I really liked how they used Perry in this movie as some kind of secret guardian angel. It makes sense to the plot and highlighted his care for the boys. The sequence with the song "Unsung Hero" is one of my favorite of the movie because it was a great demonstration of Perry's character. You see him floating out into space to protect the rocket from asteroids with no plans, very little preparation and a whole lot of desperate, last minute action because he cared about the boys so much. For a character devoid of, well, much character for much of the show's run, this scene was highly appreciated.

One of my favorite jokes is going 2x the speed of light and Phineas and the gang being reduced down to storyboards and us seeing dan and swampy. I love meta humor like that
I enjoyed the movie, I will say I found some of the comedy a bit hit or miss. The jokes felt more like Milo's style than P&F for me. I like them from MML but it felt a little out of place in P&F. There were plenty of gems though including that final scene with Lawrence! I really like how they still made sure to get rid of the portal in the backyard. 😂 Oh! And Chop Away at my Heart made it in! Loved that. 😅 Most of the cast felt in character, if a bit toned down. I liked how Phineas was very concerned for his sister. The dynamic with Doof and Isabella was pretty fun. However I do think Balijeet was a bit dumbed down for the sake of making "Space Adventure" jokes. I agree Perry was utilized so well and the joke the end where Monogram called him again and everyone looked at him suspiciously was great! Us against the Universe was such a fun upbeat song. The timeline was slightly confusing but that's nothing new.. While overall I'd say 2nd Dimension is the better movie (for me) this one was a lot of fun and I loved seeing the P&F gang again.
I have to agree. I laughed a lot throughout the whole movie, but some of the jokes just felt out of place. Much of it seemed like Phineas and Ferb, but it didn't feel quite right. Example: when the goons fell into the swamp and the guy was totally deadpan as they were eaten by the fish thing. That was completely a P&F kind of joke, but it felt artificial to me. Maybe I'm the only one, but it felt like some of the jokes were just trying to check a "P&F style jokes" box. I also feel like some of the amazing songs felt out of nowhere. Even surprise songs in P&F gave the audience a moment of, "oh, we're about to get a song!" Some of these felt abrupt though. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie! I just feel like some points felt a little too desperate to capture the original P&F magic. (I said SOME, not all or even most!)
I disagree with the Out of place jokes complaint. Aside from Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law being in the same universe, the jokes in the movie felt like jokes from Phineas and Ferb to me.
@@jtwattsmusic Right that's basically my opinion Oh yeah that's one of the jokes that didn't really land for me. Especially since we had a lot of the "hold on the reaction" jokes. The best was the door but I thought there were times it was overused. Oh agree with you there too. Some weren't set up that well. Did love the "wait why do I have a guitar" gag though. Yeah. Honestly I tried not to set expectations too high for this movie. I never expected it to reach the level of 2nd Dimension since that was made in the show's prime. So I agree that they tried a bit too hard at times to recapture something that I don't think is there anymore. That's probably why I see the MML influence. That's the show they were making and that style of humor is slightly different. I do hope this didn't keep us from getting a third season. (seems like it might've) but if so at least it's an enjoyable movie.
@@knarrow0222 Hmm, the best way for me to judge is to compare the two movies and I don't see quite the same style in 2nd Dimension. Doesn't help that this plot was very similar to the MML Season 2 finale. Just kind of reversed it. (Not really complaining about it, im just saying that might another reason I'm reminded of MML style)
I never knew I wanted, nay needed, an Isabella-Doof duet, until this movie came along. What an awesome way to not only give Isabella a song too, but to play off her leadership qualities too. I swear this show is at its best when the A and B plots come together and merge and all the characters interact with each other, it leads to moments like that 😁
I watched it with a couple friends over Discord and we were BLOWN AWAY at how good it was!! I agree the pacing, while good, did feel a little fast throughout but given the more lighthearted tone compared to AT2D I am totally fine with that. The songs are also top notch, Us Against especially!
Back In 2008-2015 : Phineas and Ferb is my favorite cartoon growing up Now in 2020 : Aren't you a little old to watch a Phineas and Ferb movie Me: Yes, yes I am 😊
My favorite song in the movie was “the whole universe is against me” and I was so sad that it stopped short in the actual movie. (Of course I listened to it in the end credits tho) overall, this movie was amazing and definitely worth the wait.
