I believe you can buy brake pads that are advertised as low dust. But old Audi A6 also had terrible brake dust issues until I changed out the brakes and shopped around a bit. After that I it barely accumulated any dust even after a week.
Pretty much all modern cars get bad brake dust unless u get the carbon ceramic brakes. I’ve had bmw, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, dodge, Nissan and all bad brake dust. Wash the car and drive a few miles and come back w brake dust. As soon as I wear down the lads I replace w aftermarket pads w low dust. Fixed.
1. I agree definitely not comfortable, but that's a sports car for you like she said. 2. I like the exhaust not to be that loud. I really hate the loud obnoxious down pipes. 3. I noticed the bucking occurs frequently on the lower gears 1-2. 4. Didn't know about the Crank Hub but good to know. 5. THE BRAKE DUST IS REAL Valid accurate points on this video!
Thanks!! Yeah some things are just preference I think over time I learned to enjoy the exhaust! I’d say I just don’t love the sound of most s55 more so. Still love the car all around though :)
There was a DCT in the 2016-2021 not just the comp. You can also code in a better tune for the DCT. But that’s why I drive a manual. If you want more road comfort should have bought a m2cs with the adaptive suspension. Shame bmw doesn’t have adaptive suspension on all m cars as standard. Also break dust is common on 100 percent of all sports cars including my 900hp c7 z06 and my 600whp 2018 M2 LCI. You can get better pads which will help a ton.
You could get the KW adaptive suspension that would make the ride much softer on the "comfort" setting and less jarring would make the seats not so bad.
M2C owner here, I have a manual so I had no idea the DCT was like that? I don’t feel the car to be uncomfortable but then again maybe it’s because I don’t daily my car? Brake dust does suck though, there are pads that people recommend to use that will cut down on the dust a lot.
There is no bucking when you keep it in auto mode:) And just feather the throttle a bit when in manual mode. I did the crank hub fix just to be sure(and mine is making 550(Euro)HP crank) Thanks for sharing . Cheers Robin
I disagree abut the comfort. I have an M2 and it is the most comfortable car I have ever had. I agree about the brake dust. I've never had a car with this issue. Every time I wash the car the brake dust stains the driveway. It's impossible to remove the stains. Very annoying.
People complaining about the brake dust is stupid! Most cars have that issue. I put power stop brake pads on my C7 Corvette and problem solved. She would look better in the Corvette than a BMW anyhow.. Just sayn.. :)
I have a G87 M2. Here are my thoughts on the issues with your F87 Competition. 1) My G87 has adaptive suspension so I have zero back issues. Your car has track springs so it will definitely be painful. 2) BMW has a weird thing about their cars not being a “public nuisance” by creating “excessive” exhaust noise. My car’s exhaust note is also too quiet. 3) I have manual transmission so no jerking. There is a reason BMW abandoned DCTs you explain the issue well. 4) No known design flaws with the S58 engine, but it is too soon to know whether or not there will be issues down the road. 5) Yes! Unless you have expensive ceramic brakes, you are never going to have dust free wheels. Period.
I can't stand brake dust either. The year after I bought my current daily d, Porsche decided to make their PSCB's standard equip on the Macan GTS's. So none of them have a brake dust problem ever, and their rotors are mirror finished all the time. Ughhhh

Search for pads which have "Ceramic" composition, those give way less brake dust. Examples: EBC Redstuff, ATE Ceramic etc
3:17 def common in mercedes too 😁😁 makes me think twice before braking unnecessarily
Brake dust never ends lol
I noticed once you feel the car start bucking in 1st gear, i put it in 2nd gear. It stops the juddering immediately
Ya I’ve tried different things. Doing that does help
My 07 335i had the same brake dust issue as well and I always tried to keep that thing spotless because I’m super OCD. Drove me nuts
Haha it’s never ending 😭
@@sallyteee Haven’t tried but I’m told ceramic pads are much better in terms of dust

Yes I recent ceramic coated my wheeels as well to help with keeping them clean!
Should have bought a Kia
I’m guessing that’s what you drive?
And get smoked by an M2 competition?

I’ll have to look into those! Thanks!

I’ve definitely gotten used to the seats it was just as first! But hey it’s a sports car so who cares I’m there for the fun not comfort lol

Well done Sally!!! Have a great Sunday

I’m used to it now and doesn’t bother me but initially it wasn’t comfortable to me
“Most people” don’t mess with the crank hub. Very few do as a percentage of owners.
#1 and #5 is the most annoying and very accurate. My wife said I’m getting old but it’s just not a comfortable seat at all.
Yup I deal with the brake dust daily 😅

Yes! Luckily I’ve adapted to #1 was just weird at first but now I’m used to it and have no issues :)

Why are you so out of breath lol?
Cause sometimes I get nervous and hold my breath while taking on camera 😭
@ I’m in the market for an M2
debating strictly 2018 model or the comp 19-21. Thoughts ?
@ get a newer model if you can afford it imo They haven’t dropped in price in the past 3 years! They hold value
@ thanks for the feedback. The biggest factor is that crank hub issue. I saw you changed yours, no issues post install?
