- This is the former childhood home of the "Little Princess": Shirley Temple. It was here where this Wee Darlin' was born and raised in this bucolic little suburb of Santa Monica California. While living in this house, Shirley filmed "Little Miss Marker" and "Bright Eyes" among others. After becoming so famous, her parents were forced to move Shirley to a gated community a few blocks away in 1934. This house was located, as a buffer, away from the brutal reality of "The Great Depression"; as it were. Meaning that in this location at that time was only rural, dirt road between Santa Monica and the raging poverty then taking place in Los Angeles' City's urban center which was 20 miles away. This fact I believe, "Heaven Sent", thereby saving Shirley's innocence intact and thus allowing her to ever manifest a cheerful demeanor which helped American's to not lose HOPE throughout that era by watching the "Little Princess" up on the silver screen.
Thank you love this.♥️my grandma lived next to the temples when Shirley was very young. Not quite famous yet .not sure if it was here. Topanga canyon or Beverly Hills. She sat with Shirley from time to time when the Temples needed to get out shop and such. Too bad we didn't get any photos of this adorable future Icon. Wish also I had asked my grandmother more questions about Shirley as well. She did say she was full of life and pranced in her little toes like a ballerina well.that certainly would be in her future..I absolutely Loved this little 👍girl who became a Beautiful woman inside and out💕💕💕
The little princess left this world February 10th 2014. Long live the memories of Shirley Temple. She brought so much sunshine to the world in her lifetime. We love you Shirley Temple rest in peace. Thank you young man for posting your video,,,please have a great day.
I don't understand why anyone would change anything of Shirley Temple's childhood home. If parts of the home need maintenance, then maintain it but don't change it.

My grandfather was the architect the home she moved into, it was known as Shirley temples dollhouse

People have various tastes, I see the wall, I guess they had that done (new owners) to retain water from going down on their side walks and into street, and or from other people walking their pets and leaving them natural fertilizers on their lawn. But everything has changed in California since Shirley Temple, and other famous stars of that era. I mean, wasn't the Fairbanks home torn down and some big monster is up there now. There really isn't much left of tinsel town Hollywood, Santa Monica. Like is Norma Shearers beach house still there?
A lower, stone retaining wall would stop mudslide and deter dog walker deposits.
