That's okay. I assume the mistake was made because of how the end credits list the animation studios in alphabetical order, and not necessarily that this studio animated this act specifically.
Don't be too hard on yourself. Snipple Animation is without a doubt one of the worst overseas animation services; it saddens me that one of The Philippines finest (and I use 'finest' extremely loosely) tainted one of my favorite Disney shows: Phineas & Ferb (ever since the sloppy 2020 sequel: Candace Against the Universe) and Hamster & Gretel (it would be a lot better if they had Patrick Warburton as Hamster instead of Beck Bennett). It's bad enough Toon City tainted SVTFOE and The 7D. I hope that Snipple won't work on P&F's potential return.

The stakes could not be higher, if P&F fail they have to forego their whole worldview. They have to spend the rest of the summer doing nothing, and admit that summer is not what you make of it. These stakes threaten the essence of what Phineas and Ferb is about. If they fail, everything the show has worked for, and the message it tries to send out, die. The stakes could not be higher. There are great episodes in season 4 but nothing captures P&F the way "Summer Belongs to You" does. P&F is a show about making the most of your day, and this episode's premise is literally trying to make the most of the literal day. And the character growth for Candace, Heinz, and Vanessa in this one episode is immaculate and defines their characters for the rest of the show's run.
I think the reason why ATSD is so much better is because it explores everything that could never happen/wasn’t ALLOWED to happen in a regular episode. Phineas and ferb discover Perry’s secret. Doof takes over the tristate area. Isabella finally expresses her feelings to phineas. It finally gives the audience everything we’ve been waiting for.
I've always love Phineas & Ferb The movie across the 2nd Dimension because this shows A true Evil Doof and Phineas and Ferb knowing their pet Perry is a secret agent was a scene I'll never forget!❤👍😎🌟
Yes agree. If people told me to grow up to forget something spectacular, then i Wouldn't want to grow up. Grow up suck, go away and just be suck alone.
I love how the true evil Doof had such a pathetic back story of just losing a toy train while regular Doof had such a scarring childhood from being disowned by his parents to being forced to be the family’s gnome every night in a row for multiple years
My big problem with CATU is that I feel like the concept I was sold on was 'interactions between characters that we didn't see a lot of together on in the show' - having Candace and Vanessa kidnapped together, or Doof working with the kids. But aside from the Doof and Isabella plot, we never really get to see that because the movie separates those groups of characters early on, in favor of the groups we're used to seeing. 2nd Dimension did something really unique, giving us a plot that the show never could have, while CATU feels a lot more like a typical episode extended to movie length. Also CATU really should have had Stacy involved with Perry's plot.
@@champion1859 well this could easily just be me, but i kinda feel like the show doesnt really need more episodes as pretty much every interesting aspect already got explored pretty well, but then there was the stacy and perry interaction that just seemed so much like it was setting up something, literally anything but then it just never came back other than one throwaway line. so, my wishlist upon learning that there's going to be more seasons pretty much starts and ends with finally getting something with stacy and perry to pay this off but then the comment pointed out quite correctly that they had all the reason to bring that up again in CATU and then didnt. that being said, in the 2 months it took me to remember to reply to this, i found out one of the confirmed season 5 episode titles is 'agent t for teen', so maybe not all hope is lost. maybe.
Across the Second Dimension no contest. Candace Against the Universe is good but it's too similar to the Queen of Mars episode. The first song Such a Beautiful Day and Us Against the Universe are addicting though.
Across the 2nd dimension brings back hilarious memories I'll never forget the very first time I watched it....Candace against the universe was good too but I also think the 2nd dimension was better
Something I love about 2D Doofenshmirtz is how he's a *huge* parallel to the original, like with his backstory, for instance. Doofenshmirtz didn't just have a tragic backstory. He had tragic backSTORIES. And he still ended up as a low-ranking villain (And eventually gave up evil) 2D Doof,on the other hand, literally lost a toy train, and went full evil scientist Hitler. *I love this show so much*
Candace against the universe feels like a special and that's it, not like a movie, the stakes don't matter since we know the ending, the characters are mostly already developed and the struggle Candace faces is the same she had when she went to Mars, it's great fun but it isn't as impactful as it could have been had it released before the show ended
I fully agree, if we were to take away the stakes from both Candace against the universe doesn’t change much, while the 2nd dimension fully loses all it’s value
If I had a Nickel for every time Disney made a Phineas and Ferb movie, I would have 2 Nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Only one thing I forgot to say - Phineas's eyebrows are ELITE in Candace Against the Universe. Mad props to the board artists for giving us premium Phineas eyebrow content
It’s honestly odd when I realize one of the few times Phineas’s eyebrows are shown is when he’s mad, which is a rarity itself. But yeah, they definitely dialed it us, even when he wasn’t mad.
