Pumpkin was abandoned for 8 months after his owners passed away and was declawed, which completely left him defenseless and vulnerable. He has trust issues with people because of these actions. He's been rescued by the Lange Foundation with the hopes to rehabilitate him into his forever home. Pumpkin is a ragdoll cat and would make a great cat, but needs a special owner who can put a lot of work into him. If you'd like to be Pumpkin's forever family contact langefoundation.org.

I don't understand why declawing is not illegal yet. It is in many countries.
You'd think that common sense would tell you not to declaw a cat but sadly people do it thinking it's all right and normal :(

My cat is like him . She stand to pee from declaw. She was rescued before abdandon on the streets. She is now 6 and have use heating pad to get swelling down in paws after playing and cold weather. She got loose bone in paws. Vets refuse to treat her.
I wish I could adopt him, but sadly I live in NZ. :'(
just saw your message, hoping to find out what happened to Pumpkin. Kiwimagic Ragdoll cats in Auckland have retirees for good homes. I have had 4 from this breeder & couldn't ask for more. They live in a family home & deals with international breeder's. They are on Facebook.

If they were feeding him why not take him to the shelter earlier

The cat that has been declawed and left for 8 month in an empty home. I actually had have the very same type of cat for 26 years and 4 month. I have had her declawed as a 6 month old. I can assure you she didn't miss not having her nails. My vet can vouch for that. Because of my allergy from scratches, I had to have this done. My cat had a wonderful and great life with me. She was loved every minute of her life. My vet came every year to my place to examine her. I am sorry that many good people who have the same problem, now, can not
have a cat because of the new law. I understand this, but their are people like me who are responsible. I had a provision, after I pass away that the cat has to be taken care off first. Adele
