      Im so confused what this type of massage is good for. I mean deep tissue massage i get, gives relief to the muscles since they work all the time but here he is just putting pressure on the foots nerves and cartiledge, whats that good for?

      What’s scares me about that tho is that it’s gonna be like adjusting the alignment on your car. You can put in the work and time to realign your wheels, but you better pray you don’t hit a pothole on the way home and get right back to square one. If I did this massage, I would probably be right back to square one in 3 days

    I know exactly what he means by these "bands of tension" and tbh, there are plenty of times when I just dig into my arm, hand or foot and massage that area. I like how he attacks where the problem is. This isn't a relaxation massage, this goes right at the problem. Probably is pretty painful to have done, but feels incredibly loose afterwards.

  • @ralfkirchhoff9305
    @ralfkirchhoff9305 5 років тому +63

    One thing I would like to add: I prefer to work deeply and slowly into a painful tissue. Quick movements are not so productive at this state. They will come later when the joint is more free and ready. This is my opinion, but as we say in Germany: The one that heals is right. There is no such thing as the one and only way.

  • @ralfkirchhoff9305
    @ralfkirchhoff9305 5 років тому +69

    This is the first time I see someone work on a patient as hard or may be even harder as I do... This may look disturbing for some - BUT there is really no other way to get the movement back into the joints. The purpose is to have it back for real by relaxing the muscle fibers and opening the fascia, the patient's task is to keep exercising - stretching and strengthening. Most often therapy is done without the opening of the joints which gives a short term effect only but no actual healing. Nice work!

      yeah

    • @brandonraynor
      @brandonraynor  5 років тому +21

      MONOKING of course it’s beneficial. Why would someone put up with it otherwise. The benefits are so many it’s hard to list. Let’s start with better joint flexibility, prevents arthritis, better circulation, better nerve supply, loosens the body higher up including abdominal muscles which produces better digestion, helps with depression and anxiety and fatigue, helps the spine etc etc etc

    • @brandonraynor
      @brandonraynor  5 років тому +19

      But lets look at the foot and this joint in particular as a foundation upon which the rest of the body sits. If the foundation in your house is rotten or stressed your house wont have everything working properly from the roof to the walls and the electricity and gutters. Its the same with the human body. For example my Great Aunt was very fit and healthy up until 92 or 93 but then she lost her mobility and then got depressed sitting in a hospice bed and all she wanted to do was die for the next 3 years. Seeing someone loose their mobility as they age is very sad and this joint is so important in my opinion.

      Raynor Massage | Brandon Raynor's School of Natural Therapies there’s no way that messing with a toe joint can loosen up the body’s abdominal muscles and help with digestive issues. As far as better circulation and nerve supply other traditional massages can do the same. There may be some slight benefits to this type of massage but don’t act as the modern day snake oil merchant and advertise it as a cure all for nearly every physical ailment.
