Im a lifelong Bruins fan but even i can appreciate the voice of Wayne Messmer, the pipe organ and the roar of the old Madhouse on Madison. Jim Corneilson is good, but you sir were the best.
This. Is. Awesome. I've seen Wayne Mesmer sing so many times when I was an usher at the Allstate Arena, I've even interacted with him on a few occasions(Really nice guy). I've even seen him sing the national anthem twice between 13 hours. BUT I have never seen this and this just blows my mind seeing Wayne next to the organist. Man how times have changed in terms of fan gear. Almost everyone was in awkward 80s clothes meanwhile now almost everyone is rocking a hawks jersey or shirt of some kind. Times have changed for The Blackhawks and the fans alike.
I am still proud of my Canadien [heritage] Country! I have been in Connecticut 56 yrs now. I still have excellent memories of My native Lac Baker Parish [New Brunswick] CANADA. Terre de nos ADIEUX, where I was born. I still contact my relatives outthere.
pls mr.rocky w. get the Barton console back to the uc...it's in some Rich's mans home restored. he did all the upgrades..to it. next it will end up in the new hockey venue...that will be a sad day for our team. a slap in the face...Allen organ co can install it. I'm Shure.. not in a booth but where it belongs w the crowd...
Coming home down 2 games to 0 during 1985 playoffs to the Oilers.. The crowd clapped thru the anthem for the first time...Playing inspired hockey the Hawks fought back to tie the series...
Wayne Messmer sent many shivers down many spines when he sang. The best anthem singer ever. Period.
Chills every single time I heard Wayne sing with the big organ and it had to be a few hundred times. Every single time.

Still sends chills up my spine, some 33 years later.
BEST. ANTHEM. EVER.
I will always stand for both anthems
Here is the greatest rendition ever of both the Canadian and US anthems in one video! Wow!

This video does not play. I've tried on 3 machines at home, and 2 at work. Please fix. I gotta hear Wayne!
Bob Raatz always put a neat little flourish on the end of the anthem. You can kinda hear it there.
No one has ever sung it better

Wow. Great upload. Do you have anything Bulls-related from SportsVision? I'd love to see some rookie MJ. Thanks.
I see Johnny Anderson wearing #10 for the Leafs.
Watch this!
He stood next to largest pipe organ in north America
The best!!!
... I can understand that...... but did you ever hear Roger Doucette in Montreal? Different, yes; but at least equally good, IMO.
When did the fans start going bananas during the Star Spangled Banner?

This is so sick!!!
Could hear this better before the crowd would roar in applause!
