Ryback is one of those guys who tries so hard to make everyone believe he's not bitter that he comes off as completely and utterly bitter
To me, he comes across as more a complete dunce than throwing bitter shots. Most of his notable rants are part of righteous lectures against the WWE & the wrestling industry as a whole, & even if some of his points are correct (how badly wrestlers need an industry union, the lack of sufficient medical care for wrestlers but especially for retired ones, etc) he clouds his arguments in messy personal drama, which makes it seem like he's falling backwards accidentally into correct opinions instead of genuinely having measured thoughts on anything. He's just a big dummy strong guy who Vince pushed because he was a dummy strong guy who luckily got booked with a couple generational talents & has no idea how fortunate he was.
The guy is too fucking stoopid to change the story about how he walked away because they weren't going to pay him more money, even though they offered him more than he was getting but it wasn't enough in his mind.

I remember when Chris Van Vleit interviewed him and accidentally mentioned that Ryback was fired. When Ryback heard him use the word "fired" he almost jumped out of his seat. He then spent a full minute clarifying that he wasn't fired and instead quit. The whole exchange was very awkward.

My take on Ryback has always been this: if WWE didn't use you right, and you're better than they think you are, go somewhere else, prove it, make them regret letting you go, and maybe one day they'll offer you stupid money to come back for a one-off.
He chose the Alex Riley route: keep trash-talking them but never actually make them miss you. I don't think if it pays better, but maybe the freedom to say whatever you want, even when it's wrong, is more valuable to him.
If he'd have done what Galloway/MacIntyre did, he'd be right back on the payroll.

I'm aware he was one of eight finalists, and wwe gave him developmental deal in 2004, which he didn't start til 05', and he didn't start on screen as ryback.. He was in OVW. He started using the RYBACK name in 08', blah blah blah... Fast forward from the nxt stuff in feb 2010, and the feed me more bs he is remembered by.... Anyways he left in 2016.. I'm not counting him learning how to wrestle as a member of the roster. In that case no one knew who he was until 2012.. And was gone in 2016. Four long years of terrible matches, and hurting other talent.
So yes I do know a little bit about what I'm talking about.. And I've actually lost my virginity and fucked women before... I'm sure you can relate huh? you get tons of pussy Mr stankydank lmao!!

It's not just that he changed his name to Ryback, it's that he did it for no good reason. He thought he could pull a Warrior, but the Ultimate Warrior had a preWWF history as the Dingo Warrior, so when he changed his name to 'Warrior', he had that history to draw on and he got to keep it. He didn't get to keep the 'Ultimate' part. Ryback wasn't Ryback until they called him Ryback. They own the whole thing. He can't use it no matter what his legal name is. If that was all it took there'd be 100 wrestlers legally named 'Hulk Hogan'.
Warrior changed his legal name to Warrior....Chyna changed her real name to Chyna.
