I wish there was a “love” reaction instead of just a “like.” When Pete is an old man he will remember these moments, and having these videos will be priceless to him. You are an amazing dad.
Wow, outstanding Juan. This brings back a bittersweet memory. I had my first flying "lesson" when I was a 5. My Uncle Larry, Captain USA, was a pilot flying Otters out of Hunter AAF. We visited before his deployment to SE Asia in 1963. He took me flying in his Cessna 150, I "flew" along the Georgia coast and followed the Savannah River. This experience set in motion events that would lead to me flying USMC fighters and 30+ years of flying Boeings across both ponds. Sadly my uncle was shot down and never returned from Vietnam. His legacy lives on through what he did. Thanks Juan, keep teaching Pete and savor every moment. Rest easy Uncle Larry.
..." Daddy, are we going a little off track?"...Wow...Well, you told him to navigate...and he did..!! I'm amazed that Pete sensed that. Another very nice video...and your music is always so well chosen to fit the setting..Kudos..!!
The "goodness" and love just radiate to fill the whole space. Thank you for sharing. The nicest thing about your interaction with your kids is that I'm sure that they will grow up to be wonderful people. You are making the world a better place. You set the standard for us all. John
Great flight, with many wonderful memorable moments for both of you! The “upside-down wedding cake” is a great analogy which helped me when first flying in and out of Fairoaks, (very) near Heathrow. And had to smile at: “American .... now we know who he works for!” Concurring with the seat cushion requirement. I think that even you will be amazed at how much Pete learns from each flight.
So, 6 years on (now end January 2024) and Pete is 12ish. I wonder if his love of flying continues - and if his goal is to become a pilot. A lovely video - one of the best I've every watched on the whole of UA-cam. Thanks a lot.
I just found this video which has obviously been up a while. So great watching you teach Pete to fly. My dad learned to fly in a Luscombe. I remember him teaching me the same way when I was about that age. I became his auto pilot following the VOR needle. I got in precious little time flying with my son when he was little as finances just didn’t allow in those days. Now I’m 65 and have a five-year-old grandson and a seven year old granddaughter. I am finishing up a Zenith Zodiac 601 HDS and plan to move it up to Minnesota where the kids live from here in Florida within the next few years. I can’t wait to teach the grandkids to fly. When the day comes I’ll send you a picture!
29:15 I thought you were just demonstrating a carrier landing. Although, BLAMO was a great description. Great vid. All the Dads and Grandpas are envious. Pete's sharp. When he thought for a minute and said "the gear is always down". I loved. it.
Juan: BEST vid I’ve seen in years! Pete’s a very blessed kid, and you’re a very blessed Dad, but it’s clear you both know that. You’ll begin to understand the concept of “infinite” as you realize how blessed you are with Pete when he’s about 25.
Such a beautiful Video mate, makes me wish I took my boys flying when they were younger. You have inspired me to take my boys to the skies in 2023 ❤️ Safe travels guys ✈️
I don’t understand the thumbs down on this video . This young man is having a blast and learning a skill keep it up young man millions watching you grow
Juan, that was the best video I have seen from your channel thus far! Special father-son time doing something you love to do, fly! It reminded me of when I was a young lad like Pete flying with my father in a Chipmunk trainer the RCAF used in the 1960s. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to be a pilot like Dad because of my eyesight and hearing. But my youngest son thinks he might want to! He is 12 and is in his first year of Air Cadets. This fall he had his first glider flight! I think he may be hooked like I was, well, still am I LOL. Thanks again for this heartwarming trip down memory lane! Best Wishes for the New Year! Doug Tarbet Penticton, British Columbia
Probably one of the best family videos on the Internet. Remember nearly 65 years ago when my dad took me for my first ride in a Fairchild PT26. Remember it like it was yesterday.
The pic of Sears Point got me pretty nostalgic. You were likely right over Skaggs Island. I was stationed there in the early 80's. Great duty station, now long gone.
I've said before Juan - you are blessed. Pete will remember this in years to come! Reminds me of the days long ago when my kids were little. Super aerial stills... the magnitude of some fires is just incredible - so many folks lost their homes too. Great following the flight.. super view of Golden Gate. Enjoyed that thank you Juan.
