I seriously regret taking apart all my modular buildings, winter village sets and creator 3 in 1 sets I received in my first few years I got into LEGO. I destroyed all those sets/have a bin now to learn and practice building MOC’s, but after watching this video, I’m totally motivated to rebuild them and stay optimistic at the same time! (You seriously did inspire me)
@@OptimisticBricks I built all my old childhood Star Wars sets. 2007 MTT, 2005 Duel on Mustafar, Clone Wars Gunship, etc. Brought back so much nostalgia.
When I was little kid, I used The Bin as the punishment to my lego figures. Villans was transported in special dropship type thing, with a trapdoor, and when it would open... There was no hope for them.
I understand the annoyance and enjoyment of this, during Lockdown, me and my family did this for all 97 of my sets, all were broken and in 2 huge bins and 2 smaller ones. All of them now have a place on the shelves in my bedroom, it’s always fun to see people’s reactions to the Lego draping my room. It was a great family building task and ended being my favourite memory of Lockdown, love seeing others doing this as well. Thank you so much for reminding me of that time of light in such a dark time.
Yeah, it was great fun, took us 4 months in total because we had to order some new parts that had unfortunately been lost to the vacuum cleaner. Not sure 97 is record worthy, but it was a lot to do, especially some of the huge sets we had to build.
From my experience, a Rubbermaid Roughneck 10-gallon bin filled halfway is the best for Lego Storage, so the weight of the pieces don't damage the other pieces as much as if you use a bigger bin. And I have 3 bins dating back to the 80s (though it was 9.5-gallon Keepers from Rubbermaid, but still roughly the same size and shape as the roughnecks), and got 3 more recently. However, I will say, if you enjoy MOC Building, then having a few bins is a good idea!
I used to have a "bin" when I was a kid and then me and my dad sorted these pieces into color coded smaller "bins" making it more easy to revive my lost sets.
I did this exact thing during lockdown, resurrecting around 45 sets over a two year period. Including Power Miners, Space Police, Star Wars and more. My proudest one was the 2008 Death Star, which was a dusty husk tucked away on my shelf. I took it apart, cleaned the parts, found what was missing (around 700 pieces) and put it back together. I have to say, I love my Lego shelf far more now that it encompasses my entire journey. (Though I did have to later part down some models for spacing reasons). It's totally worth the effort.
It is entertaining to see someone giving a second life to these Lego pieces. I feel really agreeable to see you resurrecting these classic Lego sets. Keep going and keep optimistic!
I used to do this in 2020, and honestly it was the best thing i did in my free time, brought back old sets i even frogot o owned, the nostalgia of holding them again!
Man, I should do something like that. Yet again, I have to organise the pieces in order to resurrect my missing Lego sets like the old Buzz lightyear spaceship and Attack on avengers tower... And that I need to be careful with the Fake Legos in there.
@@keremg-i9lcuz the whole point of lego is to make ur own creations from the parts u have?💀 and most of ur get lego sets as gifts instead of buying them ourself
When i moved cross country a year ago, most of my lego sets got the bin. Only a few got individual containers. No regrets though, because its encouraging me to make more MOCs
3:37 really cool build! I’ve took a broken Lego Y-wing that I scraped for parts and turned it into my own fighter with retractable wings, bombs, 2 cockpits, and more
Awesome video. You should submit that drop ship to Lego ideas. My two favorite Hobbys have been started or rediscovered because of you (yoyoing and Lego) thank you.
i did this in 2020 with my old bionicle, star wars and power miners sets, i won't ever regret doing it because i love to see all of my boys back in my shelf
4:00 idk why people destroys their lego creation just because you need one part to finish something just like remove it it's that easy you don't have to destroy it
I remember as a kid i had a knockoff police car. And for years i Hadn't thought of it so this video inspired ant remembered me that old lego set. So thanks♥️
I have like 18 different bins full of lego and i believe one of them is the tie defender, ive found a few old black wing pieces, that window piece, and one of the pieces used to attach the wings to the cockpit
This guy looks familiar, almost like I've seen him on another channel where he does cool stuff with what I think was a yoyo, but I'm not sure I could be insane
Should I remake the drop ship in a future video? If so what changes/improvements would you add to it?
@@OptimisticBricks Could you possibly do a video where you go to the LEGO store and experiment with pieces from the pick a brick wall?

I have 8 buckets with like 15000 pieces in each one I was only able to rebuild one set being the Kai fighter

I love to hear it! And hey, part of lego is using the pieces to make your own creations. Good luck on rebuilding them my guy!

Rebuilding old sets from a giant bin is such a vibe. Doing that in 2020 got me back into LEGO.
It's very satisfying when all said and done. What sets did you wind up rebuilding?