say what you want about the soundtrack, the deleted song of Step into the great unknown is one of the best songs in the movie (had it actually been there) and is better than several of the songs that are in the final version of the movie
33:05 well, even though it still bugged me whenever I watched the movie on TV, at least it was understandable because there was a commercial break. But they really should’ve cut that out on Disney+, because without commercials it feels really weird to see the scene repeated immediately.
Yeah, I’d have to go with Across the 2nd Dimension has the better movie. Candace Against the Universe is good, but the first one is just more iconic and nostalgic. Also, I fully binge watched Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure and LOVED it!
I’ve only seen Candace Against The Universe once but I remember I really didn’t like the running gags going on for so long And for the marketing, they actually did air the videos for Such A Beautiful Day and We’re Back on Disney Channel a lot, but I do agree the promotion for Across The 2nd Dimension was better And since you brought it up: the song All The Convoluted Reasons We Pretend To Be Divorced from the sequel episode is so great 😂😂😂
While objectively Across The Second Dimension is the better movie, I always felt a special connection to Candace Against The Universe. It’s emotional journey is so perfect, I can forgive all of its flaws. Also Us Against The Universe is literally my favorite song of all time so there’s that.
I think both movies are equally great but I'll always prefer 2nd Dimension. Candace Against The Universe still delivers basically everything I wanted from a Phineas and Ferb movie
The alternate dimension perry is a reference to the borg from star trek, so it's the whole second dimension since it's a lot like star trek's mirror universe, and it's not surprising since Dan, the p&f co-creator, is a huge trek fan.
@@The2ndDimension Btw in Milo Murphy's law the creator of Dr. zone i think it's like a reference to Gene Roddemberry, the creator of star trek, and actually dr. zone can be considered a star trek alter ego in the p&f universe (but mostly inspired from doctor who and other sci-fi) btw time traveling doofensmirtz, becoming world wide famous for his invention can be also seen as a reference to zefram cochrane which is a character in the trek universe that invented the technology that allows faster than light space travel (and so space ships capable of reaching other planets in reasonable time), and becoming a symbolic historical figure for that.
24:54 "Buford says something funny here" made me laugh *so* much actually this whole scene did Phineas and ferb's 4th wall breaks are some of the best jokes in the whole series
I think Phineas & Ferb the movie across the 2nd Dimenstion is still the best and the battle with Evil Doof and the songs are outstanding so I hope there will be a video about the teenage mutant ninja turtles!
i didn't notice the animation differences too much when watching CATU but now that you've pointed them out it's painfully obvious. i remember thinking that the lines were too thick in the beginning of the movie, but i didn't notice how STIFF the animation was. now if you'll excuse me, i'm off to watch Across the Second Dimension again-
Before I even watch the video, I just wanna say that I love how professional and official you are when it comes to cartoons and movies. Your analysis is always great, you cover all the points a fellow cartoonist wants to hear, and your humor is great. Also... ROBOT RIOT REPRESENT
Across the 2nd Dimension always will be my favorite. I mean, Multiversal Shenanigans are what I love! (Also why No Way Home is Top 3 Spider-Man movies)
Also I feel like Across the 2nd Dimension really showcases what P&F is about. Like it's packed full of the action but also the comedy of the actual show that again, it feels like an extended episode. P&F: Candace against rhe Universe doesn't feel like a P&F movie? Like it's fine as a movie but doesn't really feel like it's P&F? If you know what I mean?
I remember watching the 2nd Dimension when it came out and I still remember almost everything. I also watched Candace Against the Universe when it came out and I hardly remember anything. The 2nd Dimension also made me extremely emotional during the resolution because i truly cared about the main characters. Compared to the 2nd movie where I felt like the feel and emotions was all off from the original TV show.
I remember when this came out, my divorced dad was coming to pick us up and it usually is a long drive to his house. But we waited so long for it to come out, so my dad was nice enough to drop us off at our grandmothers house just so we could all watch it together. We really cared about this movie. We used to hype up all these phineas and ferb specials. Especially the episode where they got busted. We would all get together with popcorn.