WOW!! Pete turned the Luscombe into a stunt plane, then dad does a WHAMO landing!!! Very cool sir, loved it!! Happy New Year to everyone on here from Scotland!!
I would like to add my 2 cents to how great it was that you spent that time with your son. My dad took me to a lot of places and did a lot of things that I remember and vaguely remember but the best part was I was with him and mom. I took my sons to as many places as I could. The oldest wound up being the engineer on the same tourist train I was engineer on and the manager thought he was me one day. Your younguns will remember these things as and after they grow up. Keep it up. Giving your time is so much better than things.
These with your kid warms my heart - takes me back to when my boy was riding on the tank in our front yard popping wheelies and working on our bikes,,, He's 42 now and carrying on with his 2 kids, heartwarming indeed Juan!!
A father lovingly spending time with his son, we should all be so fortunate. It's critical to Pete's development and sense of self as he grows up. Your videos, how you show up in the world, pretty extraordinary, keep up the good work.
Awesome stuff, building great memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing great moments of father and son enjoying each other's company AND working together! ....13
Chop it and drop it! HAHAHAHA! Man, this was alot of fun! The interaction between you and your son is priceless - hope you put this footage into a lock box and keep it safe forever. :) Years from now this will be a treasure for your family. Seriously brought a tear to my eye. Watching Pete fly instantly brought me back to 1980, when my dad handed the controls over on his '79 John Deere 440 Trailfire snowmobile to me. What a thrill! A time I'll never forget! I heard you pronounce "sharks" the correct way there in the beginning (shaaaaks!). LOL! That's how we say it out here in MA. :D I heard you mention Mt. Diablo! I was there in 2001 on my '94 CBR600F2! I had spent 2 years in Phoenix attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and after I graduated, I moved in with my buddy in Livermore. He took me all over NoCal on the bikes and showed me the sights. Highway 1 was AMAZING! Had been seeing it in motorcycle magazines since I was a kid, and there I was, living the dream, lol. Seeing the Golden Gate from your perspective in the air was amazing!! Brought back all the memories of walking the bridge, the tunnel at Sausalito, and seeing Alcatraz from the beach there. The wife and I revisited Frisco back in '13 - I DROVE all the way from MA in my Silverado! Hauled my '84 Honda XL350R out to have some fun. I didn't want to deal with the TSA, nor pay for car rentals. Yeah, I know ... but they wouldn't put my XL on the plane ... :D :D
Saw your post yesterday. That little Pete is the cutest little guy. I follow your channel all the time. Went to navigator training At Mather AFB in Sacremento. Flew training missions all over N. California and up and down the coast. Used to drive up to Stateline and Reno with friends and all over your part of the world when free. After training went right to Sac flying B - 52s for the next 4 years. Watching your posts is just like being back in the AF. Was stationed at Westover for those four years with the exception of two tours to South East Asia. Keep it up, very much enjoyed
Brings back a lot of memories from my young life when my dad took me places...... I'm 70 now and I miss my dad, Thanks for posting this... this boy will set back and remember this for a long time.
Ohh. Love everything about this. Skill, parenting, kids flying, SAN Fran. All of it. I’m from NZ. Have Visited SAN Fran and makes me want to go back. Also visited Muir wood, Redding and Yosemite. You have a beautiful country and the best way to see it. Pete has the best instructor you can have. I’m as green as the Luscombe🇳🇿👍
All I can say is, "I'm glad you're teaching him". He will be a truly competent pilot by 16. Kudos my Cali friend. This is why I subscribe (Brad Griffin)
What a wonderful father-son adventure! Pete's a lucky kid and you're a lucky Dad. Hey, Pete's a good aircraft traffic spotter. An eagle eye in the sky. Wonderful day, thanks Juan for taking us along and for the GA refresher tips.
I just found this gem amongst the many other treasures on your channel. What a truly beautiful video. Marvellous Father and Son CRM. Just perfect. Thank you.
Your son is adorable, what precious memories you will make with your son. He is one lucky little boy to have a wonderful Dad. He will learn so much from you, Juan. I can see you are already proud of him and your daughter.
Ahhhh, Juan, this is great. - They should pop a 5-year-old on every flight deck for CRM training. - would test situational awareness in ways a computer never could! thanks for sharing!!