My one complaint is that I have no idea when this takes place during the P&F Cannon. Doof still seems to be doing evil so this can't take place after "Last day of Summer" except this movie seems to have Candace giving up busting the boys which she's still trying to do in "Last Day of Summer" so does this movie take place before or after the finale? Other than that it was a fantastic movie that finally got me to empathize with Candace.
@Sane Person Buford's response to Doofenshmirtz despite already meeting would be the only plot hole since most of the evidence in the beginning points to the event before the last day of summer.
I was sad there was no Meep cameo. A large part of P&F was building this expansive world, so for them to not use it, to not have Phineas and Ferb call on their space allies feels disappointing.
The fact that Jeremy LARPs makes me so happy. Also the alien crony with the giant mustache reminded me of Mitch the alien. I wonder is thats a common alien style in the Dwampyverse. So the aliens in that universe are Meap’s race, Super Super Big Doctor’s race, the Cowards, the Octalians, the aliens that help Milo and Zack get to school on time in MML episode 1, the Martians Candace was queen of, and the miscellaneous aliens from the Shooting Star Milkshake Bar. Between the treaties mentioned by Major Monogram in the film and offhand comments by Bob Block in MML, I’m really interested in the growing number of extra-terrestrial species and their connected societies in the Dwampyverse.
I love that one of the alien cronies has a translator mustache. It's a small detail that would come across as a gag for those who don't get it, but for me it was so satisfying to see.
I also really liked the scene where they used the chicken-replace-inator for the first time and the dragon thing got teleported to the old couple that's always arguing 😂👌🏻
If for everytime I heard the whole universe is against me I had a nickel I would have 6 nickels which isn't much but it's surprising it happened more than once

Overall I love this movie and I'm gonna watch it several more times 8/10
Personally, I wasn’t a fan. Not bad but it felt too much like it was just a regular episode extended to greater length than it was an actual movie. There are also certain flaws it has that I find difficult to overlook
Adulting was definitely my favorite song in the movie. Doof and Isabella's interactions were perfect, his dancing was hilarious, but I feel like when Isabella said "Can you start a fire?" I feel like Doof should've said "Not on purpose." Either way, this song was hilarious.
I definitely agree. I'm torn because I love Summer Belongs To You and Us Against The Universe....Summer Belongs To You has been my favorite Phineas and Ferb song since it's debut and with Us Against The Universe there's a song that finally can compete with Summer Belongs To You. What I loved about Us Against The Universe was it's message. I'm definitely torn it's gonna take me awhile to figure out what's My #1 and #2 favorite songs.
Personally I think this is the true ending to their original run’s summer. They said it was in summer, but never specified what part of summer-it could’ve been after school started but before September 21.
I liked this movie ‘cause it’s different from what we saw before on the show. I mean, we had Phinbella moments before, Perry had a big arc in AT2D... It’s finally time for Candace to shine! This was really great.
the biggest complaint I have is a plot hole. why didn't perry just come along as Phineas and Ferb's pet? it's literally a running gag that doof is too dumb to tell the difference between a regular platypus and *gasp* PERRY THE PLATYPUS!!!
The best part of the movie was when phineas and ferb gave Candace the mug with a holographic projector of moments from the series. I actually started crying!
Whole movie I was like... "Where are the Fireside girls 46321?" Doof replaces the alien with the nearest chicken and later Vanessa replaces themself with the farthest chicken. So basically there are 2 chickens in another planet. And at the end, Candace replaces that monster with the farthest chicken, which means one chicken is alone in that planet, for which I feel really bad :(
Something I'm surprised no one's bringing up is the founder of the Tri-State Area. I don't know who this John P. Tri-State fellow is, but in the History of the Tri-State Area song, it's explained that the Tri-State Area used to be 3 single-state areas and that there were multiple founders. Continuity has not been preserved.
Woah woah woah, you can't be so imprudent and talk about Quentin Trembley like that. That's extremely classified information. You could get us both killed!