I really enjoyed both movies, but I think Across the 2nd Dimension is the better one in the end. After watching them the first few times, I actually liked CATU a bit more, but things somehow turned later on. At2D became my ultimate comfort movie, it's probably my most watched movie so far (and I've only seen it for the first time in October or November 2020), and it always helps me when I'm not feeling so well. This may probably due to the fact that 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz is my all-time favourite character (even though he certainly did bad things and I don't condone his actions). I'm not even Sure how that happened, when I first watched the movie I actually found him kinda annoying, but somehow he just stole my heart
Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd dimension was special to me because PandF was my favorite back in my childhood and is nostalgic everytime I watch it. On the other hand Candace vs The Universe marked the return of my favorite show after 6 long years and I got to see my favorite characters once again. So for me I enjoy Across the 2nd Dimension more and i agree that each has its own merits, but nothing can beat the feeling of nostalgia.
there may be too many jokes that go in for too long, but then again, the scene in teacher feature where Scott is dancing might be my favorite Milo joke ever soooo
AT2D is better for the sole fact that it has a much more interesting plot and deals with BIG things we’d never seen before. CATU just doesn’t seem to hit much new ground. The villain just turning on a whim absolutely blows in it, in AT2D it makes sense knowing the irrationality of the character and how it’s been set up earlier in the film, rather than just spouting the message to them and that just instantly doing it, while also being out of character. AT2D also has a pretty fine emotional beat seeing as the not being able to communicate actually makes sense rather than direct misunderstanding of two language using adults. There also felt like real stakes in AT2D. Brainwashing/body replacement, killer robots, literal death chambers filled with lava, etc. And finally, the finale just has much more to it. Like, sure the side characters don’t get too much focus throughout the film. But at the end we see like, everyone we’ve met throughout the show with a song by the band we’ve know throughout the show. It just meshes so well and is a logical climax. The us against the universe song is fine, but it doesn’t feel as good or actiony as robot riot, and the way it plays out just feels way more cheesy with everyone walking together side by side in choreography. It just really embodies “what a fun little romp” as if there’s no real danger. Like at least the song with slash is a non canon credits song. I also feel like almost all the stuff CATU has that beats AT2D, is only because of modern times and hindsight. -The trailer better? The old trailer fit a less artful time with bombastic narrators and such. -better poster: hindsight -better score: hindsight -pacing: no commercials/hindsight CATU isn’t bad per say, but it’s just not a story that embodies the show like AT2D does
Like I love both films. But I feel if Candace against the univers got more marketing than just on Dan's TikTok it would of gotten more points and stuck with people more. Plus Candace against the universe was made during Covid so it was judged a bit harshly
It’s really hard for me to pick between the two movies, truth be told. I mean, on the one hand, I did appreciate Candace Against the Universe for having a more cinematic feel to the story, which I would argue matters heavily for a “The Movie” movie. Like, take any of the What’s New Scooby Doo era Scooby movies- they really just felt like extended What’s New episodes mostly compared to the likes of Zombie Island or even SCOOB. But on the other hand, Across the Second Dimension does feel like it’s a bit more consistent throughout, and a consistent level of quality really goes a long way for a “The Movie” movie. I do think I’d ultimately agree Across the Second Dimension is better… but what if both use the “The Movie” moniker because it’s a big meta joke about how everyone forgot the first movie happened in universe!? …Nah, but that was a funny little idea I had when thinking of the reset button the first movie hit.
The fact I don't understand is after the end of Phineas and Ferb's The 2D Dimension, in another season of Phineas and Ferb Perry was still with them and they never forget about being the engineer or never forget about their pet after they memory being erased by the inator
It was clarified that only that day was going to be erased in the movie, not who they actually were. Remember that the entire movie happened in ONE DAY.
38:53 in my opinion, Candace Against the Universe isn’t nearly as memorable as Across the 2nd Dimension or the other hour-long specials from the show. I can remember way more from episodes like Night of the Living Pharmacists, Last Day of Summer, and even OWCA Files.
So here's my take: Poster: Universe Trailer: 2nd D, because I found it more epic Marketing: 2nd D Story: 2nd easily Characters (original): Universe Characters (new): 2nd D Animation: This may be surprising, but Universe. Sure, the first act doesn't looks off and asteroid field looks bad, but I like all the other CGI and how it actually looks like a movie. Comedy in general: 2nd D Emotional journey: This is a close one, but 2nd D. I'm sorry, but I just couldn't feel bad for Candace. Pacing: 2nd D Edit: Okay, let me elaborate. I like the pacing for the first movie more because the second movie is an hour and 20 minutes long, but Doof and the gang don't even get to Feeblaoot until 26 minutes in, and we're only on the planet for about 45 minutes, not counting the sections with Doof and Vanessa. Cut potential: I really don't know 🤷♂️ The score: Universe Songs: 2nd D Yeah, the winner is the first movie, and I still would have preferred it even if the second movie won.
