I’ve never seen the cancelled Star Wars Build-A-Figures. I would’ve bought those up as soon as I could. That B2 and 501st AT-RT are works of art, and easily seem to be two of the best sets in the theme!

Great video and very interesting topic. The only canceled lego I own is the Flash minifigure.

The Christmas gwp was cancelled due to the "naughty list" piece having actual names on it and Lego not wanting for kids to potentially be upset if their names were on that list

Yes, and the name “Donald” is on the list. I have this set.

I'm still upset that Lego didn't officially "cancel" the Omnic Titan, and just "delayed" it... for four years...

Where can you buy it? I've been looking for years and haven't seen an official release of that set. The only ones i know that exist are on ebay for ridiculous prices

I’m still gutted that Lego cancelled the Temple of Doom set. It’s my favourite Indiana Jones film, and the figures looked really good. The crook’s hideout, buildable Super Battle Droid and 501st trooper on an AT-RT looked quite promising too.

The broader rumor on the cancelled ToD set was that Disney/Lucasfilm may've had some eleventh hour reservations about merchandising based on that film, given its infamous depiction of Indian mythology being seen as distasteful still is spoken out against in some communities (there's even a Doctor Who comic that tried to use the idea of Kali as a villainous figure circa 2015 that got enough blowback that some runs changed the names to lessen the connection). How early/late the call to halt production was or how much it affected LEGO's desire to broaden the them is hard to say, particularly as I have heard some rumors based on set number listings that Dial of Destiny was meant to have its own 2nd wave at some point.
The Hasbro figure community has some more evidence for Disney/Lucafilm's shift; the 6" Adventure Series line only had one TOD figure that wasn't an outfit variant of Indy from the film, despite having a "dedicated" wave with a build-an-artifact of the Sankara Stone monument; early inventory listings suggest that the possessed Indy was meant to be a retailer exclusive like most Indy costumes the line had, and that Mola Ram was likely slotted for the mainline wave proper. Marketing blurbs even reference him, and there's one alleged leak out there of a design render for the figure.

strangely, Queensland of all places gets sets early but from my experience I've never seen sets show up early especially with cmf figures. Like I assume they won't show up at like Big W and Kmart

Not sure about canceled sets but here in Japan, Lego releases tend to be one month ahead--probably due to the closeness to the Chinese factories. Sets like the City seaside harbor have been on shelves all month. :)

The Mandalay Bay set is interesting to me since I’m South African.
I had no idea we had a rare set. Heck I recently found out someone actually got their hands on the Overwatch 2 set. So I guess we are like you Australians getting some sets early.
Which is even stranger because there’s some normal Lego sets that we barely got over here. The Creator 3in1 crocodile and octopus sets didn’t show up in most stores and there was a Jurassic World set with the pryoraptor that wasn’t seen anywhere. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with LEGOs distribution or the stores just not ordering the sets for their shelves.

I have the whole Galidor line of sets, including in-box and loose copies of Aquart and a complete loose Tager.
I can attest, they are some really cool sets!

Great video, very informative for the short runtime. Would be great to see rundown of sets that were cancelled any why, if you can find the reason out that is

South African here. I've been into lego for a long time and never heard about that Las Vegas set. Is there any more info on it?

Just a note: the temple of doom you show at 0:28 is a fan recreation, not the actual set itself

Very important note! This was made by Brick Jongleur as a replica of the cancelled set using the original 2000s era minifigs. You can get his instructions on Rebrickable here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-169262/Brick%20Jongleur/the-temple-of-doom-indiana-jones-replica-of-77014/#details

You probably not gonna read it, but there were sets of Galidor in Europe, too! At least in Poland - I know it, because I owned Allegra Zane! I was way too young to even know the set, but the moment I saw yours in that video I reminded myself of a "three-legged robo-dinosaur" how I used to call keewop! I never expect to learn a new thing from such a distant memory, but now I remember!

@@bugbuster8598 So interesting that the Keewop was cut from the show but was still included in the Allegra set! I plan to make more Galidor videos in the future, thank you
