I agree, the oil drain is down in there. The trick is to slide a 4in low profile oil pan under the mower and use a socket extension to open the oil valve. The benefit is no dripping hose but you do need a 1/4 ratchet to open it.

I’ve been running Wright Standers and Wright ZK’s for over 20 years and my guys love them.

We run Wright and Scag. For the oil change, the filter on the Wright is a nightmare, but we don't drain the oil, we suck it out of the dipstick tube with a fluid extractor.

I'm from Hayesville NC but my company runs all REO, Reverse Mortgage and Foreclosure Preservation over NC, SC, GA and TN so needless to say I love following your Videos!!!

Pete great review! I found that if you remove a bushing or 2 from under the platform, it will soften the platform quite a bit. Makes it a lot nicer ride, as the machine is pretty rigid. Helps a lot!

One of only three main mower companies left that hasn't sold out to a conglomerate others being Scag and Walker

One thing you’ve mentioned in the previous videos but didn’t in this video is the gas tank(s) on the Wright. Not having used one, seeing that there’s one on each side looks like a huge benefit for sustained use and weight distribution compared to others.

8 hours run time on a full tank. Built for commercial non stop mowing.

Boy, the whole ride quality deficiency really has me second-guessing my Wright LG purchase. I test drove it, and it was noticeably stiffer than my Ferris Z2, and it was a five minute zip around. There are four circle-type suspension deals under the platform. I’m 200 lbs. I’m wondering if taking two out would help. I can cut a lot of grass on my Ferris before I fatigue much at all. Hills get my hip talking to me. I want to increase efficiency with 12.5 mph and 61”, but I sure don’t want to dread mowing and my purchase. Might be a Z3 upgrade after all. Thoughts and thank you for the great review(s).

Tire pressure makes a huge difference. I've heard the rubber buffers do, too. I haven't taken any buffers out on mine and run about 12 psi in the tires. Mine is the X, not the ZK or LG, so I don't know how much difference that would be. Just make sure to adjust deck pitch with tire psi.

Do try taking out an elastomer on each side of the platform. It is recommended by Ed Wright.

If you build a 1’ ramp and service drive out of 1x12 you will be able to service your machine. I have several removable sections to allow me to get under my ZK from the side.

Pete, did you add the Northern baffle kit to your ZK since you cut fescue ? Having issues with my ZK and quality of cut. I have new blades, 1/4 pitch to front and level side to side, just wondering what you have done to yours since you rave about the ZK,s. Appreciate all you do, keep bringing all the informative vids !! BTW I’m having the same issues you did when you first got yours 6 years ago with all the clippings laying and clumping.

7:25 Once I take those shields off I never put them back on they are useless makes it so much easier to work on the machine and blow down at the end of the day

I enjoy the handling on my Wright mower too and it’s a lowly Intensity model. 🙂 It is a delight to use….I just need a bigger yard.

I purchased a Wright Stander B for my home about 3 years ago along with the Big League strip kit. Can't agree with you more Pete, there's nothing like a Wright cut.

The Spartan Kg Xd has a cup holder that will hold your drink perfectly. Spartan also offers a set of front suspension forks.

Maybe a top to the drink holder. It would also help keep dust out of your beverage. Thanks Pete!@@

It seems like you’re the type of guy who relies on the dealership to handle challenging situations like getting an oil filter off. Good luck out there!

If you use the trailer ramps you can easily change your blades.

Great video Pete! I just have a question about the bottom of the deck. On the back of the deck with the center blade there is a piece of steel welded on an angle. That to me looks like a spot where dirt and moisture can get into and cause rust over time. I mow down here on the coast of Florida so any pocket for dirt/sand/moisture to get into and not be able to remove is a concern. Otherwise this is a beast of a mower

I can change any belt in less than 5mins. Really drop the deck. Use an oil extractor and a socket extension to get the filter off. You can change the oil less in than 15 minutes. Wright is the only mowers we use because the maintenance is simple and easy. And Ed Wright stands behind behind his mowers do you never have issues with warranties

Never! Check your tsb’s and have your dealer address any issues.

Great video love the weights cut quality lays amazing stripes but one downside is I don’t like the two handles

    • @Limitedfreedomofspeech
      @Limitedfreedomofspeech 3 місяці тому

You only use one side to go forward or the other to go reverse, almost never use the front handles myself. But it is a better design than scag or Deere.

The equipment does not get in the way of an oil change. Trash bag and hydro hoses specifically.