I loved this movie! I agree Us Against the Universe was literally so good! My brother and I loved it! We also both def got choked up at the end with the gift giving scene with Phineas, Ferb, and Candace. We also both absolutely LOVED the part where it jumps out to storyboard with Dan and Swampy, it was HILARIOUS. Such a great movie
"Was it as bad as LS Mark says it was" i...i think it was :( For real though I'm glad so many were able to enjoy it haha, I get my issues were more of a me thing that won't bother most
I think that the chicken-replace-inator was a reference to Milo Murphy’s Law. In the last episode of season 2, Doof brought the chicken-replace-inator and the reduce-inator to Octalia. He didn’t use the chicken-replace-inator; he used the reduce-inator. And in this movie, he used the chicken-replace-inator.
I loved the movie from focusing on Candace's story, songs, the new animation and the characters. It gave me throwback to my favorite Disney shows of all time. Another season of Phineas and Ferb would work since Summer is happening every year. We need more of these boys, pharmacist and their secret agent platypus
8:10 why do I understand all of those... sigh I hate 2020... 1: Being Quarantined. 2: BLM probs 3: Refused entry 4: Protesters breaking old antique statues.
Loved the movie, But if I’m being honest, the comedy and writing didn’t hold a candle to across the 2nd dimension. While I liked most of the music, I don’t think the best one was as good as any of them in at2d either
I gotta admit, most of the comedy was your typical stretched-out, very long jokes, like: -P&F saying Vroblok -Candace trying to get a smoothie -The alien base making a weird tone -The welcome service song and the slowly opening door -The coward slave trying to escape for a grand 53 seconds -The guard struggling to control the treadmill -The cowards listing their fears -Doof failing to get back to Earth with the chicken inator And I loved all of them. Yep, I have low standards for comedy.
And “axe-idents can happen.” Also when Isabela and doof are fighting in the truck and she says “see this patch? Pray you never find out what it’s for.” I was watching it with my brother and dad in the same room and we all started laughing because it got hostile so fast
It was a really great movie. It felt like watching Phineas and Ferb again. I agree, though, the pacing in the beginning and middle was a little rushed. And I felt like Super Super Big Doctor needed a little more origin. But the songs were great. I especially loved "Adulting" and "Beautiful Day"
How did Doof, Vanessa or Perry know about the plant enough to know to put on face masks in the end? Vanessa was too lost in the jungle to know about the spores, or the plant. Doof didn't know about the mind control spores, and I'm sure Perry didn't know either.
I see you were just as happy watching it as I was 😂 Also I already said this on twitter but saying that UATU is better than SBTY is a controversial statement BUT IT’S TRUE

@@jtwattsmusic Right that's basically my opinion
Oh yeah that's one of the jokes that didn't really land for me.
I liked how the movie broke the 4th wall so many times, especially considering the characters were aware of montages happening
Doofenshmirtz: It's branding leave me alone
Back In 2008-2015 : Phineas and Ferb is my favorite cartoon growing up
Now in 2020 : Aren't you a little old to watch a Phineas and Ferb movie
Me: Yes, yes I am 😊
Correction: no, no you’re not😎
@@gracekim1998 Grew up with the series made me so excited for the movie
It’s sometime before the last episode of the series
I heard someone say it’s the very day before the last episode and I think that feels like the right answer
@@snowyyzoe but didn't Buford already met Doofenshmirtz before
I heard middle of the series was where it took place but that works as well
@Sane Person Buford's response to Doofenshmirtz despite already meeting would be the only plot hole since most of the evidence in the beginning points to the event before the last day of summer.
do you like milo murphys law or phineas and ferb more
Milo more, but Phineas will always have a special place
Phineas Flynn's Law I think milo improved it
@@Mirrorcomics24 waiting for the phineas flynns law movie
C2s2 Art what?
I love them equally 🙂 I know you weren’t asking me but I wanted to answer too😎
I was sad there was no Meep cameo. A large part of P&F was building this expansive world, so for them to not use it, to not have Phineas and Ferb call on their space allies feels disappointing.
Ehhh
I loved Candace and Vanessa's little solo and the ending song. They are such good songs.
I loved the joke about Ferb loving patch related threats so, so much. Might just be one of my favourite jokes in all of PnF
I agreed the movie was amazing. I love how expressive Ferb was on the movie. I also love the Isabella and Doof interactions. By the way great review.