Across the 2nd dimension is so fucking funny, that brief shot of Stacy with the monument to the “mysterious force” in this video almost sent me into hysterics just by thinking about that scene
I can see why 2nd Dimension is more appealing to y'all who never stopped watching Phineas & Ferb, but Candace Against the Universe really struck a chord with me. It seems to have been written with the understanding that most of its viewers know the basic plot structure of a Phineas and Ferb episode and vaguely remember certain details, but just haven't seen it in a while--which I appreciated, because that is exactly my deal. Also, I tend to value the emotional core of a story a lot higher than anything else. Candace's arc felt way more real to me than the whole "my pet has betrayed me" thing. Although maybe I'm biased, I too am a woman with depression.
Look I watched a ton of Phineas and Ferb back when it was at its peak. And I basically watched all of Disney Channel’s other shows in one way or another so I was used to their commercial break structure. I don’t remember that specific trailer airing but they were building up hype basically all summer and a lot of those clips were in the commercials promoting the movie that aired constantly. So in a way I still sorta had an idea of the plot from that.
Here’s my case for Candace against the universe. The characters and running gags and songs are what MAKES Phineas and Ferb and I think that Candace against the universe does a better job with that by a long shot. I also love Buford and baljeet and they felt like such an afterthought in the second dimension.
i didn't even realize how many obnoxiously long gags there were in candace against the universe. are we watching a phineas and ferb movie or a family guy movie?
I never realized till now that Summer Belongs To You was NOT A MOVIE??? I remember so much more with that one (45-min) episode than these two movies combined which is kinda weird. Even the song itself was top tier.
I remember when Phineas and Ferb across the 2nd dimension came out. Yes I was young, but at least I could watch it on Disney Channel before Instagram or Vine even existed.
What's great about AT2D is that it feels like a jump the shark moment WITHOUT jumping thr shark. How many of us expected in 2011 for a PnF story around the biggest what if in the series. Certainly, they would save it for the finale, right? Nope.
43:52 honestly, I think they should’ve kept that title. “The Phineas and Ferb Movie: Candace Against the Universe” It still sorta makes it sound like “*The*” definitive movie, but it also works as just a description like “the P&F movie, Candace Against the Universe” in the same way that you might say “the P&F special, Summer Belongs to You” or “the P&F finale, Last Day of Summer”. But “Phineas and Ferb The Movie” makes it sound more official.
Growing up as a huge fan of this show and watching every single episode and all content that i could (and being absolutely devastated when it ended), i love both movies but for very different reasons. To me CATU felt like just a normal (but longer) episode of the show- which i absolutely adored solely based on the fact that the movie came out years after the show had ended and the nostalgia and happiness of there being a new episode of the show is incomparable. Watching this movie for the first time made me feel like a kid again and that the show never ended, i was probably smiling the whole time and definitely cried at the end not wanting it to be over. 2nd dimension is truly the best in terms of being an actual movie, as the story and songs are far superior (summer and where do we begin is iconic) I love the huge action scene so much seeing so many callbacks to all the episodes, and seeing the characters act differently then normal is refreshing and adds a lot to the uniqueness and charm to the movie. i will always prefer watching 2nd dimension to CATU in terms of replay value, as there are plenty of normal episodes of the show that i would prefer to watch over CATU. So overall i’m grateful that both movies exist- 2nd dimension for the story and how different it is from the normal show, and CATU for bringing me back to this incredible word that i love so much and to a simpler and happier time.
Do you know that the events of Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension take place during the third season of Phineas and Ferb and Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe is set at some point during the summer depicted in the series (in season 4) and before the season finale Last Day of Summer
I'm from Spain and I saw Phineas and Ferb across the 2nd Dimension in theaters; and from my personal opinion it's several hundreds of times better than Candace against the universe, I mean, I don't know why the comparation is even a question XD. The old movie had a plot with a lot of serious stakes, and that was something the show couldn't have. But the new one it's like an episode extended
I liked CATU, but I'm really gonna have to go with 2nd dimension. Not because of nostalgia, but also because they made Phineas & Ferb find out about Perry's secret identity (and then they 'work' together, which is wholesome) and I like how they made Candace a leader fighter(?) I would've never imagined her like that, lol. So 2nd dimension is the one.