I was fortunate to grow up flying with my dad in a 1946 all aluminum Luscombe 8A, N2201K which is still in the family. Currently flying my fathers 1948 Piper PA14, N5134H. Fond memories, enjoy creating yours.
I like how you fly for work and for fun also, I can always see the adrenaline rush and pleasure you get from flying, it's great when you take us along, as always thanks!
My goodness, flying at five, the opportunitys and possibilitys your giving this child he's the luckiest kid in the world, I wish I had a dad like you, my dad just got drunk and beat use nearly every day of our lives, god bless you
We pray every day for your complete recovery for you. Lord knows we can't loose fathers like you. There are way to few like you.I can see the love you have for your son and family. Great job.
Oh man, the memories of my Dad and I flying in the old Cessna 150b come flooding back. He had me do the same things you were having Pete do. Thanks for sharing.
An enchanting and also moving piece of video. Firstly Juan, your child will NEVER be any problem in life; he is being brought up perfectly. In 1946 when I was three and a half, my father flew me and my mother in the UK in a De Havilland Dominie (RAF Dragon Rapide) and 73 years later I can still remember it. The Dragon Rapide has only one pilot seat in the nose and my mother and I sat in two of the seats behind my father. Come forward to 2006 and my partner and I were in Sausalito and we took a Cessna floatplane ride from there over the Golden Gate bridge and the city and back. A la recherche du temps perdu.
Hola Juan !! Que video tan bonito .. me and my son love it ... Your son's t-shirt is from our football team right here in Barcelona ..!!! Nice . We love this video... Im corporate pilot and my son is now 12 y old... Greetings from Spain and contact me if your 777 is going to fly to LEBL .. :) happy landings !!!
How awesome you just made a lifetime memory with Pete. He wont ever forget the flight over the bay with dad special moments. Thanks for sharing it with us makes it even more special.
I'm 40, and I want you to adopt me!! I have a great dad, but you could be my mom. She passed away, and I would swear not to barf in your Luscombe. ha ha. Great flying and so happy to see a new generation learning everything about flying from the best! Congrats on your great life! we all have so much to be thankful for!
Hi Juan and Pete. I've always loved the Luscombe Silvaire, and hope to own one my self someday. Seeing Pete's enthusiasm in aviation is such a great thing to watch. Thanks for sharing your video, and memories with us all. Blue Sky's and Fly Safe! Jason (Dunedin, New Zealand)
This is amazing and you have caught the essence of the true bond between a boy and his father. This is your best. We admire your insight and innocence. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Great Dad flying his kid around. When I was in Boy Scouts one of the Dads had an airplane and got us up for a few minutes doing touch and gos. 50 Years later I can still remember that event. Great outing. Neat video of that area. I used to live in San Jose area and worked in San Mateo part time and loved watching the airplanes come and go while driving.
Can you imagine the reaction from teachers and other pupils when Pete goes back to school after the holidays - "What did you do in the holidays, Pete?". Wow, Pete is a lucky child, and just how great it must be for you to see your son enjoying things like this. Great memories for you both. Best wishes to you and your family Juan for the coming New Year. Hope you have a lot more of fun like this. And thanks for the wonderful videos, always very interesting and a joy to watch.
This is so heart warming to watch. What an awesome memory you made here. Watching this during the covid craziness of 2020 and it makes one realize what is really important. Family. Memories. And a squeaky little voice with a million questions.
You're a lucky man, dream job, hobbies, nice family, good looking kids. Your daughter has a beautiful voice, good on you getting her into music. You going to get the whole crew on bikes to go moto-adventuring? If you're ever flying in the north Idaho area, there's a few airstrips around the priest lake/coolin area, let me know that you're planning to touchdown and ill buy you a beer n burger!
First to like (thumb up)! Lots to think about Pete. Your lesson is my lesson. Thanks Juan. Good weather for flying and speaking about the weather. Does seem unusually dry here on the North Coast.
Its very obvious!!! No one needs to encourage you to treasure these moments with your son. Truly enjoyed this movie!!! Please keep them coming Juan. Big thumbs up :-)
Reminded me of doing almost the same flight with my grandfather in the early '70s. We were in his classic ragwing Cessna 140. He wasn't doing any communication with local controllers and when we came back up the city front and into Oakland, there was a small formation of jets coming up out of the Navel Air Station that past by close enough for me to wave at one of the pilots. That was was quite the ride.. Thanks for reminding me, Pete is a lucky guy...