If for everytime I heard the whole universe is against me I had a nickel I would have 6 nickels which isn't much but it's surprising it happened more than once
I feel an urge to capture you to restore my honor
fun fact: the 'free t-shirt guy' is voiced by weird al
plus milo murphy was supposed to be in the movie but his bit was cut
Yeah, Milo has been cut due to pacing problems
Wait really?!
@@gracekim1998 ua-cam.com/video/_ZwP-WdTlCw/v-deo.html
Its because when the creators didn't want everyone to think it all went wrong because of murphys law and that this was all Milos fault because the movies about phineas and ferb and their relationship with candace not Milo and murphys law creating a problem
My favorite parts:
- Jeremy LARPing. Just yes
- Thomas Sanders is in it so also yes
- chop chop chop caught me off guard, it was absolutely hilarious.
- and just perry in this loved it
Oh my I didn’t notice Isabella’s voice pitch until you pointed it out😆
Baljeet: Why are you bringing a canoe into space?
Buford: *It's a surprise tool that'll help us later*
This was a really awesome review, I must say this is some of the best Phineas and Ferb content on Candace's relationship with the boys that we've ever seen, I cried when she got her present, the boys are so sweet and I love them ❤️ also yes Us Against the Universe was the best song for me but Adulting was SO CLOSE. Overall I love this movie and I'm gonna watch it several more times 8/10
Hearing chop chop chop come out of nowhere was really great, I really wasnt expecting it and it made me laugh harder than I have in a while
Personally, I wasn’t a fan.
Us Against The Universe: Exist
Summer Belongs To You: Finally a worthy opponent. Our battle will be legendary!
I find the thought that Jeremy is secretly LARPing hilarious. Dude probably speaks elvish or something like that and just hides it very, very well.
Wow my least favourite is “Us against the universe” my personal favourite is adulting 😂
Please change your pfp before you get bullied please ❤️❤️❤️
I've had it before
I liked this movie ‘cause it’s different from what we saw before on the show. I mean, we had Phinbella moments before, Perry had a big arc in AT2D... It’s finally time for Candace to shine! This was really great.
*When you are in a life and death situation and the only people to survive is knowing what tip of your shoelace is called*
the biggest complaint I have is a plot hole. why didn't perry just come along as Phineas and Ferb's pet? it's literally a running gag that doof is too dumb to tell the difference between a regular platypus and *gasp* PERRY THE PLATYPUS!!!
No
The best part of the movie was when phineas and ferb gave Candace the mug with a holographic projector of moments from the series. I actually started crying!
I loved the emotional scene in the movie how candace, phineas, and ferb connected as siblings with eachother.
Whole movie I was like... "Where are the Fireside girls 46321?"
Doof replaces the alien with the nearest chicken and later Vanessa replaces themself with the farthest chicken. So basically there are 2 chickens in another planet. And at the end, Candace replaces that monster with the farthest chicken, which means one chicken is alone in that planet, for which I feel really bad :(
Or maybe not because of 2:48
Glad I wasn’t the only one to tear up at the end!
4:01 I loved this shot. Great review as always!
I enjoy everything except for the alien flossing that was hard to watch
Something I'm surprised no one's bringing up is the founder of the Tri-State Area. I don't know who this John P. Tri-State fellow is, but in the History of the Tri-State Area song, it's explained that the Tri-State Area used to be 3 single-state areas and that there were multiple founders. Continuity has not been preserved.
Woah woah woah, you can't be so imprudent and talk about Quentin Trembley like that. That's extremely classified information. You could get us both killed!
Ls mark: are u challenging me
My favorite moment was when the boys gave Candace their gift they made her
Wait, a special where phineas doesnt yell at someone
It was honestly astonishing how self aware this film was. From the end credits song to the storyboard joke
Thanks to Doof im going to start using the word Adulting😂
I loved this movie! I agree Us Against the Universe was literally so good! My brother and I loved it! We also both def got choked up at the end with the gift giving scene with Phineas, Ferb, and Candace. We also both absolutely LOVED the part where it jumps out to storyboard with Dan and Swampy, it was HILARIOUS. Such a great movie
"Was it as bad as LS Mark says it was"
i...i think it was :( For real though I'm glad so many were able to enjoy it haha, I get my issues were more of a me thing that won't bother most
DUDE! Thanks for watching! Absolutely love your vids & editing style. But we gonna have to disagree about this one 😔
LS Mark, I haven't saw the movie, but even so, I respect your opinion. Also, I like most of your videos.
