In Milford Connecticut Fire Headquarters was built in 1928 and is in full service, updated over time, main apparatus floor was reinforced to support the weight of newer trucks and engines, a bay was added to accommodate the tower truck and kitchen and restrooms for male and female firefighters.
You should really come visit central fire station in Sioux Falls, SD. It was built in 1913. It is in the national register of historic places. The gym is the old hay loft from when they used horse drawn engines. It's a beautiful station. There's a great UA-cam video all about it.
We have a firehouse that is over 100 years old. The issues our volunteers face is that the basement floods from time to time and the creek going below our city will overflow into it… You can even cast a line and fish… Hopefully we can replace the structure soon. It’s awesome to see these old firehouses. PS: That’s a Polaris Ranger, not a gator ;)
In Stockholm, Sweden, there is a still working firehouse called ”Katarina brandstation” that has been operational since 1 of july 1872. Part of the station is since the 1780’s when it housed the so called cityguard that was a predecessor to what to day The Greater city of Stockholm fire department. Today its one of the four most central firehouses in Stockholm city and houses a pumper/rescue unit and a ladder unit.
Hunterdon County has a lot of great township fire departments, Lebanon, Clinton, Holland, Frenchtown, Kingwood, all great people and great communities.
love the video bectiful firehouse i went in there years ago with my departments. after a parade for a sick child declan who love fire truck which have fire truck from almost every departments in NJ there amazing group of guys those guys did a amazing job to surpise him
Even keepin' it traditional with those old Code 3 XL lightbars and the Federal AeroDynic on the brush truck! I'm pretty sure Code 3 discontinued that model back in the mid-90s and replaced it with the MX7000, so Lebanon intentionally elected to pull these off their old rigs to put on their current ones. Interesting contrast with the new-ish Whelen RB6s and LED Roto-Rays in the lower A zone on the three Seagraves, too, which makes the choice even more curious. Halogens and rotator motors are serious power hogs--you can literally watch the amp meter in the gauge cluster spin precipitously counterclockwise whenever you flip the switch to power them up--so hanging on to outdated technology wouldn't be my first choice, and I'm salty enough to remember when you could buy either of these lightbars brand new. But, hey, to each their own and I respect Lebanon for that little extra helping of old school.
Nice old firehouse! Also, I like the bit of firefighting knowledge being included, I hope that continues. Question: have you ever been interrupted by a call while doing these videos? It would be interesting to see some of that, if you have any!
You should check out the fire station in Montreal at the corner of Laurier and St. Laurent which is one of the original stations. It also has the Museum.
Great looking station, and if sometime down the road, they have to close this down, hope that somebody can make it their own home, it would almost be like living in a mansion, with 5 garages, and dont know how many bedrooms and bathrooms, and if correct in all of those garages, they could probably fit at least over 10 vehicles, since the ones on the far right of the station are much larger on the inside than the other ones. but anyways they made a very good decision Building this station, if you dont mind me asking, that green house which is sitting right in front of the station, is that somebodys Private home, or does that belong to the fire dept as well????
if you want a fire dept that is one of the oldest in new jersey and is loaded with tradition and pride contact or visit freehold boro fire dept and the freeold area the house has the only fire truck that the boss ever bought for a town the born to run mini pumper the boss bruce springsteen bought for the boro after the freehold racetrack fire
There’s no national standard to what you call an apparatus. Ive seen ambulances and brush trucks called Squads or rescues. There needs to be a standard or something more standard especially with increase need for auto aid and mutual aid. A typical Squad is a dual purpose engine company that has special operations capabilities of either hazmat or rescue. If they are first due to a structure fire (usually in their response area) they can operate as an engine company. FDNY set the standard to what a Squad is and what a Rescue is.
That "squad 51" program is so ingenious, I wish more departments and counties would do that
I didn’t realize how cool your fire station was up north Lebanon. Hello from 47!
Excellent video!! Love how they have their patches displayed.
Thanks for watching!

Here in Milwaukee, we got a station that's still running and built in 1905. In big cities, older stations are more common i guess.
Taunton, MA has a station (HQ) built in 1869 that is still fully operational. Also operational stations there are built in 1888, 1889 and 1900
In Stockholm, we have Maria Firestation. It was opend 1 of july 1876.
And it"s still operstional!
You should check out the fire station in Montreal at the corner of Laurier and St. Laurent which is one of the original stations. It also has the Museum.

the town of Rumford Maine has a station from 1924
As rigs get bigger they really push the limits size wise with the old stations. There's a few in Vermont and the rigs barley fit.
@@t.c.v.t. Rumford just got a new Spartan pumper that has 2 inches or less gap on each side

The Freehold Fire Department was established in 1872 when Good Will Hook & Ladder was formed,
When did Hunterdon County move to North Jersey was always considered Central Jersey when i lived there.
Asbury park I'd slated for a new firehouse in the coming years but also has a career department running out of a house built in 1900.
My companies been open since 1926 and operating since
The Gilbertsville NY Fire Department has been going since 1874.

Hello @@HeroesNextDoor
Flat lay hose is such a time consuming way to deploy and make up hose. Just use reels for your initial attack?
seams like alot of fire departments do drill nights on Mondays