Yeah, and I remember that even when I watched the movie on TV as a kid, it always bugged me that it would come back from commercials and then Phineas would say the exact same thing he already said right before the commercials. But they should’ve cut it out on Disney+ because it’s even more weird without commercials. What surprises me though is that they must’ve left it like that on the DVD too, and I don’t understand why they would do that. Is it really that much work to cut out like 2 seconds so that the scene doesn’t immediately repeat back to back?
"Across the second dimension" will always be my favourite Phineas and Ferb movie because of the game on psp but songs in the new movie are just incredible
Didn't they also cut the Milo cameo at the end, too? I would have loved to see that. Also, 100% agree with you on Us Against the Universe. I prefer the songs as a group from ATSD, but Us Against the Universe is the best thing they've ever done (and that's saying something).
During the second dimension, I actually cried the first time I saw perry walk away from them. I was around 4 or 5 watching it, and I just remember ugly crying.
ATSD was undoubtedly a better movie but you have to give CATU credit, it's hysterical, like I hadn't laughed so hard in a while when the aliens sang the song before opening the door
The biggest problem with CATU is in no way its fault. Because original PnF fans are mostly adults now (that doesn't mean they can't watch/enjoy the movie, just that they're not the main target audience), the writers have to explain the concept of the show as well as tell a new story. This in itself doesn't have to be a bad thing, but it does mean that a chain reaction happens The pacing suffers, therefore Superior songs have to be cut in favour of expositional songs, therefore Jokes have to be self reliant and not reference og PnF, therefore Og PnF fans feel let down/ignored
Yeah, I voted for the 2nd dimension myself, and I don't remember ever seeing the trailer for it, but I do remember the ads for it, and being really hyped when it was announced. 😆
I’m gonna be honest I am biased and that is why I like Candace against the universe so much. As an older sister the role Candace plays is so relatable on a spiritual level yet it has that unrealistic cartoony aspect to it that I love.
Candace Against the Universe was great but nothing can really touch how magnificent Across the 2nd Dimension was. There's a reason it was the highest rated telecast on basic cable for a while.
Phineas hand Ferb The Movie Across the 2nd Dimension set up the best villain in the series, had one of the most amazing plots ever, and has a special place in my heart among animated classics like The Lion King, Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker, and Bolt.
Honestly the thing I’m most annoyed about in Candace against the universe is…….. it didn’t have a villain song. Now doof had a good chunk of songs in the series but no one really qualifies him has a villain. Every one knows villain songs are usually amazing and the best songs in anything they’re in. If super super big doctor had gotten an actual villain song right before she invaded earth that would’ve been actually really cool if it was done right. The original show really didn’t have any villain songs so it’s kind of a big missed opportunity
I love how when I see this in my suggested, I just see your channel name underneath and I feel like the video's question was already kind of answered by your name lol
Across the 2nd dimension is a certified hood classic I don't think I caught the original premiere but I remember catching a rerun and loving it and looking back I can say 2nd dimension is still good
I feel like personally Candace against the universe was more like an actual movie you would watch at the movie theaters but 2nd dimension was more like a longer Phineas and Ferb episode.

Stacy deflecting meteors would have been great
Ah that’s a good point 🤔
man you just shattered my dreams for season 5 with that last part
@@TurretBotwdym?
@@champion1859 well this could easily just be me, but i kinda feel like the show doesnt really need more episodes as pretty much every interesting aspect already got explored pretty well, but then there was the stacy and perry interaction that just seemed so much like it was setting up something, literally anything but then it just never came back other than one throwaway line. so, my wishlist upon learning that there's going to be more seasons pretty much starts and ends with finally getting something with stacy and perry to pay this off
but then the comment pointed out quite correctly that they had all the reason to bring that up again in CATU and then didnt. that being said, in the 2 months it took me to remember to reply to this, i found out one of the confirmed season 5 episode titles is 'agent t for teen', so maybe not all hope is lost. maybe.
Across the Second Dimension no contest. Candace Against the Universe is good but it's too similar to the Queen of Mars episode. The first song Such a Beautiful Day and Us Against the Universe are addicting though.
It is similar to Unfair Science Fair Redux, but I feel Candace Against the Universe did the premise much better.
@MaxFireson Yes, yes it is.