This is how you raise a kid to think for himself and be confident in his abilities. That kid has the most important thing in the world for a kid ............love and a sense of importance from an adult. Priceless.....
Pete makes an excellent point about "ramps'. I can't think of another place, other than airports, that level ground is called a 'ramp". Out of the mouth's of babes, right? Pete , I like your thinking. Wow, that was one sharp turn on approach, nice flying...second nature to a pro like you, but a hack "sim pilot", like me, get butterflies watching those kind of maneuvers. Great video, again , Juan, thanks.
Hey Juan , you brought up a great point on who has the a/c . I started lessons flying out of Livermore when it was a dirt strip with USN chief Mc Kay in the J 3 Cub he restored like new . Then I went back to Dallas and resumed flying with a young instructor ( Don Scott ) well we were doing a low level nap of the earth ( hedge hopping ) X-country & guess what for nearly one min , the Super Cub ( I up graded ) was flying itself at 60 kts, alt, 10 ft, . Don & I both learned something that day ( he went on to become the best instructor in a 5 state area for several years ) we did what you told Pete from then on . I flew helicopters for the Dallas P.D. for 20 yrs, & also operated a part 135 in helicopters so I also follow your accident reports , keep up the good work T. Creighton ret, still love flying low , and Miss it a lot.... P.S. Pete's going to make a great pilot .
when i was Pete's age i sailed under the Golden Gate and i was flabbergasted to be sailing on the "Real" ocean! after a bit i hid in the head! thanks for the ride. nice music.
So awesome!! You are blessed, your whole family is so blessed. What a wonderful, patient and (brave?) dad.. handing the controls of a plane to a 5 year old. God Bless you all, and thank you so much for sharing all the wonderful times of that trip. I've always wondered how the little planes can fly with so much commercial traffic in the air. I look at flight tracker sometimes and am amazed all that traffic can stay clear of each other. WOW. Thanks again, and have a wonderful safe new year!!
Wow does that bring back memories,I grew up in San Mateo in the 60s, my dad had a 172 in San Carlos! We flew out of there every weekend we could for breakfast at Knots Berry Farm! Pete did very good at 5 yrs, old! 5 more he will be taking you!
tom williams .... tom, my dad retired from the air force in 1966. My folks decided to return to the bay area. My dad wanted to continue flying in civilian aviation. He started from private pilot to his commercial rating out of San Carlos. It took him about a year, full time. He eventually flew charter out of SFO @ Butler Aviation. We lived in San Mateo ... then moved to Burlingame
Juan, thanks for the ride with you and Pete. At age 72 it brought back memories of my first airplane flight at age 14 with my uncle from Montague, CA to Happy Camp, CA in a plane very similar to your Luscombe. Now days it’s Alaska Air to Portland to visit my children and my new granddaughter. The trip starts with a ride to SFO passing by the north end of the runway at San Carlos airport. Keep up the great work, especially the news about Oroville Dam.
I’ve been watching your channel for about six months Juan, and only now stumbled across this one. Wonderful memories being made right there... can’t wait to see how Captain Pete does on future sorties! Lovely ;-)
Who needs TCAS when you have a set of five year old eyes up front.... You're a great dad Juan, the memories you're building will stay with him all his life. Well done!
I wish there was a “love” reaction instead of just a “like.” When Pete is an old man he will remember these moments, and having these videos will be priceless to him. You are an amazing dad.

When he's older, Pete will fondly remember flying lessons with his Dad. Thanks for sharing, Juan!
Love to see a reaction video of you and Pete watching that video in 10 years. :)
That was the best episode yet. All the best from Australia.
Or after Pete solos the Mighty Luscombe
..." Daddy, are we going a little off track?"...Wow...Well, you told him to navigate...and he did..!! I'm amazed that Pete sensed that. Another very nice video...and your music is always so well chosen to fit the setting..Kudos..!!
Juan, a National Resource, this is priceless. Thank you.
Lord how many young boys or girls would love to have a daddy like you? Awesome young boy Juan. Thanks for sharing.
