Wayne Messmer was the Chicago Stadium. That voice and hearing these old clips at the Chicago Stadium still sends chills up and down the spine. You are foolin' yourself, if you deny what I am saying?!
This was emotional thank god Wayne survived and was able to continue singing it’s sad he’s not still doing Hawk games and they had a falling out. He was the Jim cornilson before Jim
Even all these years later...hearing Wayne sing the Star Spangled Banner in the old Chicago Stadium makes me tear up. There wasn't a more beautiful sound out there than hearing Wayne Messmer sing with about 17,000 "back up singers". The United Center is nice...but NOTHING will ever be like the Chicago Stadium.
There was no place more original than the madhouse on Madison st. It should never have been torn down. The roar during the anthem was devastating and inspiring.
Wow. Seems unreal. This was in a time and place before it became chic to wear the flag pin on the lapel of a coat to prove your patriotism. This was still in a time and place where no one could text security that "Idiots are lighting sparklers in my section". This was in a time and place where most people didn't have to be directed to give their sincere hope of recovery to a good neighbor & friend and his wife, Wayne and Kathy Messmer. Thank you for this video.
Who doesnt? I have the deepest of respect for both Jim and Wayne. Its just Wayne sounded better w the old barton organ and Jim sounds better with the new organ they have. They compliment better as a match
I have young nephews in their 30's that grew up and live in las Vegas. They became huge VGK fans. I always want to try and tell them exactly what the Stadium was like. I decide not too. It had to be experienced
Wayne's a tenor and Jim's a baritone. They're similar in singing style just have different tones. They should have moved the barton organ to the horizon when they Wayne moved on.
"That's Chicago Stadium. That's Hockey!!!" It brought tears to my eyes. I miss the old barn.

It's a BlackHawk thing, they wouldn't understand. FEAR THE HORN AND BRING HOME A REPEAT

I had season tickets for 15 years at the Stadium, and that was the loudest anthem I can ever remember. The UC isn't the same.

3:32 - Is it live...or is it Messmerex?
Pre recorded since Messmer was shot
Who is the voice of the Chicago blackhawks stadium
Wayne was the singer and I believe the old PA announcer has since passed
Even though i was a baby when it came down, I'll always wish i could've seen a game in the old barn
Trust me ... it was nice but still a cramped shit hole.. kinda like Wrigley but more people
Chicago Stadium the biggest home advantage in any sports next is Lambeau Field in Green Bay
5:29 he hits the notes hard
Wayne sings, Jim shouts. Advantage Wayne.
WHO IS THE VOICE IS CHICAGO BLACKHAUKS