2nd dimension is my favorite phineas and ferb movie
Across the 2nd dimension brings back hilarious memories I'll never forget the very first time I watched it....Candace against the universe was good too but I also think the 2nd dimension was better
@@riluszion4898 thats probably so
Something I love about 2D Doofenshmirtz is how he's a *huge* parallel to the original, like with his backstory, for instance. Doofenshmirtz didn't just have a tragic backstory. He had tragic backSTORIES. And he still ended up as a low-ranking villain (And eventually gave up evil)
2D Doof,on the other hand, literally lost a toy train, and went full evil scientist Hitler.
*I love this show so much*
Evil scientist Hilter 😂
Hearing that across the 2nd dimension came out in 2011 hit me with 50 points psychic damage

Candace against the universe feels like a special and that's it, not like a movie, the stakes don't matter since we know the ending, the characters are mostly already developed and the struggle Candace faces is the same she had when she went to Mars, it's great fun but it isn't as impactful as it could have been had it released before the show ended
Ratio + you fell off
Bro can we not fight
I fully agree, if we were to take away the stakes from both Candace against the universe doesn’t change much, while the 2nd dimension fully loses all it’s value
yeah it was obvious what would happen in the end since the show already ended and the movie takes place before the finale
If I had a Nickel for every time Disney made a Phineas and Ferb movie, I would have 2 Nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Isnt the last day of summer a movie too?
What about the starwars and marvel ones?
@@arandomlego5826 I think those are just extended episodes
Yeah marvel and star wars count as episodes because there also on the episode list unlike the 2 movies
theres a sequel to across the 2nd dimension also, i think its called "back to the 2nd dimension"
Only one thing I forgot to say - Phineas's eyebrows are ELITE in Candace Against the Universe. Mad props to the board artists for giving us premium Phineas eyebrow content
My favorite character
It’s honestly odd when I realize one of the few times Phineas’s eyebrows are shown is when he’s mad, which is a rarity itself. But yeah, they definitely dialed it us, even when he wasn’t mad.
Hi The 2nd D, I love old movie. Ps can you please respond to the message I left in your DuckTales writers.
Ps the one from 5 maths ago.
say what you want about the soundtrack, the deleted song of Step into the great unknown is one of the best songs in the movie (had it actually been there) and is better than several of the songs that are in the final version of the movie
33:05 well, even though it still bugged me whenever I watched the movie on TV, at least it was understandable because there was a commercial break. But they really should’ve cut that out on Disney+, because without commercials it feels really weird to see the scene repeated immediately.
100%. No reason to be there when all the other commercial breaks were fixed
As a kid and seeing the 2nd dimension for the first time on Disney channel I was surprised to see Phineas and Ferb seeing Perry as an agent
Yeah, I’d have to go with Across the 2nd Dimension has the better movie. Candace Against the Universe is good, but the first one is just more iconic and nostalgic. Also, I fully binge watched Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure and LOVED it!
Heck yeah!!! Glad you enjoyed it!
You only love it more BECAUSE you are nostalgic, that's the thing
@@MrCelashyeah but it’s also a better mpvie
10:56 They really underestimated how popular Phineas and Ferb still is. They play the reruns non stop on Disney XD.
I’ve only seen Candace Against The Universe once but I remember I really didn’t like the running gags going on for so long
And for the marketing, they actually did air the videos for Such A Beautiful Day and We’re Back on Disney Channel a lot, but I do agree the promotion for Across The 2nd Dimension was better
And since you brought it up: the song All The Convoluted Reasons We Pretend To Be Divorced from the sequel episode is so great 😂😂😂
IT'S SO GOOD I want to make a vid about that episode
While objectively Across The Second Dimension is the better movie, I always felt a special connection to Candace Against The Universe. It’s emotional journey is so perfect, I can forgive all of its flaws. Also Us Against The Universe is literally my favorite song of all time so there’s that.
US AGAINST THE UNIVERSE IS SO PERFECT
“Objectively Across The Second Dimension is the better movie” lol what
@@oliverplougmand2275 beluga is cringe
I think both movies are equally great but I'll always prefer 2nd Dimension. Candace Against The Universe still delivers basically everything I wanted from a Phineas and Ferb movie
The alternate dimension perry is a reference to the borg from star trek, so it's the whole second dimension since it's a lot like star trek's mirror universe, and it's not surprising since Dan, the p&f co-creator, is a huge trek fan.
Ooooh I didn't know that! Neat!
