤗 my hair and scalp can’t handle dryness for long periods of time, so this is only way I can protective style. The process is only a couple hours, so I don’t mind.
Joi Wade Right now it’s the Mielle Rosemary deep conditioner & Eden Bodyworks curl creme. I’ve also used the Shea Moisture Manuka honey (original) deep conditioner. My hair likes anything with BTMS or aloe.
What protective styles have you been wearing while staying in the house?!
