Handre * honestly I think it cause the youth these days don’t really care about automobiles or auto racing. At least here in the states, they just ride a bike or catch an Uber...Young boys aren’t laying in bed at night fantasizing about getter their drivers licenses.
I'm young and live in the united states and I love racing, however, I understand where u are coming from. Some people at my school don't even know what Le Mans is and don't appreciate motorsport. I feel like it would help to have media coverage like formula one with longer highlight footage, onboard radios, and maybe a way to get to know the drivers better. I have hope for the new rules coming in 2020...
Yes please in this season i was focusing on GTE because in LMP1 was nothing interesting Porsche, Audi, Toyota... without one of them its not the same, Fuck Rebellion
@@PebelWasTaken f1 also has ers. the thing with that is everyone has it, and it makes for some very interesting strategies. DRS on the other hand just ruins battles. ofcourse it was a necessary evil but we should be moving towards finding other solutions.

It was a great battle. Epic to see on video/TV and in person. LMP1 racing is the best! Amazing racing cars to watch even solo lapping! Tire strategies and hybrid boosting and traffic make for spectacular battles.
F1 used to be like that. I stopped watching F1 around 2005 when it started to become like it is now. But watching Hakkinen and Schumacher battling for the place was phenomenal. Then Raikkonen in his prime also was something.

Why do they constantly show those lameass pit reaction shots constantly? You're watching a great battle, then all of a sudden you're looking at some guy in the pits watching a monitor! I want to watch car racing, not guys in the pits, watching car racing ! It's getting worse and worse.

In this video at 10:29 we get the absolute thrill of a guy standing there holding a ice bag on his head for about 7 seconds !!!! I mean, who wants to watch a Porsche team mate battle when we can witness 'icebag guy'? Seriously, there needs to be something done about it, more people need to let them know how boring these shots are, a petition maybe? Le Mans is becoming painful to watch due to this addiction to watching pit crews from the Directors of these broadcasts.
I saw a really funny one couple of days ago... something is happening on track, like somebody spun out or something, they cut to one of these pit guys looking down the track obv not seeing anything and he turns to check the video feed (same feed im watching) and all he sees is his own face, the look he gave the camera was great... wish I remembered what race this was.
Of course I won't be complaining if the lmh will be a competetive category but with Porsche and Audi (maybe even bmw if the rumors are true) returning it will have the best manufacturers and the greatest potential for competitive racing
@@arminarmin691 well LMH & LMDh will race TOGETHER in the Hypercar class and as of now, there is only Porsche, Audi & Acura in LMDh. LMH already has Toyota, Glickenhaus, Peugeot & Ferrari!!! Alpine is likely as well & ByKolles is also working on a car. So currently LMH leads by a long shot^^
The cars normally boost on their own coming out of corners, but you also have a button to overwrite that and boost at anytime you want (for example when you need to overtake). If you do that you have less boost available for the rest of the mal though. For some reason the #8 had a problem with the hybrid system, which meant that it was unable to press that boost overwrite button. Normal automated boost still worked though.
Its a shame that wec doesnt have porche and audi anymore, it biring watchig toyota smoking everyone one in their hybrid againts v8 cars will less downforce

well... It´s the latter. F1 cars really are significantly (especially since 2017) faster for multiple reasons: More than 100 kg lighter, more downforce, less frontal area and much more power. LMP1´s had 500hp from their combustion engine + something between 400-500 hp from their electric motors. The electric part of the drivetrain however was only used under acceleration, because the energy had to be managed efficiently around a lap and therefore, as soon as the electric motors stopped contributing the LMP1´s power was halved. F1 however, have around 1000hp for the entire lap. In 2017 the Porsche 919 was around 11 seconds slower on it´s pole lap, compare to the F1 pole in the same year. However, one year later Porsche decided to do some slight modifications and ignore the efficency rules to try and see how fast their LMP1 could really go, and it managed to go almost a second faster than the 2017 F1 pole in Spa.
@@Jesko. Before the 2022 regulations F1 cars had way more downforce than LMP1 cars but like way more. Just compare Lewis Hamilton pole lap in Spa 2020 with the Porsche 919 Evo lap on the same track in 2018, the Porsche is faster on the straights but the F1 car is clearly faster in all the turns. It has way more mechanical grip thanks to the bigger tyres and has more aerodynamic grip because of the wings and all the winglets and complex diffuser. Even the 2022 F1 cars are faster than the old LMP1s on the turns only because of the bigger tyres, is just way more mechanical grip.

Also the fact that it weighs 140kg more. Not downforce smh. Also there's no onboard for the 1.41.7 lap vid. UA-camrs are just speeding up the 1.43 lap time and comparing it. There is no footage of the 1.41.7. Lmp1 make way more downforce way more.