@@piecaruso97 My impression was that Dr. Zone was supposed to be a Dr. Who thing. Since it’s a British time travel show
The fact that the Nickel meme is used outside of Phineas and Ferb is how you know that movie popped off more
24:54 "Buford says something funny here" made me laugh *so* much actually this whole scene did Phineas and ferb's 4th wall breaks are some of the best jokes in the whole series
The secondary design of the 2nd dimension poster was the cover of the book that was released alongside the movie
I much prefer it
I think Phineas & Ferb the movie across the 2nd Dimenstion is still the best and the battle with Evil Doof and the songs are outstanding so I hope there will be a video about the teenage mutant ninja turtles!
The TMNT video demand continues!
i didn't notice the animation differences too much when watching CATU but now that you've pointed them out it's painfully obvious. i remember thinking that the lines were too thick in the beginning of the movie, but i didn't notice how STIFF the animation was.
now if you'll excuse me, i'm off to watch Across the Second Dimension again-
I remember watching Across the 2nd Dimension ad a kid. Stayed up late with my dad to see it. Loved it as a kid and still today
That's such a cool story! My sister got it for me on DVD for Christmas and that's how I first saw it!

Across the 2nd Dimension always will be my favorite. I mean, Multiversal Shenanigans are what I love! (Also why No Way Home is Top 3 Spider-Man movies)
MULTIVERSES ARE SO FUN
Also I feel like Across the 2nd Dimension really showcases what P&F is about. Like it's packed full of the action but also the comedy of the actual show that again, it feels like an extended episode.
P&F: Candace against rhe Universe doesn't feel like a P&F movie? Like it's fine as a movie but doesn't really feel like it's P&F? If you know what I mean?
Not true
I remember watching the 2nd Dimension when it came out and I still remember almost everything. I also watched Candace Against the Universe when it came out and I hardly remember anything. The 2nd Dimension also made me extremely emotional during the resolution because i truly cared about the main characters. Compared to the 2nd movie where I felt like the feel and emotions was all off from the original TV show.
The last part is cap
That's not true at all
I remember when this came out, my divorced dad was coming to pick us up and it usually is a long drive to his house.
25:24 - 28:14, AKA, "Dan, your Family Guy roots are showing"
-better poster: hindsight
-better score: hindsight
-pacing: no commercials/hindsight
CATU isn’t bad per say, but it’s just not a story that embodies the show like AT2D does
I disagree
Us against the universe is the best song
Remember your opinion isn't a fact.
I will always believe that across the second dimension is the superior movie!
Me too 👍
Like I love both films.
My favorite comedic line in against the universe is the axeinator
That's such a great bit!!
So here's my take:
Poster: Universe
Trailer: 2nd D, because I found it more epic
Marketing: 2nd D
Story: 2nd easily
Characters (original): Universe
Characters (new): 2nd D
Animation: This may be surprising, but Universe. Sure, the first act doesn't looks off and asteroid field looks bad, but I like all the other CGI and how it actually looks like a movie.
Comedy in general: 2nd D
Emotional journey: This is a close one, but 2nd D. I'm sorry, but I just couldn't feel bad for Candace.
Pacing: 2nd D
Edit: Okay, let me elaborate. I like the pacing for the first movie more because the second movie is an hour and 20 minutes long, but Doof and the gang don't even get to Feeblaoot until 26 minutes in, and we're only on the planet for about 45 minutes, not counting the sections with Doof and Vanessa.
Cut potential: I really don't know 🤷♂️
The score: Universe
Songs: 2nd D
Yeah, the winner is the first movie, and I still would have preferred it even if the second movie won.
Across the 2nd dimension inspired mutiverse of madness and you can't change my mind
All of the MCU has been stealing stuff from Across the 2nd Dimension, ever since The Avengers.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing!
I feel sorry for y’all, if anybody says Candace against the Universe is the better one 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Snipple was definitely animating in PowerPoint
Candice against the universe looks like a flash animation
What's great about AT2D is that it feels like a jump the shark moment WITHOUT jumping thr shark.
How many of us expected in 2011 for a PnF story around the biggest what if in the series. Certainly, they would save it for the finale, right?
Nope.
I didn’t even know there was second movie. I remember loving across the 2nd dimension as a kid, and the game too.