The "goodness" and love just radiate to fill the whole space. Thank you for sharing. The nicest thing about your interaction with your kids is that I'm sure that they will grow up to be wonderful people. You are making the world a better place. You set the standard for us all.

That was really sweet! What a nice little son you got there! You are doing a real good job with him. I can clearly see that he is happy!

My neck hurts from watching that landing.
GUMPS check... U - Undercarriage: Down and Welded. :)
Actually, it's "kablamo". One of my favorite Juanisms, along with "Whack-a-Doodles". :)

Always love the when you include Pete, Julianne and Jenn in your videos! The great scenery shots are a real bonus! Thanks again Juan!
Flaps down, gear down, hook down, all down. Clear for landing. Outstanding Juan & Pete. Keep'em flyin'.
Thanks for creating such a beautiful memory for Pete, he will always have this day in the back of his memory.
Precious time for both of you, love it. Thank you for sharing your family life adventures. Chris
Pete will have the gift of knowing there was never a time he couldn’t fly. A rare gift from a rare dad.
God Bless,

I love how curious he is. Curious kids = great learners! You are an awesome and patient teacher.
Awesome video, if only all Dads would be that great 🙌
Criminy! Somebody started cuttin' onions in here!
This is just how we talked to our kids, like small adults, not talking down to them. Great video, and a wonderful adventure.

What a great dad you are Mr Brown . God bless you and your family.

We pray every day for your complete recovery for you. Lord knows we can't loose fathers like you. There are way to few like you.I can see the love you have for your son and family. Great job.
The two most precious moments for me was when he wanted to ask you a question and lovingly said, "Daddy?"
Good job Pete! Must be hard keeping 'the other pilot' on a straight path...
...from an early subscriber..just watching this timeless gem..today..in 2022..and please keep em coming Juan..Time.. after Time..
Oh man, the memories of my Dad and I flying in the old Cessna 150b come flooding back. He had me do the same things you were having Pete do. Thanks for sharing.
Great Job....Touching..Good intertainment....and great example of a good Dad!
Another gem of a video. Pete is awesome and is blessed to have a wonderful grandpa.
Juan can across this nugget last night. Just what we needed up here in Canada right now. Absolutely a thing of beauty. Thank You!
You are one hell of dad!!! Pete seems to caught on fast. Great video.
This is amazing and you have caught the essence of the true bond between a boy and his father. This is your best. We admire your insight and innocence. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Simply wonderful bond between two aviators,Pete is a lucky lad to have a dad like you,he will go far.
God bless you and Pete. I hope you get to share lots of time like that while he growing up! Great video Juan!
"I have the airplane"... yeah with both hands and both feet wrapped around the stick in his belly!! LOL!! What a great flight.
hahahahaah i was dying when i seen that
Great memory to cherish with your son for a life time. Thabks for sharing it. Congrats.
Big thumbs up :-)
what a great way to spend time with the grand kids. Pete is soaking it all in making awesome memories. I love the channel/vids.
One very lucky kid... Happy new year to you and the family
Wrapping his legs around the stick! Goodness!!! climbing for the moon. Pete needs a log book.
This video is amazing. It's like I'm flying by the golden gate with you guys. Thank you so much.
Precious moments!
You know, Juan, Some day the intro will be.....Hey, This is Pete Brown, your listening to the Blancolirio Channel!
when i was Pete's age i sailed under the Golden Gate and i was flabbergasted to be sailing on the "Real" ocean! after a bit i hid in the head! thanks for the ride. nice music.
I watched from start to finish. Now that's worthwhile viewing. Great job Juan,m as usual. Video AND parenting.
What a wonderful team. So nice to see you Pete and your daughter together. Two years ago pilot and co-pilot - wonderous times indeed.
Lovely ;-)
This is priceless...thank you Juan for sharing this adventure with your wonderful boy!
Who needs TCAS when you have a set of five year old eyes up front.... You're a great dad Juan, the memories you're building will stay with him all his life. Well done!
Great video Juan. Nice to see your boy taking it all in. regards from the UK
As a pilot and a dad, i love this so much. You can tell Juan would be a good instructor! Plus, it looks like Pete is a natural.