LS Mark. You will never be forgiven by me. You are something that I don't believe should exist. But whatever a hole. You do you I guess. 🤨😏😒
When you have to plaster something as redundant as 'in my opinion' on your title, then I don't have reason to respect you.
Jonathan‘s expression while us against the universe plays in the background is just pure wholesome gold
I love the shot of Candace’s eyes gazing into space in the opening song
I think that the chicken-replace-inator was a reference to Milo Murphy’s Law. In the last episode of season 2, Doof brought the chicken-replace-inator and the reduce-inator to Octalia. He didn’t use the chicken-replace-inator; he used the reduce-inator. And in this movie, he used the chicken-replace-inator.
Oh yeah!
I loved the movie from focusing on Candace's story, songs, the new animation and the characters. It gave me throwback to my favorite Disney shows of all time.
Another season of Phineas and Ferb would work since Summer is happening every year. We need more of these boys, pharmacist and their secret agent platypus
is anybody gonna miss the fact he has 4 tv remotes?
My only complaint is how that one alien did the floss
I heard Seth McFarlane voicing Jeff McGarland I was like "Stan Smith!?!?!" because that voice is the same one
Felt more like Milo Murphy's law than Phineas and ferb
Did anyone else release when candace was singing on her bike on the second rage she said and other nonsense coming soon
Is it just me or is Vanessa's skin a different color?
Really loved this movie. I have listened to the songs over and over. Loved the relationship between Candace and her brothers. Also great video :)
8:10 why do I understand all of those... sigh I hate 2020...
1: Being Quarantined.
2: BLM probs
3: Refused entry
4: Protesters breaking old antique statues.
My favorite song was “baby we’re back” and it was barley in the movie
Loved the movie, But if I’m being honest, the comedy and writing didn’t hold a candle to across the 2nd dimension. While I liked most of the music, I don’t think the best one was as good as any of them in at2d either
I gotta admit, most of the comedy was your typical stretched-out, very long jokes, like:
-P&F saying Vroblok
-Candace trying to get a smoothie
-The alien base making a weird tone
-The welcome service song and the slowly opening door
-The coward slave trying to escape for a grand 53 seconds
-The guard struggling to control the treadmill
-The cowards listing their fears
-Doof failing to get back to Earth with the chicken inator
And I loved all of them. Yep, I have low standards for comedy.
And “axe-idents can happen.” Also when Isabela and doof are fighting in the truck and she says “see this patch? Pray you never find out what it’s for.”
I was watching it with my brother and dad in the same room and we all started laughing because it got hostile so fast
The dedication to the Burford Canoe gag was the best
It was a really great movie. It felt like watching Phineas and Ferb again. I agree, though, the pacing in the beginning and middle was a little rushed. And I felt like Super Super Big Doctor needed a little more origin. But the songs were great. I especially loved "Adulting" and "Beautiful Day"
Buford says something funny here
Another great video great job
How did Doof, Vanessa or Perry know about the plant enough to know to put on face masks in the end? Vanessa was too lost in the jungle to know about the spores, or the plant. Doof didn't know about the mind control spores, and I'm sure Perry didn't know either.
I had a real good time with this movie. Well worth the wait indeed.
Also this movie made me appreciate Isabella way more.
Best joke in the film in my opinion: "Buford says something funny."
Oh yeah the reality spinning all the way to the storyboard bit? I love that part! I think that was Genius in my opinion!
I see you were just as happy watching it as I was 😂
Also I already said this on twitter but saying that UATU is better than SBTY is a controversial statement BUT IT’S TRUE
Ferb's new VA actually does a really good job, I'm impressed.
The animation is different because they finished half at home look a Dan povimeres TikTok
When me and my family watched it we made grilled cheese (because it’s Candaces favorite food) and we had pie at the end of the movie (because Linda always makes some kind of treat, a lot of the time pie) we loved this movie!!!
Omg that’s so wholesome I love that so much!!!
My main issue is Meap and Big Mitch were absent in the movie! A cameo would’ve been nice!
Movie was great. My favorite part was obviously the fourth wall break jokes. Not to mention the post credit scene where the invention disappeared when the mom came home.