I remember playing a Phineas and Ferb across the 2nd dimension wii video game as a kid, after watching the film, and I loved it
I love it too! Especially the soda gun
43:52 honestly, I think they should’ve kept that title. “The Phineas and Ferb Movie: Candace Against the Universe”
It still sorta makes it sound like “*The*” definitive movie, but it also works as just a description like “the P&F movie, Candace Against the Universe” in the same way that you might say “the P&F special, Summer Belongs to You” or “the P&F finale, Last Day of Summer”. But “Phineas and Ferb The Movie” makes it sound more official.
I like how you added the "Our Movie is Better than Yours" song
as much as I liked Both Phineas and Ferb Movies I'd feel like Across the 2nd Demension did it better with it's Story and Comedy
Across the 2nd Dimension was goated. It will always be my favorite.
I think i know why that prahse 2 times
Maybe in the tv maybe there was a ad and then when it came back phineas said the same thing
I love both but the first movie is better. But it doesn’t mean that the second one is bad too. Both are great but the first one just better
The name of this channel legit answered the question
"Across the second dimension" will always be my favourite Phineas and Ferb movie because of the game on psp but songs in the new movie are just incredible
I might start a band callled Buford's Canoe.
Now we know that Snipple **DID the last third** of the CATU, does that mean Yearim did the first?
Didn't they also cut the Milo cameo at the end, too? I would have loved to see that.
Also, 100% agree with you on Us Against the Universe. I prefer the songs as a group from ATSD, but Us Against the Universe is the best thing they've ever done (and that's saying something).
Good
During the second dimension, I actually cried the first time I saw perry walk away from them.
This in itself doesn't have to be a bad thing, but it does mean that a chain reaction happens
The pacing suffers, therefore
Superior songs have to be cut in favour of expositional songs, therefore
Jokes have to be self reliant and not reference og PnF, therefore
Og PnF fans feel let down/ignored
Don’t forget the two different Across the 2nd Dimension games, those were great
Yeah, I voted for the 2nd dimension myself, and I don't remember ever seeing the trailer for it, but I do remember the ads for it, and being really hyped when it was announced. 😆
Me too 👍
Both are amazing EVERY TIME I WATCH across the second dimension I always cry at the ending but I don’t like either one more I think their both amazing
Across the second dimension is probably a top 5 disney channel original movie. It's arguably the best Disney channel original cartoon movie
Absolutely! Animated DCOMs are a rare breed and they're so good
I'd say the pacing flows better for Candace Against The Universe since it's about 84 minutes while Across The Second Dimension is around 76 minutes.
Being from Spain i actuallysaw the movie when it released, i liked it as a kid but now i know the truth, it's incredible
Honestly did not know the Candace movie existed.
Exactly! How did it do so well if so few fans of the original series saw it?!
I’m gonna be honest I am biased and that is why I like Candace against the universe so much. As an older sister the role Candace plays is so relatable on a spiritual level yet it has that unrealistic cartoony aspect to it that I love.
Nice opinion
I thought 2nd dimension perry was so intimidating and badass
Candace Against the Universe was great but nothing can really touch how magnificent Across the 2nd Dimension was. There's a reason it was the highest rated telecast on basic cable for a while.
Not gonna lie after watching this I'm gonna watch these movies back to back
Phineas hand Ferb The Movie Across the 2nd Dimension set up the best villain in the series, had one of the most amazing plots ever, and has a special place in my heart among animated classics like The Lion King, Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker, and Bolt.
This ain't even a debate bro Phineas and Ferb across the second dimension was the best it made me emotional everytime
The original show really didn’t have any villain songs so it’s kind of a big missed opportunity
me when im about to skip the don't skip this part challenge, and realize its called the dont skip this part challenge, so I can't skip it -_-
I love how when I see this in my suggested, I just see your channel name underneath and I feel like the video's question was already kind of answered by your name lol
36:49 Oh HELL yea we're talking about the junior novelization
The only canon version of the story
Across the 2nd dimension is a certified hood classic
I don't think I caught the original premiere but I remember catching a rerun and loving it and looking back I can say 2nd dimension is still good
I feel like personally Candace against the universe was more like an actual movie you would watch at the movie theaters but 2nd dimension was more like a longer Phineas and Ferb episode.
Wait, if both have "The Movie" in it.... That means... they were both one whole movie combined...
Well, I appreciate both movies like, 2D Dimension is Perry's Movie, and CATU is Candace's Movie.
If we could fuse the good things from both movies into one movie, then it would be the ultimate Phineas and Ferb movie.
As a Phines and Ferb fan my Self I loved both Films but I choose second across dimension Overall.
Same
23:48 then no matter how many times I watch this it still gets a chuckle out of me
